There were at least 4-5 other very close calls with the PC before the Deltawing got there.

I noticed that too, looked like 2 cars got within inches. Someone was bound to hit him. Not a good spot for the marshal waving the yellow flag.

WHY THE 🤬 DID THEY NOT CALL THE CAUTION!!!!???? IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF 🤬 THE ROAD!!!! 2 HOURS AGO WHEN THE FORD GT HAD PROBLEMS, IT PULLED OFF THE TRACK AND THEY CALLED THE 🤬 CAUTION!!! SO WHY NOT THIS 🤬 TIME!!!!???

IMSA, here's what you do:

  • Car in the grass or off in a location that isn't dangerous that has not hit a barrier hard (Ford Gt for example), local yellow, VSC/code 60, or a short safety car period if its too dangerous for marshals to get to the car.
  • Car right in the middle of the track in the most dangerous location, immediate safety car.

The radio wasn't working. The only people at fault for this are the complete pillocks at IMSA.
Seems like the crash fixed it. Go figure.

Couldn't agree with everyone any more, the one time they should have went to immediate FCY...oh IMSA! At least it didn't cost anyone their life.

Well, now that the Deltawing is out, maybe the 55 can pull off an upset win.

I need that 60 to get their rears in gear and GO GO GO!

That explains things. Are they interviewing the DeltaWing crew now?

Also it's just gotten a lot quieter now...

I don't know that they're much better really.

Exactly. Its annoying that people put the FIA on this damn pedestal when there is loads of examples that they aren't perfect either.

Two people at fault here:
  • Guy in charge at IMSA for not telling them to go full course caution
  • Driver of the Deltawing for not listening to his spotter.

Yeah, race control needs another massive overhaul. These caution periods and questionable calls ready are the big obstacles in the way of what can be a great series.

As for Andy, supposedly he didn't hear that on that lap prior to the incident.

At the very least, if you are spinning, you should make an effort to get the car to spin off the track and out of the way at the fastest, blind corner on the track.

I hope the damage isn't quite as bad as it seems. I'm confident they'll get it back out fairly soon. There's still over 20 hours to go, you never know what can happen...

Well the #55 is leading, hopefully they can win this. 👍

IMSA making NASCAR's officials look absolutely brilliant right now.
Well bar the debris cautions for tiny things and caution clocks, yeah.

I think you put way too much faith into their driving abilities considering they usually have a hard time controlling the car when it's going the right way.
