The "Redemption" tie-in last night was pretty good, which makes me excited for a good season. The last one started off pretty well, but things got a little crazy, and I stopped watching. Nevertheless, it looks like they're addressing some African politics, which should be an interesting change of pace. I'm looking forward to the new season, lets hope it goes as well as the whatchamacallit thing last night.

After watching the older Season 7 preview clips then Redemption and now that newer Season 7 clip I'm thinking that Tony is doing what he is to make a point about global affaris. Not that that makes him right to do what he's doing but it makes things interesting, especially if they play on any conflict Jack will have/should have between his country, global affaris and his relationship with Tony.

CTU is disbanded? WTF? Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this season, it's been too damn long. We missed you Jack. <3

Looking forward to season 7... Seen Redemption, now I really wanna see 24 now, shame its not out until February though!?

Does Cherry Jones have like one Chinese grandparent or something?

It is so strange to see Janeane Garofalo trying to defend her country instead of trying to destroy it. However, I find her strangely erotic, especially the scene involving her facing off with Chloe in a hack battle.

I don't think we've got as far as you, we've just had episode 1 yesterday. It was quite a good episode but like every season of 24 you know it's only warming up.

Episodes 1 and 2. :D

I felt a little... shortchanged by the way they very quickly went from "Jack on trial" to "OMFG! CRISIS!" - most other seasons have worked the threat up and got Jack involved gradually, and more should have been made of Jack's trial in the first hour. I'm still a little worried about the lack of plausibility (with the rapidfire segue in hour 1 in mind) of Almeida as a bad guy - no doubt the JFK incident will serve as an indicator that he can be "saved" - and Jack just happening to work with someone who's a Bauer fangurl.

But, all-in-all, I enjoyed the first 2 hours, just as Jack enjoyed picking up that craft knife...

Well, your questions about Tony are answered pretty quickly in the third and fourth hours. ;)

This season smells ripe of implausibility. I find it highly unlikely that a microchip or two could take down the entire infrastructure for a significant period of time, and that the government has no safeguards/backups in place to stop hackers. However, the e-terror/Africa angle is a welcome change from the "Muslim terrorist from [country un-named] has a bomb in Los Angeles" angle.

If you want to talk about implausible, I laughed for forever when the head FBI guy flew in a helicopter over the boat where Jack caught Tony. He should’ve been like “Hey guys!” or “Just checking out some waterfront property!”

Is it just me or does the entire plot of this season remind you of a particular summer blockbuster?

Not that I'm all that mad, I guess. I've watched the first three and a half hours (missed most of episode 3), and I'm relatively meh on it. They're playing around the torture issue nicely, but I still feel likely they're attempting to justify it... Makes me feel iffy sometimes.

So, I’m watching Season 7 on Hulu, Season 1 on Hulu, and my friend’s Season 4 DVDs. Confusing for my little brain? Yup.

Finally took the plunge and started watching 24 this season.

I'm hooked, and borrowed Season 1 on DVD from my in-laws yesterday.

So season 7's your first taste, damn you've got a lot of catching up to do. It's worth it though.

I love it so far. I'm to the point where I don't care about plausibility any more; it's just a fun show.

Can't wait to see what happens tonight.

I was able to pick up on the basics after an episode or two.

I was hoping we'd see some Porsche-on-abandoned-air-base action yesterday, but Jack Bauer likes American iron, from what I've gleaned.

I must say, I'm really liking the fact that CTU no longer exists and Jack is essentially out there on his own (I know he has Bill, Tony, Chloe, etc. but still...). It puts a nice spin on things.

Also, I can't stand this new President. Every time she comes into a scene, I imagine David Palmer walking in and punching her in the face.

I seriously hope the real White House isn't quite that easy to take cover. I mean, c'mon...I know it's a TV show and there's some suspension of disbelief, but...wow. But on the plus side, I really enjoyed the action (finally!).

Pretty much sums it up right there, I sure as hell did not see that coming.

But then again, things could not be wrapped up that neatly so early on either.

I dunno. There's still the possibility he's in deep, deep (deep) cover, but he did kill the head of the FBI, and that's a tough one to justify.

FOX has been broken since Saturday here on campus. When do they put episodes up on the website?

Mmmmm, Kim Bauer is still fantastic.

Can the actors top berating me over why I should be "green" and receive an "energy audit" on my home? I suppose producing a television show that has 24 episodes of things blowing up isn't exactly helping "Climate Change"... uh, I mean "Global Warming".

I'll keep my HDTV on a bit longer tonight.
