Looking at the replay, it looked like there was contact coming out of the corner where Maldonado crashed last year.

That is one hell of a car Toro Rosso have. Even given the Ferrari engine isn't that old, and it's got a Max at the wheel, I'm pretty staggered.

Why is Palmer a joke for so many people? I think he's the most underrated driver on the grid by a long way. He has some fantastic race craft.

I'm not staggered by any of this...Hamilton and Rosberg have themselves to blame, they're hired for one job. To keep the car out front and thus maximize what they do which is be aero efficient missiles. These cars don't do it very well when behind others in traffic. This has been seen over the past two seasons.
 
Strength of the undercut + Mercedes one lap pace shown there - Rosberg has gained a lot of time over Vettel.
