Terrible result for TNS.

They lost their manager recently so everything is a bit up in the air at the moment. All they need to do is win the second leg by two clear goals.

Forza Europa!

I hope Celtic ragdoll them but lord knows I don't take anything for granted with this team.

Celtic have opted to take no tickets for the away leg. Much to dismay of many Ireland-based Celtic fans who are being denied the chance to see their team. The match will also be played on July 14th.

Deep breath if your a Celtic fan eh?
Oh for sure. Absolute nailbiter of a match. Not having a striker for 145 minutes of the tie was brutal but when Griffiths came on we looked a lot more comfortable. A lot of injuries dealt with too and getting an away win showed a good amount of steel. As soon as Rosenborg started to attack their fragility showed. Onward to the next round, just happy to have guaranteed at least EL footie next year!

Today's play-off round draw takes place at 11AM BST.

I'm hoping Celtic avoid Beer Sheva, they are a very strong side.

OP updated. Another trip to Astana for Celtic, happy to avoid Reijka and Beer Sheva. Going to be a very tense affair.

Any chance we can talk about the Super Cup here?.

Always been unsure of where we can talk about it..

Sure! I'd say General football chat would cover it off though? After all, I talk about Scottish football in there. :D

I thought it would be best to talk about it here as there is the current Champions League holders taking part plus two of this years Champions League participants.

Anywhoo, the game is tomorrow night between Real Madrid and Man United in Macedonia, I don't have too much hope for my lot but as long as we play our part ill be happy. There will be drinks breaks during the match as most of Southern and Eastern Europe as in the midst of a massive heatwave.

There will be drinks breaks during the match as most of Southern and Eastern Europe as in the midst of a massive heatwave.

It's been 35-39 in Bratislava, which is in central Europe for what it's worth, and believe me it's tough to play sports here at the moment. Skopje is 2-3 hours further south so if it's even warmer there I don't blame the lads for wanting a drink during the game.

Then again, you think ahead to the WC in Qatar and you think a player might die of heat exhaustion when a Middle Eastern summer is 45+ in humid conditions; would make a change from the slaves dying in construction accidents, I suppose.

And to think our entire football season is in our summer time where 40+ degree days are not unusual.

Lindelof, Matic and Lukaku all start for United, Bale does start for Real but Ronaldo is on the bench.

2 very strong squads named for the starting 11.

Hopefully it will be an interesting and entertaining match, as for me I hope both teams win.

Real Madrid win the Super Cup 2-1 against Manchester United.

United were good in the first 10 minutes, but the rest of the first half was horrible. Real started off slow but showed improving form as the half progressed.

United did make a decent-to-good second half and Lukaku scored United's goal.

Casemiro and Isco score for Real Madrid. Isco's goal was also after some beatiful play with Benzema to Isco to Bale with a smart pass back to Isco to put it in the corner of the net. Bale should have scored but smashed it on the underside of the crossbar and out.

Pretty entertaining match, but alot of progress ahead for both teams to compete at their top level.
