Starting off with WAU being renamed to Walkinshaw TWG Racing (which isn't a mouth full. Probably.)

Guessing Zak Brown decided to get out of Supercars, after realizing he isn't exactly Mr Popular down here currently. :sly:

This isn’t going to be controversial at all - Nick Worth of Worth Research, responsible for the ZB Commodore’s aero package, claims to have used some design trickery to exploit Supercar’s VCAT test and significantly increased the car’s downforce as a result.

https://speedcafe.com/supercars-new...k-zb-holden-commodore-brake-ducts-nick-wirth/

“[Supercars] made one mistake, and the mistake was that they used their own brake ducts [for VCAT]. They were different to the brake ducts that we used on the real race bodywork.

“I said, ‘that’s an opportunity’.

“What we did was we did a CFD program where every single thing we did, we built models of the brake ducts and load cells that they used to measure the car [during VCAT], so we had a CFD model of that, and we had CFD models of the real bodywork with the real brake cooling system on.

“Basically we got the technology to look for anything that made a bigger difference between when you ran the standard load measuring brake ducts and the race system.

“We iterated towards a technology that when you put the load cells on, it swicthed our aerodynamics off. We essentially gave them a car that as soon as they put their load measuring equipment on, it stalled all of the downforce developing devices on the car.

“As soon as they took that stuff off, and we put our real stuff on, literally downforce was like two and a half times what had been measured.”

Crazy that Heimgartner has basically driven everything aside from the Volvo and Merc.

Livery reveal season is almost upon us.

DJR: Feb 1st.
Grove: Feb 7th.
Walkinshaw TWG: Feb 8th.
Team 18: Feb 10th.

Full list of reveal dates (well, mostly) from the Supercars socials.

Still think Team 18 are missing a trick by not having theirs on the 18th but what do I know.

Surely this is the year DJR present something new and exciting, right?

While it is probably overdue for a fresh change in the commentary booth. And assuming Tander is going to be one of them, he'd be an upgrade over Skaife but no Crompo? Sure he tends to miss things during the races but his knowledge and love of the sport is basically next to none. And I was looking forward to this year, seeing as he was a large part of getting Toyota onto the grid

Feels similar to when they tried to punt Larko a few years back. (Was James Warburton behind that move too? I probably shouldn't be surprised if he was)

Yes, it was Warburton.

I feel pretty much the same. The same guy that did the petition for Larko is doing one for Crompo.

Volvo was the main reason I got into Supercars. Crompton was the main reason I stayed. Lose Skaife by all means (but of course that's not going to happen ) and have Neil and Garth please.

At least if were Aaron Noonan and Garth Tander, it'd be informative and good called broadcast by a knowledgeable unbiased duo.

Am I crazy or is the number on the windscreen larger? With how large it is compared to Kostecki's name. I hate it.
Double post, but this explains it.

From Round 1 in Sydney, the size of the driver competition number on the windscreen of all Supercars has been increased, and moved.
The vinyl competition number will be increased in size for better visibility to fans and officials, and will be moved next to the LED display.
The number has been increased by 65mm in height, from 80mm in 2025 to 145mm in 2026.
The driver surname, meanwhile, will move next to the competition number and across the rear vision mirror section of the windscreen, to ensure driver visibility is not compromised.

Dodged a bullet here. As an Rugby League fan, I can safely tell you that all the major commentators from Foxtel and Channel 9 are terrible. I'd much rather have someone who actually follows the sport call it, rather than someone from outside of it.

While Supercars did chase NRL commentary talent as part of its refresh, it’s now clear the category will promote from its support ranks – and not have a single ‘voice of the sport’.

Chad Neylon, Matt Naulty and Richard Craill are all in line to share the mic across the 14-event season as part of a strategy to break the long-running formula.

Neylon, Naulty and Craill are all decent enough but not a patch on Crompo.
Double post, but this explains it.
The last sentence makes me feel a little more at ease. Because I feared that might be going down the DTM route of having gigantic numbers on the side of the windscreens.

Still think it looks terrible but it could be a lot worse.

Yeah, I have to agree. I really liked the Objective 650S GT3 a few years back and even last year’s Super2 car didn’t look too bad. This just doesn’t do it for me.

Honestly, a huge step down from the SCT liveries and even the Objective liveries we've seen in GT3 in the past. Very underwhelming, imo.

I don't think it's a step down at all.

Grove livery. Its going to be hard to beat this one. Had stopped being overly excited by Penrite liveries but black and gold though...

And Triple 8. Make it glossy, like the RB F1 car and you might have something.

Grove’s looks really nice. The subtle ‘100’ pattern is a nice touch.

I’m not so much a fan of the Triple 8 livery, the matte look just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Maybe a bit of a long shot, but I was hoping the Red Bull/Ford connection would bring us some shared branding with the RBR F1 team.

Looks like T8 have picked up Adidas as a new sponsor too.
