The first issues can be settled tomorrow!

National League
If Macclesfield Town better Tranmere Rovers' result, Macclesfield will be promoted to League Two.

League Two
If Accrington Stanley (who are they? Exactly) beat Exeter City, Accrington Stanley will be promoted to League One.

League One
If Bury fail to win, they will be relegated to League Two.

Championship
If Burton Albion lose, while Bolton Wanderers win, they will be relegated if Birmingham City win on Sunday.
If Fulham don't beat Brentford, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be promoted.

Macclesfield drew, but Tranmere won. Macclesfield's promotion will still be confirmed if Tranmere lose on Tuesday.
League Two
If Accrington Stanley (who are they? Exactly) beat Exeter City, Accrington Stanley will be promoted to League One.
Accrington and Exeter drew. Accrington will be promoted if Exeter don't win on Tuesday - and if Exeter lose, Luton will be promoted too.
League One
If Bury fail to win, they will be relegated to League Two.
Bury lose and are relegated. In fact, the other results today just about guarantee they will finish bottom of their league.
Championship
If Burton Albion lose, while Bolton Wanderers win, they will be relegated if Birmingham City win on Sunday.
Incredibly, Burton Albion won, beating Derby - pushing for playoffs - 3-1. Relegation averted for a week...

I'm busy on Tuesday evenings, so I didn't have time to post that if Accrington Stanley won, or bettered Exeter City's result, they would be promoted to League One for the first time in their history...

... but Accrington duly won and:
17th April - Accrington Stanley promoted (League Two to League One); P42, 87pt
Nothing else can happen until Saturday, I don't think.

Things that can happen today:

National League

If Tranmere Rovers lose, Macclesfield Town are promoted to League Two.
Even if Tranmere Rovers win, Macclesfield Town will be promoted to League Two if they also win.

League Two
If Luton Town win, or at least equal Exeter City's result, Luton Town will be promoted to League One.
If Barnet lose, they will be relegated to the National League if Grimsby Town win and Forest Green draw.
If Chesterfield lose to Forest Green, they will also be relegated if Grimsby Town win and Morecambe at least draw.

League One
Wigan Athletic will be promoted if they win and Shrewsbury Town do not.

Championship
If Sunderland lose to Burton Albion, Sunderland can be relegated with any two results from a Birmingham City draw, a Bolton Wanderers draw, and a Barnsley win.
If Burton Albion lose to Sunderland, Burton Albion can be relegated only if Birmingham and Bolton both win.
If Burton Albion and Sunderland draw, both teams will be relegated if Birmingham and Bolton both win.

Premier League
Nothing until Sunday...

National League
If Tranmere Rovers lose, Macclesfield Town are promoted to League Two.

Macclesfield Town win, everything else is academic. Welcome back to the league!

Luton could only draw... but so did Exeter. Luton join Accrington with promotion to League One!
Barnet win, and are safe for a week.
Chesterfield lose, heavily, and Grimsby Town do as well, but are safe for now as Morecambe lost. Still, they are now 9 points behind Morecambe with 9 points left to get, and are -19 goals worse off, so it's not looking great.

League One
Wigan Athletic will be promoted if they win and Shrewsbury Town do not.
Wigan win, Shrewsbury don't, Wigan are back in the Championship!
Championship
If Sunderland lose to Burton Albion, Sunderland can be relegated with any two results from a Birmingham City draw, a Bolton Wanderers draw, and a Barnsley win.

Sunderland lose to Burton Albion, after conceding two goals in the 88th and 93rd minutes. Birmingham won too. Bolton and Barnsley lost but I didn't notice that Bolton play Burton in the last couple of games. That means that either Bolton or Burton will secure 41 points, one point more than Sunderland can acquire, and Sunderland are down.

Swansea beating City away from home is highly unlikely!
It's marginally worse than that now - by shipping 5 goals, Swansea now have the 4th worst goal difference in the league. West Brom are only one goal worse off, so if they can score the three wins they need, they will overtake Swansea if Swansea don't do better than one draw in the last four.

Worse for Swansea is that their goal difference is four worse than Southampton's, the team one place and four points behind... and with a game against Swansea on the second-last day of the season.

The only saving grace there is that Southampton play Manchester City on the last day of the season, while Swansea play Stoke.

Swansea's last four games are home to Chelsea, away to Bournemouth, the back-to-back home games v Southampton and Stoke.

I don't want to sound cocky but I think we'll be OK...

Yeah, I'll quote this one in advance.

Newcastle is pretty much going to stay up but do we think the other two newbies will stay up also? Huddersfield haven't looked too good recently.

Both could easily go down, their remaining fixtures are against 4 of the top 8 sides, in Brighton's case they have Burnley, Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool and Huddersfield have Everton, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Realistically they only need one win though, even a couple of draws will likely do, maybe just one draw for Brighton and at the start of the season I'm sure both would have taken their current positions with their fate in their own hands.

But it all depends on whether Southampton can win games suddenly, if not then they're gone anyway, this weekend is a must win match for them, otherwise it's a massive ask to stay up. I just assume Stoke are likely down and West Brom definitely are, even if it's not official yet. Whilst it's also true that Swansea could go instead, I'd fancy them to not lose their home games against Southampton and Stoke and that alone may well be enough and it's not out of the question they pick up a point or even three before then.

In short it's likely the current bottom three are going down, but it's not totally unlikely that one somehow starts winning form nowhere and stops up and if that happens it could be at the expense of any one of the other sides (Brighton and anyone below them), if that side lose all of their remaining games.

Yeah. I'm really counting on Swansea having a disaster and getting points somewhere else. Maybe Bournemouth or Everton? I don't see Saints getting anything out of the final game vs Man City but stranger things have happened. There's hope if we play like we did against Chelsea either the first 70 of the league game or after we went 1-0 down in the cup game.

Amusingly, when Wednesday beat Leeds on March 17th, I said we were probably safe on just 41pt. When we beat Preston two weeks later after the break, I posted to say the same and that 44pt was us clear now.

Bottom of the Championship, with two games left looks like this:

19. Reading - P44, 43pt
20. Birmingham City - P44, 43pt
21. Bolton Wanderers - P44, 40pt
22. Barnsley - P43, 38pt
23. Burton Albion - P44, 38pt
24.
Sunderland - P44, 34pt

*smug-face engaged*

I reckon 41 may still be enough to stay up, on goal difference, but as Burton play Bolton, one of them can't possibly reach 44 (46, 41; 44, 42; or 43, 44. If they draw, Reading and Birmingham are safe. If Burton win, Reading are safe on goal difference [>+16 better than Bolton] and Birmingham are unlikely to be overtaken on goal difference either so long as they don't lose by much more than Bolton do) and the chances of Barnsley winning two from three when they have to play play-off chasing Brentford and Derby is... small.

Not a bad guess two months from the end of the season!

Newcastle is pretty much going to stay up but do we think the other two newbies will stay up also? Huddersfield haven't looked too good recently.
Huddersfield and - sadly - West Ham and Palace have points on the board. They have six more of them than Southampton. Southampton may have a game in hand on Palace, but games in hand aren't points unless you win them. Plus Palace have Stoke and West Brom in their last two games, both of which will be down by then.

As things stand, for Southampton to overtake Huddersfield/Palace/West Ham, they need to score six more points in four games (plus goals in the case of Palace). If the three stick to approximate form, they'll score roughly four points each, so Southampton need to score ten - that's three wins and a draw.

Huddersfield do have a bit of a mince run-in, but they play Everton (who are rubbish) and Chelsea and Arsenal who may well be on the beach by then with no way to catch up to the team above or be caught by the team below. Manchester City will hurt them, but they'll have already met their 100 goal target so Pep may experiment with some younger players to give the first team some additional summer rest before the World Cup. Or he may want to go for the 100pt target. Four points is not impossible there. Palace's run in is easy. West Ham also play Manchester City, but before Huddersfield do, and may face the full force still. And they have Manchester United, who need to win to keep Liverpool at bay.

That leaves Southampton. They also play Manchester City, and if they lose to them, they can't score the 10pt they likely need to pass the other teams - but it's their last game of the season and City might be on the beach as above...

However, they can still catch Swansea City, and Swansea play Southampton on the second-last day of the season. Between now and that fixture, Southampton play Bournemouth and Everton, while Swansea play Bournemouth and Chelsea. Chelsea will still be needing the points to secure fifth and won't have given up hope of catching Spurs in fourth yet - and as the FA Cup final is two weeks later, may not rest players.

That may put Swansea in deep, Solent bobbar, saved only by the fact Southampton couldn't score in a whorehouse and Swansea's own last game of the season is Stoke...

Southampton couldn't score in a whorehouse
This would be funny if it weren't painfully true.

That leaves Southampton. They also play Manchester City, and if they lose to them, they can't score the 10pt they likely need to pass the other teams - but it's their last game of the season and City might be on the beach as above...
Our only hope is that Hughes actually plays his best team and doesn't start Long who's scored 3 times in about 6 million years. (Or the EFL Cup Semi IIRC) Man City being on the beach would be great. Would rather they had a UCL final to look forward to and played very few of their normal first team but that's assuming we get decent points against Swansea, Everton and Bournemouth.

Things that can happen tonight

League Two
If Morecambe at least draw, Chesterfield will be relegated.

League One
Blackburn Rovers will be promoted if they match or better Shrewsbury Town's result.

They did (0-0) and Chesterfield are back in non-league footbal next year
League One
Blackburn Rovers will be promoted if they match or better Shrewsbury Town's result.
They did (both won) and are back in the Championship next year.
Accrington are Champions too if they avoid defeat.
They lost, so need to wait until the weekend where they will be champions with a point or if Luton don't win.

And Barnsley lost last night, so now 44pt is the safety cut-off, depending on goal difference.

I should have put money on this

Things that can happen today:

National League

Sutton United play Aldershot for the second berth in the Play-Off Semi-Finals. The loser goes through to the quarter-finals.
Six teams are fighting for the other three quarter-final spots:
- Ebbsfleet will qualify with at least a draw
- Fylde will likely qualify with a draw, due to a goal difference +6 better than any rival
- Boreham Wood will qualify if they equal or better the results of both Bromley and Dover
- Bromley will qualify if they win and any one of Boreham Wood, Dover or Wrexham do not, or if either Fylde or Ebbsfleet lose
- Dover will qualify if they win and with any two results from either Bromley or Boreham Wood drawing or worse and Fylde or Ebbsfleet losing
- Wrexham must beat Fylde to qualify and can then only do so with any two results from Boreham Wood losing and Bromley or Dover drawing or worse

League Two
If Wycombe Wanderers win and Exeter City do not, Wycombe will be promoted to League One.
If Barnet do not win, they will be relegated to the National League.

League One
If MK Dons do not win, they will be relegated to League Two.
If Northampton Town lose to Walsall, they will be relegated to League Two if either Rochdale or Oldham win too.
If Oldham Athletic lose, they will be relegated to League Two if Rochdale, Walsall and Wimbledon all win.

Championship
If Burton Albion lose to Bolton Wanderers, Burton will be relegated to League One.
If Barnsley lose, they will also be relegated to League One in the event of a Bolton victory.

Premier League
If West Brom do not win, they will be relegated to the Championship.
Stoke City can be relegated to the Championship if they lose to Liverpool, Swansea City win, and Huddersfield Town, West Ham United and Crystal Palace all draw or better.

Premier League
Stoke City can be relegated to the Championship if they lose to Liverpool, Swansea City win, and Huddersfield Town, West Ham United and Crystal Palace all draw or better.
Stoke drew, so that's off for a week.

- Wrexham must beat Fylde to qualify and can then only do so with any two results from Boreham Wood losing and Bromley or Dover drawing or worse
In reverse order:
Wrexham drew and don't qualify
Dover won, but neither Fylde nor Ebbsfleet lost, so they don't qualify.
Bromley lose, and don't qualify
Boreham Wood won, and qualify for the quarter-finals.
Fylde drew, and qualify for the quarter-finals.
Ebbsfleet drew, and qualify for the quarter-finals.

That only leaves Sutton vs. Aldershot... which Sutton won, putting them in the semi-finals and leaving Aldershot in the quarters.

National League play-offs this year are insane.

League Two
If Wycombe Wanderers win and Exeter City do not, Wycombe will be promoted to League One.
If Barnet do not win, they will be relegated to the National League.
Wycombe won, Exeter lost, Wycombe are promoted.
Barnet won and live another week - although Grimsby also won, so it's just Barnet and Morecambe left...

MK Dons lost, and down they go.
Northampton lost, but neither Rochdale nor Oldham won so they aren't down yet. That -17 worse goal difference is a bit of a pain though.
Oldham didn't lose, so are safe for now.

Championship
If Burton Albion lose to Bolton Wanderers, Burton will be relegated to League One.
If Barnsley lose, they will also be relegated to League One in the event of a Bolton victory.
Inexplicably, Burton won, to make it three wins in a row. Barnsley did too, so it's all going to be a bit odd next week.
Premier League
If West Brom do not win, they will be relegated to the Championship.
West Brom won. I know, right.

But if Swansea do not lose to Chelsea this evening, they're still down because Swansea (34pt) would still have to play Southampton (32pt), meaning either Swansea or Southampton would definitely hit 35pt - 1pt more than West Brom can achieve.
