I like Indycar, I never watched it much before, but I think I'm going to start more often. It's much more exciting to watch than it's European open wheel counterpart.. I know I'm gonna get torn apart for that. Great race and I look forward to Brazil. Nice to see Hinchcliffe on the podium this time, I'll be rooting for him this season.

I think he's mad at the marshals for tending to other cars first when in fact they were all technically still racing.

I thought that was quite dumb too, he was ahead of all of them too, wasn't he?
 
Graham Rahal has been put on a 6 race probation for blocking Marco Andretti and causing him to go airborne and crash

Good move by the race officials, that move was extremely dangerous and reminds me of Jeff Krosnoff's accident. Thankfully this time everyone walked away OK
 
Guess what I just found out: Now along with Formula One Management and Dorna (Moto GP), Indycar now have rules that ban anyone other then the TV networks from showing On-track action. Seriously, what the hell? In a time that they are trying to get more fans, why would they do that? Wouldn't you try to pursue for as much publicity as possible?
 
How predictable indeed, this started last year when Lotus were still messing about when the teams were trying to sort out their deals. Not to mention the delayed payments for the ECUs, etc. Half-hearted effort achieves half-hearted results.

This is kind of what annoys me about the way Lotus has plastered its name in almost every motosport series going - its not that they are getting involved to win, but simply to exist. In this example, look at Chevrolet - did their homework, spent the money and gave themselves enough time to properly test, develop and organise their entry into Indycar. Result? Victories.

Its not even like Lotus are helping small teams compete as they are just restricting their performance with their poor engines. I'm sure many people are wondering what the likes of Sebastien Bourdais could have achieved with a Chevrolet engine in that Dragon. Clearly its got to the point now for these two teams that the cheaper engine deal has become more trouble than its worth.
 
I love Lotus but it has to lend more backing. Black and gold cars are cool... if they actually have support.
 
People seem to be commenting alot about how Chevy is doing well because they did more research...

Hasn't Honda had the monopoly on Indy engines for a bazillion years? If so, they should have had PLENTY of time to develop a new engine, if all they were doing the past 5 years was building the same design and giving it to teams...
 
^Whenever Indycar decided to change engine regulations, it was no doubt done when they had talked to several manufacturers to agree on the specifics to make sure they joined.
So Honda, Chevrolet and Lotus all had the same amount of time to prepare - basically from whenever the agreement was made.

I'm sure Honda spent a similar amount of time and money as Chevrolet preparing, but the reason everyone praises Chevrolet is because its expected that Honda would have a good engine due to their experience (or rather, Ilmor's experience).

That's because Autosport is pretty much in the pocket of Lotus. Lotus sponsor the Autosport International Show every January, and as a result, they get some very favourable coverage on the site (and, I'd assume, in the actual magazine). Lotus-related stories have been run as their lead articles more than any other subject this year, the most-recent of which was Eric Boullier saying that Romain Grosjean can be World Champion (compare that to people singing the praises of Sergio Perez, which were never run as the lead story). So it's advisable to take just about anything Autosport says about Lotus with a grain of salt. Lotus are paying the bills, and they're getting some very favourable coverage as a result.
 
I don't know the stats on the engines, or claim to know them, but it would appear that the Chevy V6 has a bit more torque in it and that might be why they adjusted the turbo on the Honda?

Still not sure why Chevy would appeal that decision. They have been dominant and I have a feeling that won't be changed by that decision. It's just going to bring Honda a bit closer to the Chevies.
 
Can someone bring me up to speed with what's been happening?? I was watching the last BTCC race and I'm watching the last 25 laps now.
