edit: Anyone else notice something kinda cool about the US womens gymnastics team? They have an assortment of all the American ethnicities. Dark black, light black, hispanic, blondie, and jewish.

:lol: It's gone so filthy green that the Olympic committee are going to make an announcement on the matter in the next few minutes.

Yesterday it was pretty much the same colour as the pool but now it's gone totally cloudy and looks to be going darker by the minute!

Nah, it's fine, someone just spilled their Ecto-Cooler into the filtration system.:p
Although, on a more serious note, after seeing the appalling condition of the lagoon some of the water sports are being held, I'm not sure I trust the official's report on the green water being harmless.
 
I bet the filter for that side of the pool is not working properly or someone hasn't measured the chlorine correctly, because it's deeper and outdoors it's probably algae build-up. Not exactly a danger to health but still embarrassing because this is the Olympics! people have private pools that are better maintained!

I bet the divers thought going to Rio "well at least we are not swimming in the polluted bay....":lol:

I don't understand why they didn't start draining it right after the Women's Diving last night and fill it up with some fresh water from a few tankers. At least then it will be good for another few days.
 
Two more silvers in the pool for Team GB last night and the Men's cycling time trail is under way with Geraint Thomas and Chris Froome involved.
 
Wow the US Men's beach volleyball team is extremely PISSED after that loss, one of their players quickly left the stadium after Spain made the match point.
 
Bronze for Froome, Cancellara was on another level!
 
The German divers Feck and Hausding are doing pretty well, though when the commentators say their names quickly they do sound a bit like Father Jack. Let's just be thankful that Hausding made it into the squad infront of Stefan Hell...
 
Drama at the diving centre because the stadium lights came on on a timer at 9:00 just as the Mexicans were diving. They were given a re-dive then had it taken away!

The US giving a stellar performance and GB in with a medal chance for sure.

Plus the bronze medals in cycling, judo & shooting & gold in kayak that GB won today.
 
And that's before the Cycling Velodrome and the track and field has started, its been a great start :)
 
Wow! What a game in Men's Basketball between Australia and the United States! Anyone who questioned Australia as any kind of basketball power learned that Australia is VERY solid. This may not be the FIBA World Championships or anything, but the Aussies are legit. While I'm still glad my Team USA won the game, Australia beating the USA in men's hoops wouldn't exactly be the soccer/football equivalent of Iceland defeating England.

USA defeats Australia 98-88 in Men's Basketball.

I don't think that it would necessarily have been an upset. Five of our players come from American professional teams, and France is the only other squad with as many NBA players. America is pretty much the only place our players can go, since the domestic league has been struggling for years.

Same here - that said, it is quite easy to develop a serious inferiority complex watching those chaps - especially if you happen to be eating a large deep pan meat feast pizza at the time.
