I'm not entirely sure that Brad know what exclusive means.

I thought the announcement was pretty clear. If you want to run a Holden in 2018 and beyond, you have to buy a T8 built car. You can't build your own.
All chassis have to conform to CoTF regulations, the fundamentals are the same across all cars, they will have to buy the aero parts from T8, and possibly engines, otherwise you can get the rest from wherever you please,

I'm trying to pick up some merchandise but not sure if it can be done cheaper than just getting it directly from Nissan Motorsport's website. Don't want to pay $45 to ship a $15 hat if I can avoid it.

Head to Sydney Motorsport Park on Friday and see five motorsport categories on track for free throughout the day.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship hits the circuit for two hour-long sessions, and will be joined by Porsche Australia and Asia, the GT Championship and the Toyota 86 series for the Red Rooster Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint.

The 26 Supercars will push through crucial running time before the weekend’s racing, some teams throwing their additional drivers in for the last opportunity at a meeting before Sandown kicks off the long-distance races next month.

Expect Pirtek Enduro Cup co-drivers to suit up for other categories too, with Todd Kelly’s co-driver Matt Campbell leading the Carrera Cup pointscore; and Dean Canto, who will steer with Mark Winterbottom, tackling the Toyota 86s.

The GTs will qualify for Saturday morning’s 101-lap enduro – look out for TV personality Grant Denyer who recently challenged the Supercars stars on the buzzer for All Star Family Feud. It’s a stunning field of big-name makes, with Audi, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini contesting the event.

The mad dash will be on for Porsche Asia also, with international stars qualifying on their first day at the circuit.

The Auto Show will be displayed near the grandstand, with fans able to browse a huge display of cars and bikes, with private owners showing off unique vehicles from around the country.

Head to merchandise alley for all the latest team gear, and you never know who you will spot in the pit lane paddock on practice day, with drivers often able to stop for a quick photo or autograph.

DJR Penske in MAN colors this weekend.

Was Roland Dane reading off of a teleprompter or something during that interview? He had about as much personality as a house brick.

I did like Skaife's suggestion of Walkinshaw bringing back the HSVDT nameplate back next year.

Watching "Inside Supercars" now. Could Ingall's man-crush on van Gisbergen be any more obvious?
All the commentators have a man crush on him. Can't see how or why because there's more talented drivers in the paddock than him, and ones that hold themselves better, and don't, I dunno, fake a retirement to go back home and get out of driving a Merc and then come back driving for a completely different team.

Bitter much?

Care to name who you think has more talent?

Like him or not, you put any personal bias aside, you would have to pretty blind not to see that SVG is one of the most naturally gifted drivers on the grid. The man drives all sorts of cars and drives them all very fast !!

And just in regards to SVG's 'fake retirement'....Wether he did what he did intentionally or not really is none of our business because we don't get to see what is really going on behind the scenes. Even if it was intentional I don't hold it against him, he probably saw that the Merc wasn't going to be a factory effort and would probably not succeed, and left to get a better opportunity....And well, looking at their results he made exactly the right decision ! I would even say put any other top driver in the same position and they probably would've done the same thing too.

It's a fact. He faked a retirement stating personal issues, then came back weeks later. This exact thing is happening with Keiran Foran (except the retirement) as he opted out of the Eels stating serious personal issues and not even a month later, he's trying to sign with the Warriors. Now, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that personal issues take more than a few weeks to get over properly.

As for people with more talent: Scott McLaughlin, Craig Lowndes, you could probably put Whincup there too, maybe even James Courtney. Flashy driving skills doesn't mean you're the most talented driver ever.

Plenty of other drivers drive other types of cars, and do well. He isn't alone there.

So faking a retirement and essentially taking the piss out of anyone who's retired for those reasons, is pretty poor. Yeah sure, we don't know all the details, but come on, that sort of stuff takes months, not weeks, to get over.

And if he wanted to get out of SBR because of the Mercs, just say it. Don't hide behind the reason. I'd honestly have more respect for him had he stayed there, struggled for a bit but performed above expectations, and built a team around him. To fake retirement just to get out of driving a Merc, is poor and something that is gonna take a while for him to earn back the respect he lost.

He's a good driver but he lacks class really. Some people don't care, others do. I struggle to like him because of the SBR saga too but he can certainly drive.

I sold my Scalextric SVG Falcon a couple weeks ago, after finding it in a packing box.
Just when he was my next favorite driver, he jumped ship. Thing is, he's fast and cunning.

He'll place the car effectively, where as other drivers are content to play follow the leader. He's matured from his maiden win, when I'm sure most of us enjoyed watching. Plus, he admitted his driving in the grass was suspect in hindsight.

Talent, man. No matter anyone's hate towards him. He's a talented driver.

Maybe SVG will tell us all about it one day.

I suspect he was rather serious about retirement and his personal problems centred around motivation.
I certainly wouldn't have been happy having signed a contract to drive Fords for SBR only to have that same contract sold as a commodity to Betty and the being told the Fords are going to be replaced with Mercs and no factory support.
Given those two options, I would've 'retired' too.

I dunno, I think SVG is a pretty cool guy. We might never know what really happened with the SBR/Erebus deal, as far as I'm concerned he's innocent until proven guilty. Also like I've mentioned previously in this thread, I've met him and he seemed like a decent, and pretty shy guy at the time (back in his SBR days). He also dated a friends sister, and even though they've broken up now, that friend is still very fond of him. So as far as him as a person, there's no doubt he's a good guy. He's occasionally made some questionable moves on track, but I have no doubt Triple 8 will iron those mistakes out of him.

The kid was stale like Ricky Bobby in front of a camera. I think he's embracing the Red Bull "all eyes on me" way of doing things. He actually has no choice. It's a huge brand.

Who would possibly take up the RECs if this team dies at the end of the year? Could be a certain female slotting in with maybe a veteran driver next season?
Honestly, I'm sure it won't happen. Not enough time for a team to buy in and take over. Or maybe a resourceful team owner can. Erebus built 3 cars in a few months.

Would SuperBlack go on their own and give (sell) their REC to PRA?
Are Eggleston interested in a step a up?

I think LDM might keep going for now. Just need their sponsorship efforts to pay off.

I don't know how long the contracts for Percat and Heimgartner are. Percat been there since 2014. So, maybe he's happy to at least have a drive. Things may hang on if Courtney leaves or whatever GRM are doing.

Not sure about Heimgartner but Percat's contract is up at the end of this year. He's been linked to a return to Walkinshaw but lately there's been some talk of him joining BJR.

Couldn't they have waited one more round to use the GTA livery? At least keep these colors and change the letters to GT Academy.
