lol check this out, the only pic i could find is from a magazine called "DONKS" (took it with my cellphone) 👍

edit: the driverside are clear and the passanger side are a different type of wheel.

Some people have more money than brains. Those look terrible.

That is the most awesome thing I've seen all week 👍

And by awesome I mean really, deeply retarded.

Still, the thought that goes through my head is a. brake heat and cooling issues, b. Turning with those gigantic wheels and c. What happens when you get a flat?

What happens when you get a flat?
Nothing. Those tires have something like an /05 aspect ratio. If you get a flat, the car drops 1/2" on that wheel and you never notice.

There's video of this mutant idiot doing a burnout, too. Nothing quite like paying $3000 apiece for useless giant tires and then burning them off the rim.

must be no have the funding to replace them i guess. . .

I just heard about these clear wheels a couple days ago on the xbox forum. I couldnt believe it. I assume that is the video with the 350Z doing burnouts. lol

This is by far the worst wheel invention I have ever heard of. I could barely handle the spinners and some looked decent but come on who the heck wants clear wheels??!! I know it will be come the next fad but this is terrible. BTW I never say anything bad about other peoples cars but the car in the first thread is the ugliest car I have ever seen. Massive lift with skinny tires on a car with clear wheels and stock rotors. WTF!!? If your going to have clear wheels at least stuff some 13" Baer or Wilwood rotors and calipers behind them.
What happens when you get a flat?
Just like Duke said, when you have tires that are that low profile you dont notice a flat at all besides the way the car handles. I have had some low profile tires and one of them went flat in the rear of my 95 Firebird. I couldnt even tell by looking at it.

Yeah, Seen this one in the Questionable Mods thread. I still don't know how that plex rides at 65 MPH. I can imagine the thing wobbling...

I have to admit I am wondering... aside from the heat issues Drunknard... I mean.. Miata13b ;) brought up, I wonder what would happen if that car encountered an average pothole at 55 mph.

Yeah, it's polycarbonate, so it's really resistant to impact. But now you've got something that is going to transmit all that energy into the suspension instead of bending (like alloys will) to absorb some of that impact. What happens if it's too much? Will it break the strut? Will it crack, then shatter like other thermoplastics?

Maybe there's a mechanical engineer among us that might know.

Sad...this thing has its own thread now.

Those are amazing! If I had enough money I would buy some 17" ones and put them on the Corsa! They are the height of cool! But are they safe?? I suppose not having spokes and being one solid piece makes them as safe as steel wheels...

Like those ones!

You don't get out much, do you?

Or is my Sarcasm Detector on the blink again?

If you look at the first picture it looks like he has normal wheels on the front passenger side, or am I seeing things?

I find them amusing. I'd never consider buying one, but I think they are fun to look at.

That car is PIMPIN'!! [/CHEESY SARCASM]

This brings me to a question: Why?? It looks rediculous, sounds bad for the cars and serves no point.
