$20M Cars – How?

How are you supposed to earn cars that sell for 2m 000,000 credits?

So far, from what I understand, the highest paying even takes about 4 minutes and earns you roughly 100,000cr. By the time the game loads the event, we'll call it 5 minutes.

Therefore:

1 hour = 1,200,000 credits

With this formula, it would take about 20 hours to buy JUST the Ferrari 330P4 (20,000,000 credits).

How does this make any sense?

If I were to save up that many credits, how would I be able to knowingly spend it all on one car? And it's not just one car that is this expensive...many cars are 10,000,000+

There are so many cars I want to own, but it sounds like I'd need to play 24 hours/day for 6 months to be able to own half of them.

Yea, they clearly don't understand the meaning of Final.
 
It gives the player a good impression of what these old cars are worth, try buying it in reality.

You should put in a lot of work before you get these nice goodies, save up.

20m is still excessive. I could deal with 10m MAX but 20m is just too much.

15 million for a Muira is just unreasonable. It's not that special.

Thank God for the stealth cars. Saved me close to 10 million I would have had to spend on the 787B and R10 alone.
 
Forza 3 had the exact same problem. Turn 10 "solved" it by using the insanely expensive cars as competition prizes. Maybe Sony/PD will do the same.

Well, those aren't exactally the kind of cars you just go to locar dealer a buy aren't they?

There were only four 330 P4 build by Ferrari ever!!!

A real 330 P4 would worth millions of dollars, as a Ford Mk IV. An Audi R10 isn't even for sale...

I think isn't supposed by PD that we would be buyng this exclusive cars just from the start, It's supposed to have to work very hard for this cars.

But more ahead in the game, with Endurance races and Extreme Series we could earn money very quick.

Agreed! These cars are not ment for everybody, but to the most fanatic of us. I find it good that some cars are very highly priced. That way everyone cant just buy up all the good cars after 30 hours of gameplay. 👍

These three cars are to split the boys from the men. And I intend to buy one of them, secure my trophy and then rethink about buying the other two lol.
 
On one of the sites I use for expensive cars (only looking), the only old race car I found was this porsche-906.

Goes for less then a Zonda F or R or a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR , but still not the most accessible cars.

Don't we play GT because we can't afford / don't want to save up for those cars in real life ? :)
 
I understand all of this, and I also consider myself one of the "men".

I will save up and buy most of these cars, but I wish it was a bit more reasonable. If there was an event for 250k credits, maybe that would help.

There are so many cars/mods I want to buy before I spend 20M credits on a single car...so it's going to be a long road ahead.
 
It took me like 4 hours of grinding in Prologue to buy the F2007 for 2,000,000. Now they want 12,000,000 for a car I already got in the demo? I have yet to see an event that earns you 50,000 in 1:30, so It would take even longer to get, and that's just grinding. 12 hours of just doing one race over and over and over again - there's got to be something we're missing here. Does anyone have the guide?

I don't even want to THINK about how much the X1 costs. Could well be in the 100 million range, given it's a non-existent prototype.
 
I've already got a Miura and P4 which I recieved in a trade for my RUF Yellowbird (got it back 2 days after lol)... no idea how the person I traded with got them both in the first place
 
I want them all, the TZ2 especially... =/
 
Until something changes I 'll keep 'grinding away' :)


Has anyone bought a F1 Ferrari yet?
 
Considering that my GT4 profile is sitting & collecting dust with over 300 cars in the garage and 30 Million dollars in the bank.. I can see why GT5 would include some insanely expensive cars.

As you progress through the game, you'll probably find that 20 mill isn't THAT hard to bank.

The point of the game is not to buy the one car that destroys every other car, the point of the game is to hone your driving skills and the opportunity to get to know a huge variety of cars.

This isn't GT1 where all you had to do was by a 3000GT and dominate everything.

330 P4s are not worth $20 million, though. They are barely getting even $9 million at the auctions. The $15 million for the Miura is beyond ridiculous. The best, most pristine examples of the Miura go for $500K at most. Even with the in-game car's history, the value would not exceed anymore than another $20K.
 
If you dont mind me saying but maybe you win some of them for example the nostalgia supercar cup =)
 
Let's hope they follow the standard procedure for games with unlockable/purchasable items these days, and in the very near future allow you to buy an unlock key for various cars with real money on the PSN store.

Sure, it's the type of DLC that's usually frowned upon, but at least it gives people with less time and persistence on their hands the opportunity to acquire the items.

And maybe that should be applied to unlocking the Nordschleife 24h track and perhaps the Top Gear track as well.
Needing to score gold on the former is no doubt going to be an impossible task for many players (I've got around eight years worth of sim racing under my belt, but I've never been a fast driver so getting better than silver here is probably unlikely to happen).
And getting gold on that first Top Gear challenge is driving me up the wall as well, although with enough attempts and a little luck I imagine it should be doable.

If you don't have time to do something that's literally an hour into the game I'm surprised you had time to install it.

I'm not sure the in game CREDIT system is denominated in your local currency. Federal Reserve Notes (Dollar Bills) would appear with a $ in front as well as all the other currencies and their respective symbols.
