We definitely have a higher standard. When i race in other lobbies i have to drive my crap 80s cars to give others a chance at the win. In shuffle rooms, i can usually place top 3 no matter what car i get or how nasty the driving gets (see above video).

Anyway, tonight we can do shuffle. Start with boost off but i want to see how much action we can get in with boost on low. Crappy cars will stay with the pack, but they wont be able to pass.

Wtf man. Not sure to blame PSN or GT5 but tonight was a comedy of errors.

shuffle should give drivers who place lower better cars, but consistently the top drivers were getting the best cars. I think we went 4 races in a row where Bowtie had cars that i simply could not pass, even on a long straight in the draft. and diabolic won 3 races in a row with cars i couldnt come close to catching.

Also, why on earth does the room come to a standstill when one driver fails to load, and why does the host have to wait for newcomers to load before he can change the track?

Not sure what happened with that last room i created. I got on track and after a lap cars stopped moving on the track. When i hit start, i didnt get the menu to exit. I couldnt even get to the psn menu. I had to kill the PS3.

Good news for the Time Trial...they give you the car and no tuning is allowed.👍 The track is fun but the skid force recovery feels a little bit weird for me...anyway its very fun!I got the pole for 5min, now its dropping...:)

Some decent racing last night, couple pubbers being rough at nurb made it an awesome race.

Drunk Driving!

I wished we had a video of just how big the Range Rover was last night.

That happened a few nights ago (range rover) on Tuskuba. The guy blamed the car for his driving...which obviously included punting 2 cars on every hairpin.

Spec 3 should fix that.

Except for the SCEA servers. There is no fixing those.

Comedy of errors indeed. We had a rotating group of 7-8 people vying for the last 4 spots in the room and I think finally karma just said "Enough alread, I'm shuttin this down."

As to the cars given...I think we can all agree the system is crap. My first race of the night was on Nurb which I won by 10+ sec in a Maza RX-8. Then they give me an S2000 Type V?? I couldnt believe it. Even though I started last, I was in first before the first sector was over. Just like the previous race, I followed one car through the field (first was Range Rover, this race was Audi TT)...then he touched the grass and that race was another 10+ sec victory. Next race was Special stage 5 and I did pull the less than stellar Renault Sport V6 24 valve, but I was the quickest through the last section by a wide margin and although I kept getting rundown on the straight, I was able to ekk out a 1.5 second victory. Chuyler, meanwhile, landed the worst shuffle car based on the other cars in the room, I've ever seen when the C2 Corvette rolled his way. Tough break. Then the network went rogue and I quit a race later.

EDIT--I have seen the Mustang Mach 1 given out in rooms with Lancer TM and 3000GT VR4 as well, but I think we someone has a 90s RX-7 and someone else has a turbocharges supra and you land a 40+ year old 3 speed 'vette, the game isnt pulling for you.

It helps somewhat to keep the shuffle ratio low. The crap cars still come up, but there doesn't seem to be as many with a huge gap in pp. When I run the dirty room the shuffle ratio is 3 tops.

Its been only the couple weeks since I have noticed any one person getting an evening of good or bad luck with a long streak of good or bad cars.

Yeah the Vette was a joke. I could pass a few cars by maintaining proper momentum through certain parts of the track, but i'd just get passed back on any straight section. I even tried short shifting but it was just slow as a dog and wouldn't turn.

The prior race I think I had an Elise. Not a bad car for Nurburgring on a regular 450 night, but if you've ever raced the TGTT special event you know that car is a handful in stock trim. I was braking hard for turns I normally coast around, and if anyone got near me it would spin in circles.

ran it for a few hours yesterday, reminded me of my gt academy round 3 start day lol.. same car on eifel :yuck: But the car seemed a lot different..almost wants to be thrown into corners instead of being driven smooth. 1:34.3XX so far, targeting 33s, but someone is already down to a high 1:32, havent watched his replay but seems to uber fast !

Congrats Cenk!I saw you #23rd the other day....👍
I've watch a replay and the guy was burning his front tires all the time (maybe 3/4 of the race)That's how we do with SRF to be fast... Quote from an old thread>>
he was over powering the steering to get the car turning more sharply around the corner.Works only with SRF enabled, otherwise you'll just get understeer.
I can't do that with the Ds3 (turning radius increase with speed).I can't do much better than my current time (1:35'697)...maybe 35'3 is possible. With SRF don't be smooth,be violent....
almost wants to be thrown into corners.

Just gave the time trial a quick go. There is one tricky corner that I was not expecting first time through. First completed lap was 1'41.xxx, second lap was 1'39.xxx and third was the 1'38.xxx I have now. I'm going to mess around with it a bit this evening until I am in the 1'36s, but I am not willing to put much into it after that. Since a free car was involved, I have just done my first seasonal time trial. Yay me!

PS: How odd, I am exactly 3.000 seconds off Nic's run currently.
PPS: I'm 923 and Cenk is now 39th

I peaked early (and gave up because I had the car)..put in a decent 1'41, took my 200% cash, prize car, and went home.

Gonna be trying the GT-R TT this weekend. My goal is to try to get within 3 tenths of Nic. ;)

The SRF throws me way off, I got so mad I quit without posting a lap

Thanks Nick. Wish the academy was as easy. That 1 week was pretty crazy. I was hanging around rank 8-12 on west coast, realizing only the 8th spot would be available by the 5th day. It felt like I hit my limit, I still gave it a shot sunday morning but ended up 1.1 secs shy of a total time of 3:45.XXX. I think this challenge is a warm up for GT academy 2012. I'm not running it this time. Don't have that kind of time available anymore..

Yeah the SRF thing :) its opposite of last years setup, any extensive power drift would be time lost, and that was what I lacked, finesse. And now back to being violent lol ran a 1:34 flat, will try 33s tomorrow.

edit: ran 25-30 laps yesterday, down to 1:33.520. Want to run another session today, hopefully shave off more time. Started to get used to SRF, have a feeling this car might actually be this way IRL lol

Someone is going to have to host wednesday going forward. I may be able to host tonight, but after this week I will be a no-go.

Ran 5 TT laps just now on lunch hour. Dropped 1.2 sec down to 1'37.5xx. Im up (or down depending on how you look at it) to 623rd worldwide. With the SRF active, reaching ones top time will require probably 10+ consecutive laps...chipping away. I think the low 1'36s will be my best offering when I get back to it this evening.
PS: We should have ring night involve all rings. adding autumn and cape tracks will give more variety and allow different cars to succeed

I posted one. I didn't feel like learning a track that I'd never see again in a car (more precisely a configuration for a car) that I won't actually run.

We've had this track before. It was in an old seasonal. Wish I could remember which one, but I remember the track.

room up 400-500 PP running anything ring (cape, autumn, nurb)

maybe you should name the room "osprey's 450PP ring club" or something next week..

Anyone wants to do S800 race car one make race tonight?

Rather do a Cappachino race. There is two of them, with more tuning options and can paint them.

there's two cappas?

I'm pretty sure there are two. A 91 and a 96 or something like that. I'm not home right now but I can verify it when I get home.

Edit: Home now. There are 2 Cappys. A 91 and a 95.
