As a Jets fan I find it funny that he gets so much hate.
I find it funny too. Especially after seeing Mayfield and Darnold succeed elsewhere. You think people would have learnt to be patient by now.

Anyway if the Panthers want the defense to improve they need to replace Nick Scott and get a coverage LB like Sonny Styles in the draft.
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they do in free agency and draft. Sad thing was that prior to the wildcard game. Nick Scott had almost won me over this season. He'd been playing fine for the most part. Unfortunately with Ikem Ekwonu's injury. Tackle suddenly now becomes a big need. By the sounds of it, a ruptured patella is one of the worst injuries someone can get. No gaurantee that'll he be able to play to the same level once he's healthy. Still want to see them go with an LB in rd1 though.

Jesus H Christ.... The Texans gave a beating to the Steelers. I did not see that coming.

Aaron Rodgers is done and I have a feeling so is Mike Tomlin.

Texans at Patriots next week.

Again we get destroyed in a playoff game. Sack Tomlin!

Last 5 playoff games: lost by 11, lost by 21, lost by 14, lost by 14, lost by 24.

Haven’t won a game in a decade. Haven’t made the Superbowl in 15.

Time to clear house and rebuild.

Normal timeline's prediction: Denver and Chicago finally get punished for their 4th quarter fraudulence, New England and Seattle shove aside everyone else, Pats/Seahawks Super Bowl.

This timeline's prediction: ...hell Dutch, I dunno. At the rate this season's been going, I'm really not ruling out anything. You could tell me that the AFC somehow manages to double-eliminate itself and we're going to have Bears/49ers as the Super Bowl, and I'd consider it possible.

If Harbaugh deserved to be fired, I'd be very surprised if Tomlin isn't.

-Steelers management, probably, from the infinite chasm known as their rectal cavity
“Let’s reward the awesome job Mike does by locking him down for even longer” - Art Rooney in March when they pick up Tomlin’s 2027 option.

IGNORE ALL THAT - he’s gone. Jumped before he could be pushed.

I honestly didn't see that coming. Maybe The Standard isn't so eternal after all.

So the question now is where is Tomlin going to end up next, because there's certainly more than a few teams who would gladly saw their own right arm off for a steady string of first round playoff appearances.

TV might sound good to him. Still get paid, stay around the game and protect that precious non-losing streak.

19 seasons as a coach is still a run. Only the third coach the Steelers has had since 1969. On one hand, this was expected after the mediocrity of the last few seasons. On the other hand, it is still a shock to see the change actually happen.

He would probably win a playoff game with a good quarterback

So I'm hearing that since Tomlin stepped down and wasn't fired, the Steelers retain his rights. Meaning if anyone wants to talk to him about hiring, they have to go through the Steelers and probably hand over some trade picks to strike a deal.

Yep just like Denver had to do when they got Sean Payton

That's a relief. With the Falcons needing a head coach. I don't want Tomlin anywhere near the NFC South. Now just as long as the Bucs don't fire Bowles anytime soon.

Broncos win the game and lose Bo Nix to a broken ankle.

I wonder how patient the Bills are going to be now that they got bounced. I can't imagine much happiness now that they got eliminated in a playoff run without Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Joe Burrow to worry about.

Yeah, that press conference with Josh Allen in tears was brutal, poor guy. Is he the new Dan Marino? The best QB to never win it all?

I'm glad John Harbaugh actually signed his contract today too.

Damn, this Seattle / San Francisco game is getting U - G - L - Y...
I can't even say it was the injuries that did the 49'ers in, they just plain forgot how to football.

And seeing the sacrifice that the football gods have exacted from the Broncos, Patriots/Seahawks Super Bowl is definitely looking like what to expect this year unless the Bears can pull off some outrageous shenanigans.

I feel like the Broncos should concede their playoff position to the Bills as 'The Right Thing To Do'. Because they are going to get slaughtered by either the Texans or Pats. That'll never happen, so I think it will a SEA/NE SB this year too.
