Wow. Egypt just had perhaps the greatest goal ever rightfully deleted by VAR. The run up the side of the pitch and passes were sublime and it's truly a shame it has been chalked off, but a foul was commited so fair.
Yeh, easily the goal of the tournament, but rightly disallowed - but perhaps justice has now been done... Argentina defending has just collapsed.

Game on... fabulous cross from Messi and Argentina are back in it.

.... and that's the difference with Messi on your side... what a legend!!

Greatest ever? Ever or just in the world cup? What about the greatest goal ever wrongfully disallowed? Roberto De Zerbi had a great volley wrongfully disallowed for offside. This is going to keep me up.

3-2 Argentina. I find myself in a conundrum, I want every team to lose.

Great comeback, Egypt did just stop playing in the last 15 minutes or so though, and they had a meltdown towards the end.

They apparently were giving yellow cards out as candy. Was that a trainer who got the red?

A shame for Egypt, but they forgot how to defend, any semblance of tactical nous, and lost their heads late on. Although you can question some of the officiating, they can only blame themselves for those things.

Corruption strikes again. Congratulations FIFA, your boys are through again. Egypt should have three goals.
Egypt played very well and deserved a better outcome perhaps, but their disallowed goal was rightly chalked off - but it was a great shame, because it was a remarkable goal indeed.

Argentina also played amazingly well when they went 2-0 down, in large part down to the genius that is Lionel Messi - one can't begrudge them the win, even though they rode their luck a bit and are absolutely woeful in defence - but, with LM on their team, a two-goal deficit is clearly not the end of the world.

Apparently it's the first time in World Cup history that Argentina has come from two goals behind to win... and the 14th time they've been two down.

FIFA are never beating the accusations.

So that'll be Morocco trough if they have their way...

I understand Egypt is furious, but the goal was rightfully cancelled.
Then again, Argentina also did make some fouls leading up to their goals...

Like the free kick team USA got against Belgium (leading to the own-goal of Vanaken) that wasn't actually a foul.

Our head coach Zlatko Dalić just resigned from Croatian bench after 9 super successful years.

World Cup silver and bronze and League of Nations silver.

And who knows what would be at this tournament if we weren't robbed vs Portugal...

Being English, I am glad to see the back of him

More seriously, he has been a great coach for Croatia and has certainly got the best out of the team. His successor will find it difficult as some of the key players are unlikely to be around at the next tournament.

Depressingly routine, even if there was a strange penalty miss.

In other news, I know I'm not too familiar with people in Moneyball and thus people like England internationals, but since when the **** did we have Megamind in the squad?
