It's a shame this race sucked because this track seems pretty cool.
Agreed, extremely well designed track and I hope some GT racing and other disciplines make an appearance on it. NOLA is a great looking facility. 👍

Turns out Simon was just checking on Bourdais and making sure he was ok.

Really it was a case of rain (which wasn't what they tested with) and bad tire decisions. Just conspired to make a ok race go...literally down the drain.

This is only half of the track they have planned for NOLA MP. The full course, whenever it comes to fruition is going to be awesome.

And it wasn't even full distance, which makes it even worse.

Reminds me of the last New Hampshire race.

Funny how rain played a big part in both of those.

I didn't get to see as much of this race as I wanted to. From what I did see, this was pretty depressing of a race. I was surely interested learning that this course would be expanded with that South section. So the South could have TWO quality race tracks- NOLA Motorsports Park and Barber Motorsports Park.

Up next... Long Beach next weekend. I'm sure Mother Nature almost always cooperates in SoCal.

They can easily get it together by throwing TGBB out of the sport.

That's a good start. But Indycar needs a better-trained track crew & safety team as well as more usage of local yellow flags, because half of the cautions that happened today could've been shorter in duration if that were the case IMHO.

And get rid of the marshal trucks for circuit events (I've finally figured out thats why they have so many full course yellows). The marshals can't run on to the track like in F1 and other sports, that needs to be changed, then they could possibly have local yellows to pick up debris and drag cars off the circuit with out the need for a full course yellow.

Once the constant yellows started happening I started flipping between the race and the Game of Thrones marathon. Was the race shortened due to time or the incoming weather that still hadn't arrived even after the podium celebrations were over? I see the race time was 1 hour and 47 minutes. At first I thought they were up against the 2 hour time limit but I guess not.

I'm not a fan of the code 60 in any series, but in these conditions something like that could have been quite beneficial in the changing conditions, what an absolute disaster that should have been a fantastic race. Those fans got mugged big time, they should have at least added another 30 minutes of racing,
