Anyone know if they have a save function from the pitlane or something, or do you have to race for 24 hours? Or just hope the PS5 doesn't close the game when you put it in rest mode?

The PS5 doesn't close your game in rest mode. But of course relying on that option would be an incredibly weak dick move from PD.

No it doesn't but for some games it can mess them up when you wake it up to carry on playing. Both BF6 and EA WRC have issues reconnecting to the server IME. I think it will also close the game automatically in rest mode if it discovers a new update. So if that's the only way to save your 24hr race, I'll wait until they patch in some kind of save game feature from the pitlane

It's been my experience that GT7 is 100% reliable when suspending and resuming on PS5.

However:

I think it will also close the game automatically in rest mode if it discovers a new update.
It does - and GT7 (as a whole) is unplayable and cannot be saved until updated and restarted. Also power cuts, kids getting on your console to play Among Us on their accounts, and acts of dog.

To answer your first question, we've not had anyone unlock and start one of the multi-hour endurance races (to my knowledge) yet to report back.

To me it seems like a oversight to not have a save/suspend feature in a 24H races, is the payout worth running the game that long, seems like something we could already create in custom races.

is the payout worth running the game that long
Couldn't tell you - I can't find any way to see race payouts any time before finishing the race - but as a data point I just nabbed 315,000cr for nine (clean) laps of Trial Mountain...

I'm thinking they'll be high.

Eagerly waiting on someone unlocking the long races to see if there's a save function. So far the best we have is someone in the other thread claiming their buddy did it and there's no save function but that seems unreliable.

I desperately hope the rumor of not being able to save our 24 hr races during the race are not true I’ve been wanting these to come to the game for some time along with other types of endurance races that aren’t 24 hr like in GT4 or GT5 but they don’t seem like they are in the power pack although the tweet seems like a pretty unreliable source for now

In the other thread someone is currently doing the 8 hour Spa race and can't find a save option.

This may have turned my very positive opinion of the DLC fully around. What a joke.

Because you planned on running 24 hour races on a daily basis? A missing save feature turns the DLC from an overall positive to an overall negative.

Because I'm a dad with an 18 month old and my own business and there's just no logistical way I would ever be able to do a 24 hour race now. Even with suspending the PS5 the odds of a power flicker or an update or the dog tripping over the power cable or any number of things makes it a completely useless feature and I don't think I'm the only one. We do this because we can't do real races.

Still doesn't change the ENTIRETY of the DLC from good to awful. Would it have been a nice convenience? Sure. Does it negate the many other positive and valuable aspects of the DLC, no.

You wrote "This may have turned my very positive opinion of the DLC fully around. What a joke." If you only bought it for the endurance events, you should know that you could have done that in the base game as well. It's just that few do it.

You seem to misunderstand the word "opinion"

Someone posted a resume from progress data button in FB group.
resume.webp

Thats good news, maybe this allows you to go do other events outside the power pack, and not suspend the whole game.

It looks like you resume with a rolling start in the same position as when you left the race but with the deltas reset to starting position. So basically a safety car restart. Not perfect, but it's something.

At least we have something. Hoping to have, sooner rather than later, a proper save option.

What I find even more bizarre from PD is to have this sort of limited resume under SC feature and not document it anywhere. Where they really waiting for the first guy to dare exit game mid race on one of the 24h races, risking the progress so far just to discover this feature as it is now?

Always the game within the game 😄

I've unlocked all the Endurance races, tried a 4 lap stint in all of them, i get no option to mid-race save progress.
Only option from pause menu is to retire from race, there's no save option when in pits either.
And if i quit the race, and click on it again, i just 'Enter' button, no 'Resume from Progress Data'

Anyone else find any other info?

Pack is done for me now.

As i understand the other posters, the resume option doesn't come up when you retire a race but when you just close GT7 completely or shut down the PS5 mid race. Don't retire first. Could you maybe take the time to check that of you can sometime?

Tried both, every time i go back to the race i get the 'Enter' race, no resume.
You pause the game in-race (minimum 7+ laps at least it seems). Then you click of the PS logo button of the wheel/controller to 'minimise' game and then proceed to close the GT7 game from the PS desktop.
Next time you open the game and enter that particular event, you should see the option to 'resume' the race from the data saved entry point, which will let you continue the race under a Safety Car restart procedure (with fresh tires but fuel level as it was before pausing the race).

Great!
Did second event, the same process as before and it saved progress.
So you can 'at least' have 2 with progress saved.

I reckon either the 10mins, or after every 5 laps is the key.
And that you have to go to the PS dashboard to close game.

Would of been nice of PD to mention any of this somewhere.

I've been trying to replicate this in non-endurance races, and without success so far at two and six laps (corresponding to five and 11 minutes of those races).
