In case people are bored, somebody did "Indycar 2035". :P

F1's futuristic renders look good (those recent ones, the open Red Bull and the closed Mclaren).

And then Indycar gets....this... xD

I don't know. The Closed McLaren looked abit...anemic.

I preferred the Red Bull myself, I only mentioned the Mclaren since some people liked it so much. The Red Bull was honestly the best, seemed believable to an extent as well.

I wonder how much the lack of a Sprint Cup race played into the higher ratings for the race.

Once is understandable, twice in a row isn't. On top of that he punted Rahal right in the back which is completely inexcusable contact. If he had any issues he should have been slowing down sooner to avoid them.

I agree that his punt seemed childish. He seemed to turn TOWARDS Graham, like a gamer using another car to brake. NOT good.

However, the second time through the chicane, it almost looked like he was getting out of Montoya's way, so I'm not going to pick him apart for that one.

We shall see. Who knows but the driver, and I doubt we will hear from him any time soon on it, as he will have to justify ramming Rahal.

Small steps. As long as ratings keep going up, that can only be a good thing.
I think the best thing Indycar could do is to follow their races right before or right after the NASCAR races when possible on the same network. More people watch which increases the chance of growing the actual fanbase, which in turn may increase attendance :D.

And with that, the Labor Day theory appears to be continuing with proof it does something.

It probably helped that there was no Cup race.

Still, I don't mind being proven wrong in cases like this. Now they just need to get ABC to let them air races on NBC.

The licenses need to stop being exclusive cable and exclusive free-to-air. Disney should be able to air races on both ESPN and ABC, and Comcast should be able to air races both on NBCSN and NBC.

What I find amazing is how active this thread was this year and how it has been growing (along with GTPlanet itself) over the past few years. This season (counting the fall and winter of the previous year) totaled to about 90 pages without the Indy 500!

Here is a list of approximately all of the years with their respective page amounts (about 14 were not included due to blending):
2015: 90
2014: 20
2013: 16
2012: 19
2011: 13
2010: 6
2009: 11
2008: 14
2007: 7
2006: 4

I think this says a lot for how the series is doing. There may be a LOT of mistakes, but they are getting people interested in them, either way.

Here's to another good year! (and the 100th Indy 500! Can't wait! :) )

That's a good move on Indycar's part for the money going to WCF.

I don't think Mark Miles being more "hands on" is a good thing though. Guy has no experience with racing and shouldn't be in the position he's in anyway.

He isn't doing a LOT more than before, but still.... Is this REALLY the best thing?

I hope that they get a replacement soon...

We shall see.

Max Chilton beats Kanaan's 18yr old Indy Lights track record at Laguna Seca for today's race. The lap of 1:14.2 puts the new generation Lights car within a second of the last ALMS LMP1 pole in 2013.
