It's unfortunate that some of these guys are self centered like that. I don't mind them chasing the bag but once you get it continue to show why you deserved it in the first place.

TNF: GOTY Edition. What. A. Game. I'm glad I tuned in. My wife's good friend's birthday is today and she was in Seattle showing us selfies and videos of the join just going straight bonkers after the game  Good stuff.

If the Lions get bounced (and I think they will), I'm going all in on Seattle, and watching the Rams lose last night hit like crack since they should've lost against the Lions (not a TD, not a catch). Also, Puka Nacua is just the Mormon Antonio Brown with more antisemitism and less talent. It's weird how he went from being seen as the odd, shy guy to an absolute asshole in a matter of like 2 weeks. At least we know he won't get a concussion because clearly, concussions aren't real and are "only in your head."

I honestly can't be anything but happy for Darnold, and it's even funnier because the Vikings gave up on him for handoff specialist JJ the Jet Plane, which essentially ruined their team and made it so Jettas doesn't want to be there. At least we have one team in the NFC North that's hot garbage.

I also can't wait for the Super Bowl to be Seahawks v. Patriots, and for Seattle to actually run it on the 1-yard line this time.

TRUTH. I was thinking of the same SB matchup last night. They should sign Marshawn to a one day contract just so they can hand him the ball

Nacua is right though, concussions are only in your head. Not in your foot, not in your arm, in your head

Ooh, salty. Show me the list of receivers that have got over 160 yards in 3 consecutive games. I'll wait.

Honestly this year has made me eat my words about Darnold. Thought Seattle took a huge risk in giving him a big deal after only one good season. It just shows that some QBs just need time to properly develop (good coaching helps too). Its a bit rough only giving them a few years to show their worth.

And Danny Dimes too, in Indy.

QB is the only position where you can't always throw them straight in. Sometimes, they need to learn a bit or find a team that fits them.

When we got Goff, he had all the attributes of a great QB, but he was too easily confused by what the defense was showing him (Exhibit A - Super Bowl LIII). He was much better when we were in a hurry up offense and McVay could be talking to him all the time but you obviously can't do that all the time. But now he's more experienced and learned a lot and is vastly better for it.

Oh, and...

The NFL isn't even trying to hide game fixing anymore and while I notice it with Detroit, it's only because I watch every game. I'm sure other teams are getting boned week after week too.

If they are fixing it, who are they fixing it for?

The good coaching part is so true. The other thing is having an environment for the QB to develop you a decent line and weapons. Most bad teams rarely have good coaches and the environment for QBs to thrive. If look at historically bad franchises like my Jets they rarely have that. And those rare times they do the QBs do well. The examples being Ken O'Brien back in 86. He had Freeman McNeil, Wesley Walker, Al Toon, Mickey Schuler and good line. They made the playoffs. When they had Chad Pennington before he got injured. And finally when the 1st couple of years of Sanchez. When they traded away and released his best receivers he started to regress. Every QB they have since then has not had the infrastructure to succeed.

DraftKings, FanDuel, and other sportsbooks. If you don't think the NFL isn't completely controlled by sports gambling I'm not sure what to tell you. The NBA and MLB have already been caught in bed with organized crime fixing games. It'd be foolish to think the NFL was even remotely clean.

If bad calls happened occasionally then sure, I'd agree the officiating was just trash, but week after week and game after game the refs do more and more questionable stuff without a peep from the NFL. I'm slowly losing interest in football because of it. It's just the WWE now.

Just one time I'd love a non stressful Panthers game. Credit to the defence. Thought Baker and Mike Evans would fest on the soft coverage but they were kept quiet for all of the game.

NFC South is going to come down to the final week of the season.

Abdul Carter: I want LT's number!
Also Abdul Carter: Lines up offsides and negates a pick 6

I always thought that was ridiculous that he was ask for LT's number then he asked for Simms #. You can't come in as rookie and ask for the franchise's most famous player to let you use their number. It would be like a Bulls rookie asking for Jordan's #. At least show up on time and play like you were the #3 pick .

DOINK! Detroit.....GL!

So apparently you can punch a fan and continue to play? This league man, it's such a joke.

Lions season is over because their defense is an injury ward and the back ups are practice squad UFL players. They need a good off season or next year is really going to suck.

I have to wonder about Detroit's conditioning and training staff because that's 2 years in a row that they have lost a lot of defensive players. So maybe that needs to be looked into as well

It's crazy that Quinn Ewers's finesse passes look like rocket launches with more velocity than Tua's hardest-thrown balls. I'm glad he's starting the last few games. I still think the Fins need to bring in Kirk Cousins and trade Tua to Atlanta with some picks or a portion of his cap hit paid for. The only team more disappointing than Miami imo is Cinci. Burrow, Chase, and Higgins are totally unreal. It's astonishing that they're not going to be a playoff team.

Steelers may have the worst offence of any playoff team in recent memory.
Still could lose the last 2 games and blow it, and Chargers/Bills waiting to beat us in round 1 as usual.

As you can tell I'm still a bit pessimistic about our chances

After that showing against the Titans, Kansas City may as well just forfeit the rest of their season and give their guys a few weeks' extra recovery time. They have pretty much nothing left to work with.

Suspended for the final 2 games, not that it means much to the Lions now. Not sure there was a rule that could've been used to eject him during the game, for something on the sideline that was only picked up on camera & not by the refs.

It would be nice if we could have a no 1 receiver who's not a total moron. I know most do fit that profile but we seem to specialize in them.

The office in New York has the power to call in and eject a player. They did it with Brian Branch last year against the Packers when he did a late hit to the head and then flipped off the crowd at Lambeau. It'd be one thing if there wasn't a TV camera on it and it was just a bunch of mobile phone video, but the broadcast showed him hitting or, I guess, pushing the fan's face.

I hope the fan ends up suing for defamation too. Metcalf was claiming that the fan was yelling racist stuff and "thing you never call a black man," but the numerous videos show that all the fan did was call him "DeKaylin." There is absolutely no way a white dude in Detroit wouldn't get his ass beat for yelling the n-word. Not to mention, per the videos, there are numerous black people around him, along with a black security guard. If the dude were being a racist asshole, something would've happened to him. You can't be playing the race card when it wasn't a racial interaction; that kind of stuff ruins people's lives.

It's also pretty funny that DK's guaranteed money is now voided too. The Steelers aren't going to cut him over this, but if he gets injured or starts to suck next year, I think they'll feel pretty good about getting out of that terrible contract. If they end up missing the playoffs over this, I could see him getting a bunch of heat too.

I think my favourite hot take so far has been the fan was a plant by the Steelers to bait DK (or should I say DeKaylin) into raging so he would do something stupid and thus save the Steelers' money in the long run.

Is Dekaylin, his real/born name? I must be missing something here with that name, that apparently makes DK fly off the handle.

I’ve never understood American cities spending hundreds of millions of public money to build something for a private business owned by a billionaire. I must be too European and communist.

I'm sure you don't want the refs to hand out penalties for things they didn't see...

:p
