2025 NFL Season

Everyone is saying the Giants D-Front is the best in the NFL. I have to agree, on paper anyway. But Outside of Nabers, everything else on our team seems to be fat old question mark  I don't know how many days it is until kickoff, but its too many.
If we're talking on paper I think my Steelers would have to be in the conversation. Heyward and Watt are ranked top 3 at their positions, Highsmith would be a no 1 rusher on many teams and our #1 DT pick Harmon has looked really good in camp. Ths issue for us is health, they're all injury prone.

Some positives early on in training. The new RB seems the real deal, could be a big upgrade for us and fits the system better than Najee Harris. Secondary looks improved as well with Jalen at nickel.

Rodgers doesn't look completely toast yet, but he'll get there this year with our OL so another mediocre season likely awaits - but not bad enough to get a top QB prospect in next year's draft.

TJ Watt is the best EDGE guy there is, imo. If Rogers goes back to his GB standards of play, watch out. Personally, I think he just doesn't have the drive to do that anymore, at least thats the feeling I get A) after watching The Enigma show B) his stats (albeit w/Jets but that Jets D was LEGIT).

TBH I think the Giants are going to have a very good defense. Not sure about the secondary but the front 7 should be good. If they can run the ball with Skattebo & Tracy and Wilson can hit a few moon shots a game they will be much better than what the so called "experts" are predicting.

Anyone potentially interested in a Fantasy Football league this year? I've not played at all since @FoolKiller used to run it back in the day. But for whatever reason recently, I've had an itch to get back into it (Which probably will be disastrous given I don't really follow what's happening outside of what the Panthers are doing lol). Thought it might be fun to do a GTP league again if there's enough interest out there.

Sure I'm game, I typically end up helping my wife with her family league but I haven't had a team of my own in years since the guys I used to play with at work all got different jobs.

Cool. I've just set up a 10 team head to head league for now. If we get more I'll expand it or if there isn't enough, might just open it up to the public. Not set a draft date yet but it'll be towards the end of the month. Like the 28th/29th or something.

Figured the link might be an easier way than the email invites. Maybe.

Totally unbelievable and completely awesome. I miss SC so much.

He did a really good tribute to Stuart Scott too:

So is he back hosting full time? I know ESPN acquired NFL Network so does that mean their pre game show will disappear?
No, it was a way to tie in that Rich Eisen's show was acquired by ESPN/Disney+. They welcomed him back by allowing him to host SC again. As far as I'm aware, SC will still be regularly hosted by SVP. I don't doubt that ESPN will have appearances by other talent, however.

I didn't know which time slot that was. I knew SVP was on summer break but he's still doing SVPod here and there until football regular season starts

Ugh. Will be sad if this goes down, because while it'll make trimming the roster a bit easier given how crowded the Panthers receiver room is currently. Adam Thielen is Bryce Young's security blanket and a good veteran presence to have. The Vikings have given me no real reason to dislike them until now.

Oh well. Getting a 4th rounder for Thielen is a pretty good return in the end, considering this more than likely his last year in the league. And I guess it gives the younger guys a chance to show what they have now. Surprising the Panthers didn't bring back Renfrow though.

Micah Parsons has been traded from Dallas to Green Bay, with a big extension, for Kenny Clark and 2 first round picks.

 Time to console/mock Cowboys fans again, depending on your outlook.
Mock, always mock. Why? Because every year as the season begins, all everyone talks about are them. Womp womp.

I told my cousin who is a Cowboys fan that they are making the Jets look like a model organization. The sad thing about this is they could signed Parsons last year but Jerruh didn't want to do a deal. I'm not cool with the fact he tried to do a deal with Parson's agent. He said he was going to make him the highest paid non QB but I'm pretty sure the deal was slanted towards the Cowboys. I did think that they were going to sign him but Jerruh decided he would rather trade him. The deal favors the Packers in they only gave up 2 1st that will be in the late 20s and Kenny Clark. Anyway no sweat off my back but it is fun to see all of the distraught Cowboy fans 🤣🤣🤣

Hey you won't hear me complain about the NFC East opponents getting weaker. Long ways to go before they are all at our level

Big extension indeed. He's obviously deserving of it but that is a massive amount to be paying. Not sure what GB's cap space is like. Could be an issue down the road. Altho, if they manage a Superbowl within that time it'd be worth it.

Absolutely laughing at Jerry Jones. What a douche.

God I love when the Cowboys do dumb stuff. Watching all the fans crash out is the best thing ever.

Surprising the Panthers didn't bring back Renfrow though.
Cool. Hunter Renfrow is on the active roster now. But it's at the expense of Jalen Coker, who's gong to miss at least four weeks with a quad injury.

Suddenly the Thielen trade doesn't seem great...

This Is Fine GIF

Probably.

How did you guys already have a draft? Oh well.

There wasn't much response sadly. (I probably should have tagged people). Its me, Joey, some other GTP user and four randoms. You can still play though, if you want. There's autodrafted team that needs a manager. Its a good squad too.

I don't think trading Thielen was a bad idea. They wouldn't traded him if the young guys weren't ready to take over. Jalen Coker was set to be the slot guy and T-Mac as security blanket guy. The fact that they were to Re grow after Coker's injury helped. The receiving corp will be okay. Middle LB and d lines are bigger concerns IMO

I mean, can both teams lose?

**I just noticed whoever made said meme and posted it on Reddit spelled Cowboys wrong

Only a little apprehensive about because of the inexperience of TMac, XL and Coker. And there's suddenly a lot more pressure on the first two to perform as the top guys now with Thielen gone and Coker out for the foreseeable. Hopefully Renfrow can show some glimpses of his former self. Its incredibly lucky that he didn't want to play anywhere else. Excited to see what JT Sanders does. He was starting to look really promosing last year before his injury and he might actually end up be the biggest beneficiary of all this. Could see Young leaning on him at lot.

Not so concerned with the D line. But the middle LB's outside of Wallace is absolutely grim, tbh. 💀

Safe to say that the Cowboys/Eagles rivalry has already started off this season with tempers flaring. I shouldn't have expected anything less from 2 teams that absolutely hate each other.
