(moved from other thread to keep on topic)

Insert great idea here: Todd steps aside to start his own Dunlop Series team using one of the Altima's and GT Academy graduates. He could also partner with Rick during the enduro's.

Man I'm a genius. ;)

Even better, use one of the graduates in the main game. Cant be any worse than what Wood is. Rick/Caruso/Courtney and a GT Academy driver. That would be a great line up

Either way, he should step down. Forget that continuity thing for next year. If he wants the team to move forward come 2018, would be prudent to get a next driver now, to gel with the team before then.

This can be good. Imagine the Kellys have a budget for Courtney. The snatch him. Todd steps down and VASC fund Simona at Nissan. Percat goes to Walkinshaw. Caruso, R.Kelly, Courtney and T.Kelly do the 12H next year in the GT-R. They're running the car under the Kelly banner anyway.

Pye and Percat at Walkinshaw.

Tander and Golding at GRM.

Heimgartner or Moffat goes to BJR

Or

Wood or Moffat to Erebus

I love it when a plan comes together. :D

Not for nothing but, this has to be a tie-in to Nissan Austalia's movement to get young people interested in their cars. I posted an Article about it in the GT-R thread. This is a great way to get her in a GT-R GT3 at some point.

I'm all for people getting a drive on merit alone, not gender, budget or some other diverse marketing reason.

What's next? A drive awarded to someone just because they're of indigenous origin?

To be honest I'm fine that the Supergirls team is a thing. Women have obviously never had as big of a part in Motorsport as men have and all this promotion is good to get girls involved the sport more. What I don't like is choosing a driver based more so on looks and marketability than race talent (ahem.. Renee Gracie).

Renee admitted she's not ready for the main game. I think she would do better driving a COTF in DVS though. She hasn't been in last place often. If she did have a car like the drivers up the front, she could be up there.

I've always thought that the purple Supercheap livery on the AU back in the day, looked rather good. Not sold on it with the FG-X though.

So how many retro livery's have been revealed atm for the retro round?

What is the obsession with retro rounds?

Was hit last year in NASCAR when they had it for the first time, so V8 Supercars have decided to jump on the wagon. It's pretty marketable when done properly and also gives some of the lesser teams (if they want to run with it) some attention when revealing one off designs and such.

The retro liveries were done at the 2012 Bathurst 1000. From there, individual teams have been doing them.

And I can understand doing it to celebrate a milestone. But now it's apparently being done for the sake of it. And it's not just V8 Supercars doing it; Foxtel are heavily promoting the NRL retro rounds as well. Part of me thinks that it might be a response to the success of the AFL's multicultural and indigenous rounds.

Can you really call a livery from 2002, retro though?

The NRL have had their own indigenous round for the past few years too.

Retro is usually 20+ years from current. I don't know about one from 14years ago. Maybe they'll use one from 20 years ago at the Bathusrt round.

Edit:...and something from left field. I'm watching the WTCC round at Motegi. Yes, Warburton needs to make a VASC round there. The stands don't looked packed but, this track is perfect for Supercars.

I don't follow it. The A-League is my football code. To be blunt, I find the NRL to be pretty embarrassing. Most of the players are pretty thuggish, and the news is always full of reports about their bad behaviour.

Both football codes have a different round every few weeks. It sells one off jerseys, just a money maker. I actually think retro round is one of the better ones they come up with and fox markets it very well.

I'm not too sure what the NRL do, but the 'retro round' in the AFL this year was just run by Fox, no part of it was run by AFL itself.

But yeah, those speciality rounds are just cash machines, under the guise of doing good.

Nissan need to come on so we know what's up. They're about 4hours behind. Hopefully there is a word.
