So wheres the problem. If Corvette opened it up abit at the end and they knew, why did they get hammered?

If you paid attention to what IMSA told the teams at the test, that they would get hit hard for sandbagging and if the Vettes did "open it up at the end" then you have answered your own question.

Regardless, everyone does it everywhere. I understand what your saying there though. Sandbagging is pretty bad, but it was obvious everyone did it, so why they hit the Vettes just because they got on it abit is pretty ridiculous even if they did use it to win. THe other teams just decided not to. Oh well, system is broken anyway

Edit: I will say though, the fact that you brought that up does make me feel less annoyance towards IMSA. I wasnt around for the preseason testing so I had no knowledge of this Comment. Still, they are swift to act on the cars in harsh ways whether they sandbag or not.

Corvette were pegged back because they were not only the fastest car in the 1st 3 sectors (infield) at Daytona they were also the fastest on the banking so either they had 30 HP more than the rest of the field or the car is the most aerodynamic GT car ever built.

See this is the actual Data I enjoy seeing. To be honest, I do think the Corvette deserved a notch back, just its how far back IMSA put it that I dont agree with. I still feel they pushed it more than the rest overall. When you come down into a corner, you can brake earlier and get on the gas later to create two things. Sandbagging, and conservation of fuel. Even looking at all of these margins, the Corvette doesnt have anything drastic on the other cars in sectors. Its very small, and I would guess its caused by that last push.

However, Look at which Corvette specifically did it, the #3. This was the Vette that opened up at the end to run down his teammate. The #3 wanted to win and this burst got the entire team set back on power and weight. Theres no massive aero or power advantages here. Restrictor is barely like 0.3mm up from last year and its the same motor which had an average output of 470 to 490 Horsepower. These cars are for the most part full aero upgrades and a few small things. If its overpowered somewhere, its going to be aero which is fairly unlikely.

The Vette is gonna be slowed to walking pace when they get overall win...

If the rain holds, I'd be expecting the 911s to win it all if its a GTLM car that wins.

At least DHH won't be parked on twitter complaining about everything for the entire weekend.

True, he will be able to tell faux/Imsa tv in person how stupid the pit stop procedure is. I for one am looking forward to that.;)

Makes sense to have Laguna Seca be split. Track isn't really suited to having the full field on it at the same time.

Shank racing likely to skip Detroit race to focus on Le Mans entry per MWM.

Saturdays rain chances dropped significantly for Sebring from 80% the last few days to 60% today. Highest chance between 2 and 5pm.
