It’s absolutely wild out there and almost impossible to keep track of where each individual driver is at.


I actually had a quick run on the West Circuit with a EuroNASCAR in iRacing last night. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, it flows like a scaled up Winton.

Time Certainty could make the drive times for the regulars not in the car currently a bit interesting..

Toyota 1-2 all of a sudden. GM and Ford were so focused on the P word, they forgot about the other guys. :sly:

Yeah, okay. I'm sold on this layout. Especially with some water mixed in.

And a Toyota 1-3. Didn't see that coming at all. Guess the B-Spec engine has pasted the test. Good result for BJR as well with the #8 in the ten.
 
Rain is a great equalizer. Good mix of the brands throughout the field.

I can’t remember the last time we had such an unpredictable race. It wasn’t until very late in the race until we knew the true pecking order. That was a really good watch.
 
Wasn’t quite the 30 second gap he wanted, but good stuff.

The way cars kept firing off late the race so often, felt like how I remember the mid 2000s racing.

Felt like any time I looked up a new car was off the track.

No SC for the huge chunk of bodywork off Macauley's car was a little questionable imo, while we didn't see anymore, the way cars had been running off line there all weekend, it wouldn't have been unluckily to see someone completely wipe it out. Would've been damaging if someone did.
 
Kind of BS that the BRT cars were disqualified for short driver stint times when the only reason they didn't meet the requirement was due to the race being shortened. At a time when they're talking about getting rid of time certainty...

Exactly. I thought that was out until I think I heard Larko mention it.
 
You'd think in that kind of situation, they'd rejig the amount of laps drivers need to do to match the reduced race length by apparently not.

Apparently they do, but only if the race is shortened by something like 25% or more.
 
To be fair, time certain is written in the regulations. At that point in the race, it was already clear the race would go time certain, despite that, BRT kept their co-drivers out.

I hate time certain as much as anyone, but in this case, BRT tried to gain an advantage knowing full well the race would not be able to go full distance.
 
HAHA why even call it the Airtouch 500 if the race isn't even 500KM

That would explain as to why they didn't protest the decision then.

It at least makes the competition for the last spot in the finals series, really interesting. Heimgartner, Randle and Ojeda are suddenly all in play now.
 
Can't fault their reasoning. Obviously every dollar matters and door numbers do take up a lot of valuable space. But where's the fun in that? Door numbers just look cooler. 😅

I remember in like 2016 or so they started having personalised window numbers, weird that they never continued down that line, felt like a decent enough middle ground. I know a couple of them weren't super legible on TV, but a bit of design testing could've had that figured out fairly quickly.

Sort of on the topic of window numbers, does anyone actually take notice of the digital position numbers on the windscreen? the only time I ever do is when I noticed how much space it takes up lol

Nah, I don’t really pay attention to it unless I’m there in person. But even then, it’s not exactly easy to read the display. They could place them on the side, but that’s prime realestate evidently.
