From Jayski:

Gordon's return could impact Hall of Fame admission: Jeff Gordon's return to Sprint Cup racing could impact his NASCAR Hall of Fame eligibility. He was on track to be nominated, after the required two years of retirement for a driver under 55, in 2018 for the 2019 class. NASCAR will have to determine if this two-race (at least) substitute role in place of Dale Earnhardt Jr. will push him into first being eligible to be nominated in 2019 for the 2020 class.(ESPN.com)(7-21-2016)

Jeff Gordon will eventually a Hall of Famer eventually. First ballot (even first name) even. Worry about Hall of Fame stuff if Jeff Gordon somehow pulls a Brett Favre or something and maybe go one or more seasons trying to get a fifth Cup championship... or maybe even try to be among the seven-time Cup champions.

Considering how they've been with the chase waivers, I don't see why there is any doubt he won't be in the 2018 class.

Fixed. Also, bummer on that.

"...and the winner of "Jinx of the Year" goes to..."

Rick Allen!

Caution-free race... until the Hisense car spun out with less than about 13 laps to go. I HAD to get this post in! I just got home a few minutes ago when I saw that spin. And I'm like... way to go, dude. Nice jinx.

To be fair, its the first time that's happened. Ever commentator has it happen at least once. Remember Leigh Diffey at Montreal during a Grand Am Race?

Thirded.
This JGR/Kyle Busch domination is quite questionable.

But the RCR domination or the Roush Domination wasn't? It wasn't as questionable when Penske were doing the same?

I don't see what you're trying to get at.
I never said they weren't questionable as well.

JGR has been dominating Xfinity for years. It's not a new thing. The 20 car from 2008 or 2009 won the majority of the races whichever year it was. Then NASCAR made Toyota motors use a tapered spacer because of complaints that the car was too fast. It didn't matter, that car was still the class of the field no matter who the driver. JGR has Xfinity on lock. Get over it. That program is the best out there and has been for a long time.

NASCAR Xfinity Series:

No-names are beat up here!
Cup Drivers pad their stats and wallets here!
A good nap can be had here!
Same drivers always win here!
Fans seldom come here!

Point is JGR (in particular, Kyle Busch) is this repeatly used scapegoat for Cup drivers in Xfinity and to a degree that people make it look like its only them when Roush, RCR and Penske have done the exact same. I was under the impression you were doing same.

Nah, I was just making a general statement in the context of the current state of things.

Hell, no points race at Eldora for Cup. Be good to see the guy take out anger on each other at a place that would add a "fun factor" back into the series, instead of constant "need to win, good points day" stuff. I'd pay to see that.

Cue "but it would ruin the excitment/uniqueness of the truck race" comments.

That, and an oversea exhibition race with Sprint Cup regulars mixing it up with drivers from the Whelen Euro Series or something would be interesting.
