Shouldn't pavement give the driver an actual chance to alow the car down with the brake? It you can keep the wheels from locking up, you should be able to get it slowed down to steer it away from fhe wall.

If you're on grass, unless you dig into it, aren't you just sliding on top of it? Brakes aren't going to do you much good if haven't got the grip.

If you watch the #54 wreck from the Xfinity race from a year ago, you tell me if he slowed down.

Tracks shouldn't have unprotected pitlanes.

Having an outer pit wall could be disastrous if a car hits the attenuator at 190mph.

At this point, both side may have their advantages and disadvantages. Whatever they are, racing is still dangerous.

Which is why I just refer to it as a "Forced Holiday". Sadly, one doesn't simply convince Fox or NASCAR to stop trying to be everyone else.

There is no grip period. I would think if they got a bit of cloud cover the 2nd line may start to develop. Otherwise it will be hugging the bottom of the track and only move up when the car slips.
