It seems like Detroit is only interested in playing in blowouts or heart attack games. The game against the Redskins was the latter and was a 20-17 win for the Lions that came down to the last play of the game.

The cure to the Bengals woes is a dose of Browns, as the Bengals won 31-17. It should have been more, but Nugent missed two field goals, amazingly one from the 20 yard line.

I feel bad for the Browns (and Hue). They can't keep a quarterback healthy. We concussed Kessler early in the going, knocking him out for the remainder of the game. He actually didn't look too bad out there. Crowell had some nice runs against us as well. Hogan, their backup QB still played a fairly decent game too. The man can run!

Despite the win, the Bengals definitely are in need of improvement though. There were a few drives where the defense could not stop anybody, which is very troubling. On the good side, Dalton has looked great this season and Green is astounding. If you haven't seen it, check out his 40something yard one-handed catch along the sideline. It was stunning. He also pulled down a 1st half ending Hail Mary after juggling the ball (with about 4 defenders around him). It would be tough to determine who currently is the best wideout in the league. If not maybe Julio Jones, than I think AJ.

My mind is blown! what a great game to watch. Was going against David Johnson in my fantasy football league with my friends and was able to hold them off improving to 5-2 on the season 👍

Those missed chip shots reminded me of the Vikings..Blair Walsh!

That was a crazy game. I can't believe both teams' kickers missed their field goals.

I guess watching the game would have a way better use of my time than dealing with the usual weekend douchebags that frequent GTAO at night on the PS3. Oh well. At least I'll be watching MNF though.

Texans at Broncos TONIGHT!

This Monday night is miles high from any other, and in vogue tonight is the AFC as the AFC South-leading Houston Texans will meet the 3rd place in the AFC West Denver Broncos. Both teams are currently 4-2 on the season. When you've been away from home or from where you grew up, you may notice things change quite a bit. That will be the feeling when the likes of Brock Osweiler and Lamar Miller return to Denver tonight. The defending champions of the NFL and winners of the most recent Super Bowl will welcome the Texans to a Monday Night clash in the Mile High City. Prime time hasn't been too kind to the Texans. Either they can completely fail like their match at New England earlier this year, or they can win in come-from-behind fashion like this past Sunday Night when they hosted the Indianapolis Colts. Which Texans team will show up tonight, and can the Texans get their first road win of the 2016 season in their final prime time game on the schedule? Or can this Broncos squad outshine the former Broncos stars? Oh- and don't forget that former Texans coach Gary Kubiak will be on the sidelines.

Now comes the info for you betting folks. Denver is favored by 7.5 tonight, and the Over/Under is 40.5 points. Pick wisely.

Away from HOU at DEN, I heard of that Sunday Night game between Seattle at Arizona. Found out it ended in a 6-6 tie with no touchdowns- the first tie without touchdowns since 1972, I heard. Wow...

Apparently Randy Moss can kick some field goals now. He made 2 chip shots in a row during MNF pregame while they were talking about how hard it is to actually make a field goal. Nobody else on the crew made a single kick.

Geno Smith has 0 luck, apparently he tore his ACL, so now we're back to Fitztragic, although at least now he's had his yearly sacrifice of a starting QB.

Arian Foster just retired. Shame injuries marred his career because that guy was a beast in his prime.

I certainly commend former Houston Texan and current Miami Dolphin Arian Foster for his service to the Texans. I wish him the best in his retirement. Foster was one dangerous dude on the field.

And... the Broncos found the end zone again. Defense falling asleep for the Texans. Now 14-6, Broncos with 4:04 left in the 2nd Quarter. I was certain we'd find a way to f:censored: this one up. And if this continues, we'll leave Denver with a 4-3 record and remain winless on the road this season...

Arian Foster just retired. Shame injuries marred his career because that guy was a beast in his prime.

Foster was slow and out of shape as a Dolphin. He wasn't the same back even before he got injured. Another Priest Holmes-esque career.

We might need to bench Brock Osweiler and let Tom Savage (or somebody else) take snaps. We failed 27-9 up in Denver. No firepower whatsoever and all kinds of miserable play. Almost like the Texans didn't care about this game. We were up early and scored first. Denver just played better and harder. I'm not mad... just disappointed.

Up next for the Houston Texans... we're back home to be entertained by the Detroit Lions. So we're going to have a little GTPlanet rivalry between my Texans and AnthonyD1993 and Joey D's Detroit Lions.

Congratulations to the other winners from this week. Get ready for Halloween weekend of NFL football.

That result was always in the cards, I even benched Hopkins on my fantasy team. Denver was going to get revenge for Brock leaving in the offseason and if the NFL didn't make Houston go into Denver, Elway would have traded in some favors for it to happen.

I was surprised it wasn't more of a blowout because there were a lot of pissed off Broncos when he left and took the Texans' money. I thought the Patriots' shutout of Houston a few weeks ago was worse.

Football this week heads into Halloween. Week 8 offers up its tricks and treats. Here are the more interesting matches this week:

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 8: JAX Jaguars at TEN Titans
* NFL IN LONDON: WAS Redskins vs. CIN Bengals
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 8: PHI Eagles at DAL Cowboys
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 8: MIN Vikings at CHI Bears

Teams with a Bye week this week include: Baltimore, Los Angeles, Miami, NY Giants, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco. Enjoy some NFL football this week.

Why is it, and it doesn't matter who is the coach, who is on the defense, who is the defensive coordinator, how many games they've won, how healthy the team is; that Buffalo can stomp around all season and do a bunch of close games (usually losses but typically low scoring affairs) against nearly anyone in the league that they play against year after year, but when Tom Brady plays against them the Patriots get 40 points or more nearly every time?

The Houston Texans defeat the Detroit Lions 20-13. 5-0 at home for the first time in franchise history. No Texans football next week- it will be a Bye for the Texans. But when they get back to work, they will be at Jacksonville. I was also going to say that if the Texans dropped this one, Brock Osweiler should be benched.

It wasn't a pretty game, but we'll certainly take the early-and-often offense to get the early padding on this match. As a GTPlanet inner-forum rivalry and as a good sport, I handshake my good mates AnthonyD1993 and Joey D. Good luck to your Detroit Lions the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, interesting the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals tied in London. You like that? YOU LIKE THAT! Well... nobody likes ties. It wasn't like the scoreless draw between Manchester United and Burnley yesterday in another kind of football, but nothing was settled between these two in 60 minutes of regulation and 15 minutes of Overtime.

Before I was going to make this post, one game just wrapped up, and it was epic! New Orleans survives against Seattle 25-20 in New Orleans. So the Seahawks couldn't beat dem Saints.

Congratulations to all other winners from this week's games.

I quit watching after the first quarter because of how bad the Lions were playing. At least the Browns lost though so that's a plus.

Ah yes, who had it worse? The Browns or the G Podawund?

Here are some rare NFL musings from me.

* Did any of you get to see Green Bay at Atlanta? The Atlanta Falcons defeated Green Bay 33-32. Atlanta had a beautiful touchdown grab late in the game to tie the game followed by the extra point. The Packers couldn't get down the field deep enough and ended up in a Packers loss. So the Dirty Birds now have the same record as my Texans- 5-3.

* Orchard Park, NY saw their beloved Buffalo Bills get whacked 41-25 hosting the New England Patriots.

* Boy, it would sure suck if the New York Jets became a victim of the 2016 Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Indians could win the 2016 World Series tonight, but the Browns failed again with a 31-28 win by NYJ. I think the Jets trailed by a good bit at the half before Ryan Fitzpatrick and company were able to escape northeastern Ohio with a win.

* It was 30-14 in Indianapolis as the Kansas City Chiefs took down the Colts at the Colts' lovely stadium.

* Did dem' Seahawks beat dem' Saints? Nope. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans saw their Saints pull through with a 25-20 win. A happy afternoon in New Orleans.

* Regulation solved nothing in Tampa Bay. Could we have TWO ties? Nope- the Oakland Raiders sealed the deal in Overtime with a game-winning touchdown to win 30-24.

* On a lovely day at lovely Bank of America Stadium, the Carolina Panthers grounded the Arizona Cardinals 30-20.

* After properly disposing of my Texans this past Monday night, Denver disposed of the visiting San Diego Chargers 27-19.

On deck is the Philadelphia Eagles at the Dallas Cowboys. The Monday Night game is the Minnesota Vikings at the Chicago Bears. I had already reported on Lions at Texans.

Sloppy play by both teams offensively, defensively and on special teams between the Bungals and 'Skins. I wanted to say that Nugent's missed PAT cost us, but it was much more than that. Things such as another missed field goal, Dalton fumbling late in the game trying to sneak for a touchdown, or throwing an interception while in the redzone...The Redskins didn't do any better in that regard, with Cousins turning the ball over, their kicker missing two field goals himself, etc...It's as if neither team wanted to win. Or maybe they figured they would play to the fans in the UK, where they are used to seeing plenty of tie games in their own game of football (soccer).

Fun fact: The Bengals have been involved in 3 of the last 6 tie games in the NFL. '08 against the Eagles and in '14 facing the Panthers were the others.

With how bad the game was I'm kind of glad that I slept in late today, because forgot the Bengals were on early this morning.
