VASC could bill it with a Super GT round or WTCC/BTCC in Japan. No doubt it would be a hit. I don't know how the funds are split but, that would be awesome primetime viewing.
If VASC did Japan, May & August bring Autopolis & Fuji, respectively.

Japan, man. Japan. Suzuka and or Sugo.
I'm not seeing it myself. There just doesn't seem to have been any interest in going there, nor any interest from them in hosting a round.

Warburton trying to bank on Australian tourism to Thailand.
I'm not so sure. There is burgeoning interest in motorsport in Thailand. Buriram hosts rounds of the WTCC and TCR International, and there are a few Thai motorcycle riders and open-wheel racers. Plus there were plans for a Thai Grand Prix before the coup d'etat a few years ago. Granted, the Thai scene is under-developed, but I don't think that it's purely relying on tourism.

It's a shame that the KL City race fell apart. It wasn't an outstanding event, but Malaysia had potential. They really should go to Sepang.

Warburton's big push for KL was Australians paying a visit to Malaysia. That was his main focus next to the interest of motor racing there. The fact some sponsors(Red Bull and the sponsor that Erebus showcased) have bases there, is a fair point.

I doubt the series would go to Japan. Weird how they went to China and Africa, bypassing Japan but, hey.

I've been calling for a joint Super GT / Supercars event at the Chang circuit for years. Would make for an excellent double header.

Not sold on a street circuit in Thailand though. I feel like the permanent facilty (Chang) is a far more sensible option in many ways.

Just slap that GT500 600+hp 2.0T in there.

That would be a smooth power plant. Make good boost. I'd like to see that 2.0 just because it's in Super GT. For comparison, I'd also like to see engine weights and power at the mandated 7500rpm cut off.

I think that's the best choice to be honest. Golding is obviously faster, but he can be a bit erratic sometimes. Wall, while obviously not fast, or particularly good, he is smart enough to be able to bring the car home safe.

So far, Pye and possibly Wood may go to Walkinshaw and Courtney heavily(I don't believe it) linked to Nissan.

Edit: And possible decision by Nissan on Monday.

Where'd you see Wood got to Walkinshaw? Would never happen I don't think. They wouldn't stoop so low.

On Inside Supercars. That journalist(not Phelps).
Tander may go to GRM. His agent was in amongst GRM managment over the weekend.
Until everything is in stone, it's all speculation. Most likely, once Nissan do their thing, we'll all know.

If Walkinshaw had to settle for Wood, he may as well shut up shop at the end of the season & be done with it.
Move into the GT category with the Porsches, anything but that.

I can't see it either. They can't be that desperate for a sponsor, to take him over a DVS driver.

It sucks that teams will simply choose a driver because they have money rather than driving talent.

It's almost a necessity in some cases, such as the really rough post-Schwerkolt days at DJR.

Lots of news to follow up for next year.

*Hopefully GRM can keep the Volvos (will still be cool to see them). Moffat has been disappointing, in my eyes at least, so replacing him with Golding is not bad IMO
*Percat to replace Bright would be great for BJR, Brighty is not what he used to be and probably should look at retiring
*Pye to Walkinshaw would also be great to see but if both Tander and Courtney leave, who would drive the 2nd car?
*Heres hoping that Nissan will continue funding, keep Rick and Caruso, bring in Courtney and a new 4th driver. Todd is not bad but just not consistent enough anymore and Wood is just well... Wood.
*I dont know much about de Silvestro but good on her if she can get a drive. I just hope they are doing it for the right reasons and not just for commercial reasons to get a female in to a full time drive

Over the next few seasons we will start to see a changing of the guard. The likes of Tander, Bright, T.Kelly, Lowndes, Courtney etc are reaching the end of their careers.

Some have considerably more in them than others. Courtney and Lowndes could keep winning for another decade; the others should have quit years ago.

Great question. I'm glad to see that Ryan has apparently ruled out the possibility of a paid driver next year. They might be forced down that route though, if both GT and Courtney do leave. There doesn't seem to be many other options out there.

LeBrocq is a weird situation. I don't know how PRA wrestled him from Betty. He was a force in the SLS(well, pretty much every driver she has had in the SLS anyway). He did well in the Erebus DVS Falcon. Some how, his agent must have been pretty slick.
Sorry but, PRA should get that REC from SBR. Place LeBrocq there and you have the future secured with Mostert, Waters, LeBrocq. Frosty has years in him still.

Walkinshaw have an opportunity to start fresh with likeable Pye. Maybe they should put DeSilvestro in the 2nd seat. Would be great for Walkinshaw's image.

Give that Nissan seat to Campbell. Please! Imagine: Courtney, Campbell, Caruso and R.Kelly. I believe they could scrap at the top 5 every race.

Percat and Slade at BJR is a bit scary. They would be banking points like how Coulthard did when he was there.

I actually think Tander would be just as good as The Future in the S60. He is pretty tough in the so-so HRT. Imagine in a speedier car. Might even qualify better. Then, we'll see what he can do. Just hope they can keep the cars and engines.

That's messed up. Obviously it was to get Premat more seat time before the enduros. Screws up an entry to make the field look a little bigger.

Edit: Please, Todd. Do the right thing and move over. Be the boss and let Courtney and someone else get those seats.
(moved from other thread to keep on topic)

Insert great idea here: Todd steps aside to start his own Dunlop Series team using one of the Altima's and GT Academy graduates. He could also partner with Rick during the enduro's.

Man I'm a genius. ;)
