I am sorry to say people that I might not be able to join you all this weekend. Due to some unforseen family issues, I might not be home and therefore won't be able to participate. I will see what I can do, but I'm not promising anything.

well do your best because you still have the rest of the week till then so don't worry about it.

Just wanted to post before I PM. Sorry about the tardiness of this; it was very poorly planned on my part.

I may not be able to submit my time right after the race as I will be starting and ending at 1 am. That is, if the race starts at 4pm GMT. When exactly does it start. I am GMT+9hours.

The race starts @ 4PM GMT...

Sorry to say I've missed the race, having expected it to be at 4, but forgetting that I'm in a very different Time Zone to all you guys. Sorry.

oh, with just over an hour left until the start I thought I would let everyone know that I will be running the Pescarolo C60

I'm assuming that, based on the text under your screen name there Deimos, that you're located in the United Kingdom...Therefore, unless it was after 3PM your local time when you posted your message, you had not missed the race...

However, if it was after 3pm local UK time, then yes, you're right....you did miss it... :(

34 minutes to go. I'm switching to a Black GT One. I've logged more miles in this car than any other in GT4.

I have my Excel Spreadsheet ready. I have some water, and biscuits. I am turning on the PS2 and sitting on the starting grid..

VRRRRR VRRRRR

The race started 46 minutes ago. I overslept a bit, so my submission is going to be a little bit late. B-Spec Bob is at the wheel right now, how's everyone else doing with their race?

i didnt get to race it either,i forgot i had bookwork and it started at 9am,or well it came on tv here at 9am,and my bookwork was at 9 :dunce: ,so all yall have fun :guilty:

started right on time. am 3 hours in and have b spec bertrand doing his first stint. it is 2am here and I am going to grab some sleep. am exchanging the lead with the R92CP. Is alot of fun.

Le Mans, France June 18th 2005:
NEWS UPDATE - 10:45am PST:

Race car driver privateer "SimRaceDriver", in his Audi R8 powered LMP has steadily moved up to leaders in this years running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Before the race, SRD was quoted as saying he's not looking to win the race at this point in time but is merely out to finish the race and do the best he can.

"Maybe he should rethink that now that he's along side the leaders with a pretty decent chance at winning...his co-driver Imma Toslow <B-Spec Driver> stated!

For a look at the action, let's cut over to the 'in-car camera' within the Audi R8 powered LMP car...and watch about 90 seconds of incar footage...tape delayed by only serveral minutes...
Click here to view it now....
NOTE: File is a .mov file w/in a zip file...

I didn't miss it. But I did now. I was mislead by a post further back that said the race started at 12pm in France. Deducting an hour from that gave me 11am, so I thought I'd missed it. Returning to here, I find the race did indeed start at 4pm. I'm a little upset, I must say.

oh, the care nr 13 leaves his left rear tiere, and all of the reare his car...
what a ruine....
he enter the pits.. i'm surprised

Le Mans, France June 19th 2005:
NEWS UPDATE:

After almost 11 hours of racing, the Audi R8 powered LMP1 of SimRaceDriver has once again regain the leaders and is slowly pulling ahead once again!

Upon completing his 3rd 2-hour stint behind the wheel, SimRaceDrier (SRD) handed the batton back to team-mate and B-spec driver Imma Toslow, who, just hours earlier, fell behind the front leading Nissan R92C and gradually fell over a lap down!

When asked what was the contributing factor to the significant loss of time, Imma exclaimed..."I just couldn't find a groove with all the traffic out there today! It was so hectic out there! I was literally fighting for my life just to stay with the other leaders, but just couldn't maintain a significant pace!"

"It was definitely a dog-fight out there the last couple of hours I tell you", quoted SRD. "I don't blame Imma for what happended out there as there wasn't much he could do and when I got back behind the wheel, I just knew we could catch up, especially when you consider we weren't even 1/2 way through the race yet!

And that's exactly what SRD & Imma have done over the last few hours...regain the lap they were down, and fight & claw their way back up along side their fellow front runners.

When asked about how well he thought he had done after completing his last 2hr stint, SRD had this to say:

"It's still anyones race, as we all know, but we like our chances, especially because even after 11 hours, the R8 is holding its own!"

Only time will tell though if SRD and Imma Toslow can hold off the rest of the front runners and cross the finish line ahead of everyone else!

From Le Mans, France, I'm your GTPlanet Roving News Reporter, Wally Wallflower.
Back to you Dan in the studio! :D

just woke up. B spec Bertrand has run 9 hours or so. We are half way through the race and he hasn't given up the lead. He runs more consistently than I do even if he is 8 secs slower or so.

Well, my run in the C5R is nothing short of disasterous. So far I think I'm some 15 laps down (I have the TV turned off for the night while letting BSpec Bob do his thing). Even with me behind the wheel, the car pales in comparison to the LMPs out there (I still love the way it handles though; not jittery at all and right in line with my driving style). Still, I'm having fun with it.

Announcement:
When submitting your time, please include the car you ran. I may have already said this, but I wanted to remind everyone. Thank you.

271 laps done. B spec is in for another go, while I cool down and refresh myself. Still in the lead by less than a lap.

Hey Jpec07:

Throughout the night, I’ve had to momentarily pause my game in order to:
* Use Bathroom
and/or
* Answer phone/Door Bell

And in doing so, I’m now just about 15 minutes behind on the official, ‘real life’ race, so my question to you is:

A. Do I keep going and finish ‘my game’, even though it will be about 15 minutes after the real race is over?

OR

B. Stop the game at the official ending of the real race?

Any info would be greatly appreciated…and I’ll be checking back here throughout the night looking for an update… ;)

Thanks! 👍

SRD, it seems you've come up with the answer for that yourself (I have a parade to go to in about half an hour for Marching Band, so B-Spec Bob probably gave up my podium while I was sleeping). Still, all's well that ends well.

Now that the race is over...

All participants, please PM me with the following:
Car:
Total Time:
Laps Completed:
Miles Driven:

I will post a spreadsheet with the winners on it once I get all of the information.

Oh and how 'bout that? First American win in 30 someodd years. What a race...

35 actually and in what better fashion then for the Audi R8's last le mans race and a seventh win for "Mr. Le Mans" Tom Kristensen.

Any word on the 'winners' yet there Jpec07? Or are you still waiting on everyone else to send in their race information?
