I may end up being able to host. However, I will be drunk. Eff this job.
Apart from the license tests, I haven't driven any of the off-road tracks. I really can't say what is going to be good, but I think the Ram will likely end up being a bully on the track if others pick lighter cars.
I drove the M3 a few times, a Golf R32 a couple times, and I tried an Elise for one race. Those were the only euro cars I had in the 450 range.Yes, I actually did miss that part, honestly. I'm confused, I thought you said you were in an M3 for some reason, but I'm not feeling up to going back & re-reading to see where things got confused.
I think this really depends on the car. Sure you can detune the crap out of LMP cars and they'll kill everything even at their lowest level because all the downforce they have being race cars, but if you're sticking pretty much to street cars it works pretty well. And you have to remember that if someone detunes a car to 50% they are drastically squishing their HP curve, and that will cause the car to have acceleration problems and feel very sluggish depending on how severe the curve is affected.I don't get the sense that everyone knows, and this is NOT aimed at anyone HERE, or anyone in particular... that a car that's base is 450pp, that's tuned up to say 500pp, then power limited back down to 450pp, is going to, hands down, outperform a 400pp car tuned up to 450pp, and sometimes even someone driving fast from sloppy corner to sloppy corner, wiping out at every tricky turn, can still easily beat someone driving really clean in a lower performance car, despite the pp limit on the race.
As a whole, I despise FF. Though there are some FF cars that handle alright and I tolerate them. But you'll usually always find me in an FR car or at the very least something RWD in general. I enjoy 4WD occasionally, but mostly only for rally events. Really the only time I'll drive FF is because I have to. But yes you're right about the Lupo... it's FF and it's actually not too bad.I don't think all FF cars are terrible. I think the Lupo is an FF? and I find it very nice. (And yes, I just wish I'd done the lupo race in aspec the first time with a REGULAR lupo - I used a gti cup car and it was too easy - I do like taking road cars on the nurburg track a lot - I think there should've been more nurburg in aspec - seems like it's all just daytona & indy).
I'm starting to get the impression that you drove (bought?) a normal Golf IV. As I mentioned before, the one in that picture was the R32, which is a special edition that is 4WD. It's much easier to drive than the normal Golf. And you surely would have as many issues controlling it as you may with with the Mk IV. So if you do have a regular (premium) Golf IV then I would reccomend you RM it. It's a much more fun and balanced car once it's RM'd and with a little bit of suspension tweaking you can practically rid it of that horrible understeer completely. 👍The golf though, like the yellow one in the picture, is what I tried. And it wouldn't turn for anything. It won't turn when you're accellerating or braking, and it won't turn when you're not doing those things either! My lupo isn't that disagreeable.
I never ran that track until I saw it was used for GT Academy. It's now one of my favorite configurations. Turn 1 and 2 are a real challenge but when you nail it you make up tons of time.Had the S2K set up pretty good for Grand Valley and could have had kept pace up front if I made it there. I have never ran that track backwards. I have to say I really like it. That first turn is really challenging and very rewarding when you hit both apexes.
I'd be up for this. Maybe next week we'll try it out.I did some random 500-550pp races and had a blast using my F40 in online mode. What a viscous "female-dog" that car is! We should try boosting the PP to 500-525 and do a super-car night, similar to Muscle car
