Thanks Symtex for the nice pics and those videos are sharp....although I find it hard to even watch someone else drive with the chase camera angle, nonetheless drive that way myself. Hey does the demo let you pick a different camera?? May we see ???

Your video is ready my friend.

I have refine my captures. what do you think of this one ?

I don't like the word photorealistic. no game on this generation is close to the level of details needed to call it Photorealistic. If you have read my previous post on this board, Some of the track visual (Fuji Speedway, Tsukuba) are extremely well done.

I think Technicaly, Gran Turismo 4, texture are still low-res and the game still needs anisotropic and AA samples but I think they did a very good job with what they had to work with, Kudos to PD for that. Some of the screenshot or video I've done are very very very good. It's going to be a quality products.
Well that's your opinion ofc, photorealistic is just an art style, not a level of detail. But is gt4 the most realistic looking game you have seen? If not, show me the racing game you think looks more realistic.

The words "crap" and "quality" come to mind. :p

That is exactly how the game looks. so are you saying GT4 is looks like quality crap ? i don't follow you. I tried really hard to make the best grab with the best camera view possible.

Fourmula 1 Challenge 99-02, its for pc, and GT-R, another PC sim, absolutely BLOW AWAY GT-4, and Forza

Maybe technically but in visuals, those games look old and tired. Remember, PC games tend to look very computerized :dopey: Honestly, there's no racing game on the pc that looks half as realistic as gt4.

What so the image on my tv is going to be an horrible blurry mess? We're talking PS2 here not Xbox with it's blurry RGB output. :)

Blurry RGB output ? are you freaking kidding me ? have you ever tried to capture a car in motion ? You guys are really pissing me off. I kept going out of my way to bring you new media and all you do is crap on them.

Yes the game looks like that in motion. What can I say. an xbox in components in 10x better than any s-video and composite so you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I hope to God a racing game on a PC blows away a racing game on a CONSOLE!....Cuz if not, then you better upgrade your computer! :D

But comparing PC racing games against console racing games is like comparing Apples to Oranges....

Now, I could be wrong here but I do believe cobragt was referring to another racing game on the PS2 and whether or not that game can hold a candle to GT4 and what it has to offer.

It's blurry because it is two interlaced screens spliced together. It is impossible to get a perfect screenshot from an interlaced source.

Symtex - don't take it personally, but that looks blurry. Just my personal opinion.

it does look a bit blurry but it's extremly hard to capture anything in motion. If you have seen the video that I have posted, they are very clean and really good quality. I try every program I know I just can't capture anything to the level of quality that PD is doing because they are capturing directly from the PS2 buffer.

It's a universal fact the Xbox has a poor RGB output compared to PS2. :dopey: Have I ever tried to capture a moving car? Yes I have with my old ATI card, and it looked a damn sight better than your captures. But sadly that card has passed away. :indiff:

I don't believe you. I had an ATI all-in Wonder 8500 and my capture card is 10 times better. Take the time to click on my signature and download any of my video. you will see the quality. now try to take a snapshot and see how good you can come up with.

and BTW, I use Monster Components cable and it's better than anything ps2 can product because it's in 480P.

I'm not talking about physics or anything, I'm talking about visuals. PC racers own in simulation but no other racing game on the pc looks half as realistic as gt4, period. GTR doesnt look realistic at all.

That is so very true. It will be years untill we see computer games up to GT4 standards, graphics wise.

Not sure if i agree with you there. PC software is already a generation ahead of console systems and has been for many generations. I just think there isn't much of a market on the PC for a racing sim.

PC racers could look alot better but I guess the developers dont focus on the visuals as much as they should. GTR might be the most advanced racer graphically but it looks meh.

So when I'm going to receive my import japanese copy, you don't want me to post any video or picture of the game ? If according to GT community standard, if it's not high-res photoshop, it's not acceptable ?

*shakes heads*

my captures aren't high-res photoshops, yet i think it's acceptable quality to represent how GT4 really looks:

this is only S-Video: i play PS2 on my TV using RGB Scart and GT4 looks slightly better than this :)

but don't be misguided, we appreciate ur pics and the time u put into it, so keep em coming - some Falken GTR on Nürburgring pics would be welcome since my cheapo TV-card can't handle NTSC :indiff:

At least you are being reasonable. I can definetly give you some Falken GTR on Nurb but i'm not sure about the quality of the video since the output of the PS2 Demo is very dark.

You know, Symtex... I'm going to commend your efforts on getting these screenshots no matter how they look. Maybe since I have a crappy computer, I could care less about deep visual quality for fast connections. Other than that, nice job on the scans no matter HOW they look. I can't even make screenshots of whatever games I play, so don't feel bad about all of this, Symtex. You're doing pretty well with these pictures, so I'm not holding this against you for your efforts. I'm more like "as long as you try." Remember, all people like you are here for a special purpose- to show us more pictures and stuff of GT4 and to p*ss us off that we still have to wait to play GT4.

So Symtex, if the negative comments are getting to you, I just want to provide a different perspective. And I hope it worked. Good job for your efforts and for everyone else for that matter. Big ups to Dev_Zero, CobraGT, NavyAD, Discovolante, ALPHA, Samberto, all of you providing pictures and data for us GT fans. 👍
