Even Kyle doesn't look that excited about winning anymore :lol:, kinda just nonchalantly walks up, takes the flag, waves it around a few times while taking his trademark bows, gets back in the car and drives off like oh well, won again. :lol:

All of the races have dropped since last year. Most notably, the Atlanta race is the least watched second race of the season in 16 years.

I'm not overly surprised considering the 500 was a snoozefest until the last few laps. Plus I don't think the new chase format is helping much considering it's made all non-chase races almost irrelevant which gives people less incentive to watch them (similar to what March Madness did to regular season NCAA games).

Sports programming hasn't had the drop-off that more traditional programming has had. It's one of the popular reasons people state for keeping cable/satellite.
 
I see it is still the same tired complaints about cup drivers in lower series. Without them there are no lower series. Get over it.

And whoever it was that brought up driver ratings... GTFO.

First of all, I wasn't complaining, I was just expressing my thoughts and opinions on the matter....which, the last I knew, was perfectly allowed here. So no, I'm not going to get over it, my thoughts and opinions matter just as much as yours do. I'm not quite sure who you think you are coming in here and telling people to GTFO just because you don't agree with them or don't like the subject matter that they brought up.

I'm not so sure about that considering almost every other lower tier series on the planet manages to survive without drivers from the top level. Granted the series as we know it would cease to exist, but an actual development series would sprout from the ashes.

You'd be giving NASCAR's decision makers too much credit as well.

The only real thing that continues to gain viewers year to year now is the NFL. Other sports are generally either stable or slightly down.
That said, IndyCar was up last year and NHRA is way up now that they aren't on at 3 am on ESPN 2. People still want to watch racing, they've just grown a bit weary of NASCAR. Ratings are still big for NASCAR compared to other sports though, and with that 10 year contract they aren't going away for a while.

Anybody complaining about Cup drivers don't understand the actual issue here of there only being five well funded organizations (Gibbs, JRM, Childress, Roush, and Penske), a couple of teams that are somewhat funded like JD Motorsports, and the other half of the field not having two quarters to rub together. Derrike Cope is by no means a good driver but no way he's should be being lapped three times in the first 60 laps like today.

If you ban Cup drivers from the series everybody here would be complaining about Jones and Suraez being two tenths faster than the rest of the field.

I believe they shut down. Makes sence after the suddently shut down the NTG forums and ETX forums without any notice to the moderators or members. (Seriously, no joke.)

But, that's a story for a different thread/time.

They had a good Le Mans game for the PS1. For whatever reason they went insane in the PS3 generation.

NTG: 2011 was a mess but you could tell the cars drove good for an arcade racer. Literally all they had to do for the next game in the series was fix bugs, make online somewhat competent, and spend some time on the AI. You could probably give the code to a couple of good programmers and they could fix two of the three alone in the time between 2011 and Inside Line.

Instead, we have the same issues in NTG 2015 that we had in NTG 2011. A 200 employee studio couldn't do something NR2003 modders probably could do. Forum posts criticizing the game were deleted on said forum and every patch made the games act worse. Paulie Harraka: Sprint Cup Series driver. No Regan Smith in NTG 2011 because the team just wasn't asked. You know, the team that won the Southern 500 that year.

From what I've heard, people over there at EU treated the game behind the scenes as a joke side project that nobody put much effort into. It was like giving a game developer in America a license to make a cricket game.

I'm a little more optimistic that DMI will be better because they don't have the Eutechnyx stink outside of code and promotional materials along with actually being based in the Charlotte area, but you're an idiot if you ever buy a NASCAR game on day one from anybody now.

What would happen if Cup teams were prohibited from fielding Xfinity Series and Truck Series entries?
 
Satellite operations aren't that bad, tbh. JR Motorsports isn't dominating, and neither is BKR. They might be getting great cars/trucks, but they're not getting the Cup staff to put them to full effect. There are feeder series teams to F1 that have connections to F1 teams, but then again, those are spec series and the F1 teams aren't building those cars.
