Well it was some game for Erik Lamela in the NLD, he come on for Son after he picked up a hamstring injury, scored a Rabona....and then got himself sent off for an elbow! Odegaard got his first league goal for Arsenal and Lacazette scored a penalty after a fairly contentious decision, Arteta benched Aubemayang for apparently being late for a team meeting, slightly surprising result.

Leicester put five past SU in Heckingbottom's first game in charge, Iheanacho with a hat-trick, Perez and an Ampadu OG for the goals, massive win for Brighton in the relegation battle with Dunk and Trossard scoring and Adams with Southampton's equaliser.

Man Utd v West Ham to come.

Rui Patricio picked up a nasty head injury after an accidental collision with Conor Coady at the end of Wolves v Liverpool tonight, he was stretchered off and is was looking bad but Nuno said afterwards that he was okay and talking, Wolves have had Raul Jiminez out for a lengthy spell after having surgery on a fractured skull following a head collision earlier in the season, Jiminez was in at the ground watching the game.

Liverpool won the game 0-1 with Diogo Jota scoring right at the end of the first half, Liverpool up to sixth in the table five points off fourth.

Stupid "keep the flag down" offside rule. If he's offisde, he's offside. As soon as he touches the ball or interferes with play, get the flag up.

It happened in a Wrexham game earlier this season too. Opposition striker was through one-on-one but offisde. Flag stays down. He takes several touches as part of his dribble and clatters into our onrushing keeper, who is knocked unconscious. The game is stopped for over 25 minutes as an ambulance arrives on the pitch to take him away.

Why did the flag stay down? Needless.
 
Luke Shaw, John Stones and Jesse Lingard are back in the England squad plus Ollie Watkins and Sam Johnstone have been called up for the first time, Alexander-Arnold misses out as does Sancho Maddison Grealish and Barnes because of injury. Jude Bellingham has been picked but could be withdrawn because of Covid quarantine meaning he will have to isolate for 10 days once back in Germany.

Its the quarter finals of the FA Cup plus a few league games this weekend, international break starts next week.
 
For a nation with so many great right backs, why do the best two (TAA and Wan-Bissaka) keep being left out of the squad and Starting XI?

Last night's Europa League game between Rangers and Slavia Prague has made headlines for the wrong reasons, Rangers defender Glen Kamara was allegedly racial abused by Slavia's Ondrej Kudela, Kudela said something in Kamara's ear that almost sparked a mass brawl late in the game, there was an incident in the tunnel after the game as well, Kudela later admitted that he used offensive language but denied saying anything rascist, Rangers have backed Kamara fully and their response to this has been great to be fair. Kamara has tonight released a strongly worded statement in it he said what Kudela said to him, I'm not sure I cant repeat it here.

UEFA have launched on investigation, Slavia knocked Rangers out 1-2 on agg and Rangers had two players sent off in an ill-tempered game.

Leeds beat Fulham 1-2 in tonight's league game.

Southampton and Man City are through to the semi finals of the FA Cup after comfortable wins, Two goals by Redmond and Djenepo with the other goal for the saints and they had two goals ruled out by dodgy VAR offside calls so it could have been five, city left it late with Gundogan and De Bruyne scoring in the last 10 minutes, but their quadruple dream is still on.

In the only league game of the day Brighton battered Newcastle and Newcastle were shocking in such a big game at the bottom of the table, Trossard, Maupay and Welbeck with the goals, Newcastle must be thanking their lucky stars that Fulham lost last night.

Chelsea were pretty comfortable but Sheff Utd were a lot better than they were last time when they lost 5-0 to Leicester, much more organised and more confident, a Norwood OG and a late Ziyech strike saw Chelsea through to the semi finals. Man United were awful again and fully deserved to get knocked out we just weren't in the game at all and we didn't really look bothered, a mistake at the back led to Iheanacho giving Leicester the lead before Greenwood equalised to make it 1-1 at HT, in the second half Tielemans put Leicester back in front with a long range effort after some United players backed off and then Iheanacho got his second from a corner, fairplay to Leicester a they were by far the better team but united were shocking.

Great comeback from Arsenal after being 3-0 down, Arsenal were terrible for the first 30 mins or so with a great strike from Lingard plus goals from Bowen and Soucek putting West Ham ahead, then they scored two own goals! Soucek and Dawson both putting the ball in the back of their own net before Lacazette equalised in the 83rd minute, Spurs back to winning ways in the other league game, Caros Vinicius and a late Kane penalty for the goals.

International break starts now.
 
Might be a little late to the party as the programs were on last week but I have seen Football's Darkest Secret, my god it was tough watch.

I have got a lot of admiration for the former players who did come forward to speak about the abuse they suffered, hopefully this will never happen again.

Germany lost 1-2 to North Macedonia at home in a WC qualifier tonight, its only the second time they have lost a qualifier at home since 1985 with the first being the famous 1-5 loss to England in Munich in 2001, this loss is obviously a shock but North Macedonia are a decent side ranked 65th in the world and will be playing in the Euros this Summer.

As for England Harry Maguire spared Stones' blushes by scoring the winner 5 mins from time against Poland in a 2-1 win, Stones made a mistake whilst playing out from the back which lead to the Poles eqauliser, first goal was a Kane penalty.

Bet no-one expected that result earlier! Thiago Silva sent off after Pulisic put Chelsea in front and West Brom attacked! Made it 1-4 with a few goals in quick succession before Mount pulled one back and Callum Robinson sealed the win for WBA in the 95th minute, two goals from him and two from Pereira and Diagne got the other, big win for West Brom and a big wake up call for Chelsea.

Comfortable win for both Leeds and City, Harrison and an Jagielka OG for Leeds with a Osborn consolation. Mendy and Jesus with City's goals, Leicester didn't really do a lot, City now 17 points clear at the top.

Arsenal v Liverpool to come.

Very comfortable night for Liverpool, two goals from Jota and the other from Salah, TAA responded to his recent England omission with a superb performance and a fantastic cross for Jota for the first goal, Arsenal were poor and didn't really turn up.

The ref also watched a player sustain a head injury, ignore it and let Watford play the advantage, then eight seconds later blow for the head injury (which he'd clearly seen, because he made the head injury gesture, so should have blown immediately), and then yellow card our keeper as he ran over asking why the **** he hadn't blown for the head injury if he'd seen it.

It's amazing how many bad refereeing decisions we've had this season, in addition to a six-point (originally 12) deduction for the EFL deciding we'd broken FFP when we hadn't, but wanted to punish us for the stadium sale the EFL cleared us for. It's almost like they want us relegated for some reason - like they wanted Wigan relegated for some reason.

We've shot ourselves in the foot a lot this season, but if there's not some edict from on high to screw us over it's awfully coincidental...

The Saints rose from the dead on Easter Sunday after being 0-2 down to Burnley, Wood and Vydra put them ahead before Armstrong, Ings and Redmond gave Southampton the win and the deserved it. Godd point for Newcastle in the relegation battle but a bad day for Spurs, Joelinton put Newcastle in front before Kane scored twice in quick succession, on loan from Arsenal Joe Willock got a 85th minute equaliser for Newcastle. It was 0-0 at half time at Villa Park before Mitrovic pounced on a poor Mings back-pass to poke home and the two quick Trezeguet goals plus one from Watkins turned things around, Fulham would've been out of the relegation zone with a win.

Man United v Brighton to come tonight.
 
Man Utd should loan van de Beek to Dawson's Creek and bring back Lingard for next season.

Wolves 2-3 West Ham

Didn't see any of the first game, James Rodriguez put Everton in front before Batshuayi gave Palace a late 88th minute equaliser.

It was all about Jesse Lingard again for West Ham...or should I say Lingardinho! a fantastic solo goal and assist for Bowen for the third goal too, for the first he picked the ball inside his own half and just ran!, went past two Wolves players and slotted home, the assist was similar too but he laid it for for Bowen, Fornals got West Ham's second and they were 0-3 up, Dendoncker and Fabio Silva made it a more respectable score-line for Wolves, West Ham back up to fourth and they were 17th at the same stage last season!
 
Wrexham 2/3rd Season Analysis

First 13 games: Absolute muck, mid-table again
Middle 13 games: Pretty damn good, on the cusp of a top three placing
Everything since then: 5 injuries all happening at once, it's taken the legs from under us

At the start of the season, I'd have taken any kind of PO spot in the god-damned, two up/two down Conference. But after such a good run mid-season (as high as 4th just a few games ago) it seems cruel that 5 injuries all at once are going to cripple any sort of promotion push from what was previously a very promising position.

Whatever happens, with the Hollywood money I expect this summer to be "interesting" in terms of transfers but I really hope that we go for quality; don't pay over the odds just because we can, pay for players who are worth it.

Swansea were having a really good spell around the Christmas/New year period but now its going down the toilet, we had a nice unbeaten run going including beating run-away league leaders Norwich and we were in a automatic promotion place but in the last two months its crumbling, currently on a run of four defeats in a row without scoring and just playing terribly, only a few points safe in the play off places now with a game in hand but Cooper has come under fire now, team just looks out of ideas, we are running out of steam. :indiff:
