Good looking car 👍 I can dig the black wheels on this.

And looking at the hood, it's even more obvious that the Castrol logo on Frosty's car was just plopped on with no regard for how it ties in with the rest of the design.
Super cheap were not havin' it. ;)

Not my favourite Supercheap livery ever but it's not half bad. The black bonnet definitely suits Chaz's car more than it does Frosty's.

So I guess I missed the fact that there is no "everyone in" test session at SMP this year?

Mostert's ride.

That's actually pretty cool.

Well Bathurst 12HR is no longer a rival so no dirty scheduling needed.

I just thought that was kind of a tradition lately was to have the preseason test at SMP. I actually prefer SMP over Winton to be honest.

I'd actually prefer Greg Rust to Mark Skaife. Rust was terrible as an F1 presenter but actually does alright with V8 Supercars. Skaife on the other hand just yells and criticises drivers for any move they make and is far from impartial. What we really need, though, is Mark Larkham back in the pit lane.

Cause Skaife was the best, don't question him

Definitely. 👍

I don't mind the change in commentary. Skaife and Crompton did a good job a couple of years ago after Matt White left to join channel 10 mid way through the season.

Though having said that, anything is better than listening to Matt White call a race.

When White left to go to 10, I thought we'd finally got rid of the pain in the *** then look what happened.
He's a paid presenter so, really, no better than the product whores you get on the scripted infomercials.

I just realized Mostert is running the #55, did I miss something here?

PRA switched him over to RNR to avoid double stacking him & Frosty this year. Smart move when you think about it but it will hurt them in the team championship.

He's been moved across to RNR. The advantage is that he and Winterbottom won't share a pit bay, so there's no danger of double-stacking.

Am I the only person that has no issues with the TV commentators?

Probably, but I have had issues with commentators unless its Murray Walker, he was probably the only person who could pick a car by wing mirror colour,

All they'd need is Noonan and Larkham. These guys stick to the facts. Have a wealth of knowledge and can call a race like it's a radio broadcast.

Crompton plays devil's advocate and Skaife will repeat what someone says as if it's his own thought.

Going back to the video above, I wonder how many cars will change engines for the next season or two. Going to miss the V8's, hopefully some of them stick around for a while. I assume Holden will be switching to the TT V6 we've heard so little about?

I can't even call that one. I'd like to think Volvo switch. They have the chassis(as do Nissan) but, I don't know if they are in development of their B6T5 for race purposes.

I figure those that race in other touring car series around the world can probably use something they already have been using elsewhere. Nissan has a few options with the GT-R 3.8L, LMP1 3.0L or the Super GT (2.0L?). Volvo has a couple options I am sure. Holden is obviously working on something and Ford is probably as good as dead. We just need more manufactures to come in...

The LMP1 3.0L V6 is an east west engine so that'll require quite a bit of work if it's to go into the Altima I would think.
They'd be better off running the GT3 engine.
The thing is, I haven't seen any concrete, locked-in rules regarding engines from the people making the decisions.
That being the case, I'd be running the current driveline until that started to fall behind the benchmark, whatever that'll be.

Ok you're the expert but I'm pretty sure that engine was turning the front wheels at Le Mans.
It was. Think of it like a Subaru engine. Still facing front to back but still able to turn the front wheels. I'm sure there was some trick drivetrain wizardry going on.

Ford will be a part of the series longer then Datsun I assure you, Ford and Holden have several hundreds of thousands of fans, the fact that there are teams still running the Falcon without manufacturer money only proves my point, if Nissan drop factory money then the Kelly's will drop the Altima faster then Nissan dropped that embarrassing disaster called an LMP1,

Jeeze man, why so harsh? Have a bad day? Damn.

Harsh? No, honest? Yes, they will drop it and become a customer car team again, GRM will do the same with Volvo if Volvo drop support,
