By rights, McLaughlin probably should have as well. Caruso was ahead when he tried to rejoin, so McLaughlin really should have yielded. And, of course, there was the way they got the elbows out at the end of pit lane.
 
It just occurred to me that if the #97 wins, it'll be the first time an Aussie hasn't won Bathurst :eek:
Internationals have won numerous times but always as a co-driver to an Aussie.
 
Don't know what Skaife was on about. There was no advantage for Pye. They are behind in pit stops.

Edit: scratch that. Pye has one more stop. He should be good to the finish.
 
Decent effort to Slade/Walsh on the lead lap, might still be a fair way out of contention, but still a good effort.
 
Man, DJR could be a real force if they stopped trying weird strategies. Pye could have been in a great spot had they pit a couple safety cars ago instead of waiting for this one.

Edit: New brakes, green tires, and back on the lead lap for Slade. He could do something here.

To be fair, the day was pretty quiet until the safety car for Jones, and then there were three within the space of about fifteen laps.
 
Mostert very slow on Conrod. Team telling him to park it, but he is committed getting back to the pits.
 
When they were onboard with an HRT car going down the lane I saw at least 2 other cars get released the same way.

I agree. I don't think any penalty should of been handed out. Just an odd situation led to that congestion. No contact happened either.

Pye is actually ok. He just has to do one stop. Some are fuel conserving for 2 more stops.

I feel indifferent about this safety car and it's timing. Gurantees a win for Whincup unfortunately.
