Worst wreck I've seen in quite some time in indycar, worst I seen this year since Le Mans. I just hope the outcome for the driver comes out just as positive.

My goodness the entire roll bar that protects the drivers head is missing completely! Very scary. Once again, I hope he's okay. I heard the media is heading to the hospital to get an update as to how Dan's doing.

There's a little piece left that looks higher than his head, hopefully he was protected by that
 
There are plenty of replays coming up on Youtube now for the events at the track today... I saw one for Will Power's in car cam as he went airborne.

Scary stuff.
 
They just showed the replay again from the helicopter cam. Dan's car went airborne from the bottom of the track all the way to the catchfence. Nothing to slow him down between those two points.
 
They finally showed the replay again, albeit from the aerial camera.
 
There will be something known within the next two hours (its 5:19 EDT now). The race will be called within the next 30 minutes.
 
That catch fence was mangled.....Danica seemed very upset a couple minutes ago, I was concerned that AA was called to the trailer prior to Drivers meeting
 
I was there when Dan won the 2011 Indy 500 and was so excited for him, lots of hope that he is ok.
 
I really have no idea why they are mentioning that Meira's car is out of the race. The race won't be restarted.

Seeing Danica like that made me think they just received the worst possible news, but I'd still like to believe Ashely Judd's tweet that Dan Wheldon is unconscious but has good vital signs. Hope Dan's ok.
 
Just heard about it and saw a video, horrible, just horrible.
Let's hope everyone will recover from it soon and fully.

It is going to be called off. Its simply a formality now. Even if its not called off (which is extremely unlikely), majority of the teams and drivers will not go back out there.
