And Whingecup gets the pole award unfortunately. Anyone but him or Van Gisbergen. Can't stand them. Would've rathered Dale Wood to get pole, if I'm honest.

Whingecup is a shocking effort for an insulting nickname. Every time I see anything to do with him on Facebook, all you see is 'Whingecup' comments. He's not even known to be a whinger. Can't say the same for his boss, though. Personality wise, I actually reckon Whincup is pretty good, although it does get very boring when he goes on his dominant runs.

He's a boring Champion.

I agree.

The only thing I don't like about Whincup is when he pulls above average bonehead moments, but that's more on the jealous side that he can pull so many bonehead moves yet still be a dominant V8 driver and it actually does make him stand out from the other drivers.

I don't like drivers who are overall nice guys, don't play aggressively and play underdog (I'm fine with 1 or 2 but not all 3), that's gotten far too boring. I don't want driver to act like 🤬, but at least have some sort of style and personality blame my love for Professional Wrestling on this, which rely on characters in their competition-like storylines.

Overall, I was intrigued with how the whole shootout a lot of drivers did horrible with only the top 6 consistent with qualifying times.

To all those whinging about Jamie Whincup calling him Whingecup, ever looked in the mirror hypocrites?

It was really odd not seeing a HRT car or Dave Reynolds in the shootout,

Garth Tander was in the shootout.

Speaking of the Dunlop Series, I still don't get why the VE Commodores are not only still around but faster than the VF Counterparts, I thought the VF Commodores were faster due to different regulations.

I think that largely depends on who's in the seat & the guys turning the spanners.

Well my understanding from memory of what I've been reading in the last few months is that Tanders HRT car was his Bathurst winning VE from 2011 until recently, so I guess the chassis are more or less the same with the required updates, though from memory the VE and FG in the development series were faster then the CoTF chassis in their first year at Bathurst,

I know it's Paul Dumbrell in the wheel but even the most up to date Ford Falcon FG Xs ran by Prodrive Racing with 2 exceptional drivers couldn't keep up with an old school VE.

IMO, that'd be largely because they were too busy carving each other up & let PD escape up the road. Once a leader has a gap, he can maintain it at will if the car under him is up to it & he's a quality steerer.

The Dunlop Series tech regs are a bit different then the main game. Iirc, they made some adjustments to ensure to Blueprint and Cotf cars were equal. Without it the cotf cars would be faster and the teams running Blueprint cars say they still are.

Keep a look out for his Bathurst lap with Dick Johnson. DJRTP FB page mention Fox and 10, will broadcast it Sunday at some point.
Dick takes him for a lap in a FG X XR8 & hopefully it's a spirited lap instead of a dawdle at sightseeing pace.

Should be both. Do a lap at sightseeing pace so that Penske can appreciate where the road actually goes. After all, it's terrifying even at 60km/h. Then do a lap at racing speed.

When I first heard Mr.Penske was making a visit to Bathurst, I first thought he'd go for a lap in one of his cars - probably Coulthard.
Then I had a moment of clarity & realised it probably wouldn't be too easy for someone of Roger's vintage to get in & out of a Supercar, not to mention what it would do for the Captain's heart rate  :scared:

It will be fun to watch. I enjoy seeing first impressions of the track, nothing can prepare you for just how steep the dipper is in real life, it's just incredible.

Also I've got to wonder why Supercar sessions never start at a nice rounded time on the hour/half hour. I always get caught scrambling to get to the TV in time.

I've driven the track in a road car and there are parts that you can't even hold the 60km/h speed limit through. I was also surprised by how tight The Chase feels. Can't wait to drive it in anger...

2007 race is being replayed at the moment. Has to be one of the most exciting climaxes to the race that I can recall. Such a good finish.

So many Peter Brock tributes today, absolutely amazing,

That Capri has been flying all weekend. That red xd is amazing to look at (I have a strange fascination with xd's) but it sure has let Seton skip away

Great passing. Two place switches on one straight. Who needs parity? :sly:

Allowing these NZ cars in proves lots of horsepower makes up for a distinct lack of talent at a place like Bathurst.
Nice idea but I hope they don't EVER do this again.

That awkward moment where Roger Penske offers to shake your hand and you give him the thumbs-up ...

Darrell Waltrip's hotlap with Jason Bright was better.

Are there any teams that could actually afford him?
If you love what you do then money shouldn't be an issue and I'm sure if he had a go around this track he'd do it for free there isn't a track like it any where.

Bathurst usually clashes with the Japanese Grand Prix, which is one of Button's favourites.
