Kevin Stefanski is now the head coach of the Falcons.
Good hire for the Falcons. QB is a big question mark for them with Penix's injury history but if they get it sorted out. Wouldn't be too surprised if they win the South next year.

Bears were the last team left in the playoffs that I actually like.
Now I only have Green Day and Bad Bunny to look forward to.

Still waiting on the Steelers to pick a coach. Shula from the Rams looks a good bet. I hope we don't choose Brian Flores.

Still hanging in there. Didn't like the game much last night, Stafford very much had an off night, but we managed to get the win and that's all that matters at this stage.

Bring on the Seahawks. We know we can beat them, although it's always close.

Remember that Shula only got that job because he's friends with coach McVay.

This weekend of games was pinnacle, so much fun. Especially that throw Williams did to force OT. Next weekend should be good, but with Nix out, it'll be Pats X SEA/LAR. I have a hard time picking a winner of that game. These divisional matchups are always tough, I don't mind either team going to the SB. I just don't want 'Mr. Massage Parlor' to win another SB, you know?

Throw Sean McDermott onto the pile of fired coaches, Buffalo just sent him packing.

Is no one safe? Wow, this has to be the biggest coaching carousel ever, right?

I guess we know why the Steelers are biding their time as far as picking a new coach, I'm betting there's going to be at least one more sacking before the Super Bowl comes around.

And yet, the Colts announced they weren't going to fire anyone for the tremendous collapse that cost them a playoff berth, traded two years' worth of first round picks for a player that turned out to be a total bust and left their planned starting QB with the one injury that makes him completely unreliable as a starter.

CJ Stroud is probably the most hated man in Houston right about now. What an absolute mess that was.

I expect their offensive coordinator is probably clearing out his desk ahead of time too, because someone's definitely getting fired over that.

read that earlier this morning.. im disappointed but not surprised. If I were the Raiders I would have him on speed dial
Giants have got to be happy that they already locked Harbaugh down. That Bills job is certainly an enticing one, even if the roster does have a bunch of holes.

I've said this for years and no one seems to listen, but first year QBs have a distinct advantage in that DC's/Defenses don't know what to expect. Give them enough footage and if that QB rests on their laurels thinking 'they're good' and don't study up on expanding their knowledge, they dip. A la Deshawn Watson, RG3, Carson Wentz, Mac Jones, even Baker had a slump, but he was in Cleveland so I give him a pass there  Dart is peak for this too and is why I don't really say anything about him. That slump could be coming HARD for him  Anyway, CJ is hella talented, but can he learn that champions are made in the offseason? 🤷‍♂️

I can't say that Stroud is 100% to blame, the Texans' entire o-line was a complete mess this year. It stands out even more though because Houston had one of the best defensive units in the league this year hands down, and it's been pretty much squandered because they were being expected to prop up an offense that couldn't even get out of its own way when it mattered most. Stroud crashing out now when it mattered most is just the end result of that, but likely he's going to be the one getting all the heat for it anyway.

I think Sean McDermott got the shaft. He didn't draft poorly or make bad free agent signings but he got the blame. If you ask me they should have fired the GM as well. But McDermott get them coached up properly. Think about this they made the playoffs 8 out of 9 seasons and get they didn't make the playoffs but who are they going to get to replace him? I hear Brian Daboll but that's crazy to me. So anybody they bring in who doesn't make at least the conference finals is a failure. Now if they go out and get a WR and make some other improvements that may happen but it won't be because McDermott is gone. The NFL has truly become the Not For Long league

Looks like the Dolphins stole away Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to be their new head coach. On a five year deal no less, so clearly they have some confidence that he'll manage to fix things over there.

And the Titans are expected to sign the 49'ers DC Robert Saleh as their new head coach, so I guess we're not just shuffling deck chairs around when it comes to coaching hires.

Oh boy. The NFC South is going to be extra spicy next season.

Edit: Also. Mike McDaniel announced as the Chargers new OC. Good move for them. Do wonder what the Raiders and Cardinals are going to do now. Thought he might have been the good option for either of those jobs.

I had no idea he was such a hot property...

The Atlanta Falcons, Ravens, Browns, Raiders and Tennessee Titans interviewed him for their HC vacancies, while the Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chargers interviewed him as an OC possibility. McDaniel was interviewing with the Chargers again on Tuesday and had a follow-up interview with the Browns scheduled for Wednesday before withdrawing from consideration.

But then again with the right squad he can do pretty good things on offense, and he does know that to win games you have to win the game, not lose the game, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Well the Buffalo Bills are topping the hot mess charts right now. The owner Terry Pegula went out of his way to throw Sean McDermott under the bus. Said they fired because of the Denver game. Also said that when it came to choosing WR Leon Coleman it was the coaching staff and not GM Brandon Beane who wanted to be a good teammate and chose him. Mind you there was video of Beane talking about how excited he was that Coleman ran a 4.56 and him saying we got to get him. There was a report that McDermott had a meeting with the owner and GM where he told them point blank this was not a SB contending roster. He was done after that. The GM who he helped get hired told the owner it wasn't the roster but the coach. Granted McDermott made some mistakes but he didn't put the roster together. Also he didn't throw 3 Ints against Denver. What I don't understand is how you put together such a poor roster and fail up? And who is going to come in and get them over the hump? What happens when the don't win the SB next year? Does the coach get fired again because he can't coach Beane's roster? I feel like Beane should be gone too. IMO anyway

I felt the same after Daboll got canned. I was like, "And....AND!?!?!" Joe Schoen still has a job, somehow after letting Saquon walk. But if we win, we win. If we don't, I fully expect him to be gone before the season is over next year. I'd be fine letting Harbaugh, 'buy the groceries' as it were. (Parcells quote from his Giants days).

Joe Shoen should have been canned the Monday after Saquon ran all over the Giants. The only thing that saved it and the AJ Brown trade from possibly being the worst trade of the 2020s was the Deshaun Watson trade.

Truth brother.

So not only is Joe Flacco saying he wants to play next season, there's rumors he might try to go to the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers decides to pack it up. I kinda hope we get a timeline where he plays at least one game for every team in the NFL now.

Oh boy. Thought honestly that the Steelers might go for a younger guy just to keep that streak of long term head coaches alive. Cool story though for McCarthy, I guess.

Well done to the Steelers ownership. They made a move that is pretty much universally hated by the fanbase.

Delusional thinking, a continuity coach to keep the streak of mediocrity alive. Living in the past. Too cheap to spend on a full staff or modern facilities. There’s no way we even come near a Super Bowl anytime soon.

At least one blessing is there’s no way he lasts as long as the previous 3 coaches.

Probably need an NFC team to follow now as well, for a break from the Pitt of Despair.

The Steelers don't fire coaches, remember? You're stuck with him until he dies or the sun explodes, I'm afraid.

This seems to sum it up pretty well:

My favorite part about the rant in the spoiler video is that it's actually not even a ragebait video. He's been clear from the beginning that McCarthy was going to be a bad hire and he would lose his mind if he became the head coach. In fact, Tree always thought that McCarthy's success in GB was due to Aaron Rodgers, not Mike's ability to coach.

Bonkers. Ludacris. Is it because he didn't treat the media well enough and they are all butthurt? 🤷‍♂️

Rodney Dangerfield comes to mind. "I get no respect."

I've gone through the stages and am now almost in the acceptance phase for Mike. He does seem genuinely passionate about the job. At least we finally got an offensive-minded HC, even if his system may be a bit old and not entirely suited to our personnel (he almost always runs 3 WRs but we only have one good wideout on the entire roster). No way to get even a half-decent QB this year though so old Aaron will likely be back. At least the 2027 draft class should be much better.
