Falcons didn't wait until Black Monday to make a change.

Firing the GM is nasty work considering the star players they've drafted in his time there. Although I guess giving Kirk Cousins that contract, to basically be a backup. Does undo a lot of that.

Interesting to see who the Falcons next coach ends up being. There doesn't seem to be a real standout Ben Johnson or Kellen Moore type head coach candidate this year.

Downside to winning the division is getting the first-place schedule for next season. Facing both the Seattle and Broncos defense's is going to be brutal. 💀

Wait, how can you know that? What's the Giants schedule gonna be?

And the Giants, I don't know if it's great either. Seattle and LA away. That's tough. 😬

Please no more games like that. On to the playoffs!

10-7 for the 3rd straight year. Our recent playoff history has not been kind to put it mildly, so even at home we should be underdogs vs the Texans (though the forecast is looking nice and frosty for next Monday :D). At least we get our bonehead WR1 back. Hopefully we get week 17 Rodgers rather than week 16, and it would be nice for once if the defence kept playing in the fourth quarter and stopped playing the prevent defence which NEVER WORKS!!

The Seattle game would be tempting to attend, but like always, do I want to put up with traffic, parking, traveling 3 hours up there? Or just stay home where its comfy and watch on the big screen? I think I may go to the home opener in NY next season, especially if its against the Titans or Cardinals

Man the Steelers-Ravens game ending was something else. Both teams tried to choke in a winner-take-all game.

Harbaugh To NYG....Harbaugh To NYG. Also whats his nuts, uh, Stefanski would be good too.

kjb
He will have his choice of jobs
Adam Schefter is reporting that seven teams have already reached out to Harbaugh's agent. Which considering there are seven head coach vacancies, including Baltimore. That means there's one head coach* out there who's rather nervous right now.

*Todd Bowles (Probably).

I was close. Right state. Wrong team.

I figured they would rather get rid of him than eat the huge dead cap to get rid of Tua and fix one of the real problems the team has.

But hey, at least they have Raheem Morris, Terry Fontenot, Kevin Stefanski, Pete Carroll, Jonathan Gannnon and John Harbaugh to take the role of future bus axel grease now, unless whatever GM they install has a worse idea.

Gutting way to lose. But what a wild season. Would have been more than happy with the Panthers just winning more games than last year. Never would have imagined they'd win the division. And push the Rams to the limit in the playoffs. lol

Going to be interesting to see what they do in the off season. And how they handle next year, now there's expectations. One thing is for certain, with T-Mac and Coker. Bryce should be given free reign to sling the ball. Forget being run first. Feed those two young guns.

I am baffled at what play calling was used on that final drive. Only needed to get the ball to about the LA 35, with 3 timeouts and all 4 plays were throws. Even the kickoff return took too much time.

I'm more annoyed about the soft coverage the defense was playing on the final Rams drive. Its is what it is though, playing calling on both sides of the ball have been questionable all year.

What a great pair of games today. I was expecting the Rams game to be a snooze fest, but I couldn't turn away much at all. Your Panthers hung in there well @Spacegoat congrats on a solid season and I don't hear anyone talking about Young's height anymore  And rightfully so.

And the Bears just find a way to win. I went out for dinner and the score was 21-3, then I finish dinner (and drinks AND desert) and suddenly its 27-24. So the boss and I watch the final 3 min and dang, that was tooth and nail, GG.

Every year a buddy of mine (lowly Cowboys fan) we've been predicting playoff weekend winners for the past 10 years or so, so here's my predictions for this weekend albeit late:
Rams
Bears
Bills
49ers
Patriots
Steelers

We'll see how the rest of the weekend goes!

Great games. Not sure if that was an awesome comeback by the Bears or a massive choke by the Packers. Caleb is so much fun to watch, Bryce as well. Athletic quarterbacks, can my Steelers get one of those?

That was closer than it should have been. We always seem to let teams back in. Although the Panthers main issue was giving Stafford plenty time to steal their souls, or snatch their hearts as he said this time. Stafford needs his back against the wall to play his best stuff. He starts fine but then he loses his way a bit. We need to tell him he's 30 points down at the start of every game!

Yeah, pretty much 4 downs of the same play when they didn't need to get it all in one go.

From my point, I thought the ball was thrown into some very tight windows. Not so much the TD to parkinson as he was the only one coming down with that, but the TD throw to Kyren very much threaded a needle.

Both games were and I believe in minority of those who thought the Panthers could win and it looked like I was wrong early on. IMO the game shifted when the Rams recovered the muffed punt and went for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG and got stopped. Then Bryce Young scored a TD to make the game 17-14 instead of it being 20-6 I thought they had a chance. I think McVay got greedy I understand analytics says go for it but think you take the points and take the crowd out of the game. But that's just me. I'm glad the Panthers kept it close and those last TDs by both QBs were just beautiful throws. I thought GB was going to win and stopped watching and wake up to find they lost crazy

I hated the fact the Panthers lost. that was an insane game though. Great throw by Stafford and great catch by Higbee.

Matthew Stafford is one of the best quarterbacks of this generation. Guy just does not know how to quit.

On to todays games - GO BIRDS !!

I thought the Bears were toast, but they did it again. They were assisted by Green Bay missing three kicks.

Chicago's ability to commit garbage time shenanigans kicked in at the same time that Green Bay forgot how to football, and here we are. Even without those missed kicks, Jayden Reed developed a terminal case of stone hands at the worst time and Caleb Williams decided it was time to earn his paycheck.

I think its cool the Bills won, but without Gave Davis I think they may be kinda screwed for the playoffs 🤷‍♂️ It was a fun, close game to watch, I enjoyed it.

Oh, people still are. For whatever reason (even some Panthers fans) are rooting for the guy to fail. Noodle arm. Can't see over the middle. They'll never be satisfied it seems, despite how well he's been playing.

Definitely there were so tight throws. The main problem for the Panthers all year (well, aside from the non existent pass rush) has been the middle of the field. Their linebackers are terrible in coverage. Which why it was so annoying how much room the secondary gave the Rams receivers on that final drive.

If the Bears can actually stop with the non-existing offenses until the 4th quarter, I like their chances in the NFC honestly.

Win or lose from here on out, this season was a resounding success for the Bears. Beating the Packers in the wild card is helping with that feeling a lot.

I was thinking about this last night - how wild would it be to have a Bears / Patriots Super Bowl ?
In, since my top preferred match of Jags/Bears went out the door.

Realistically want something kinda silly like Texans/Seahawks, expecting something middle-road like Pats or Broncos/Rams

Bryce seems to have a referendum every bad game apparently he is a terrible QB and they need to get rid of him. As a Jets fan I find it funny that he gets so much hate. Enjoy having a good to decent QB. Anyway if the Panthers want the defense to improve they need to replace Nick Scott and get a coverage LB like Sonny Styles in the draft. This was interesting weekend Curios to see how things play out. I would love to see the Steelers win but I don't like them against the Pats.
