I had similar problems and ended up hard wiring my PS3 and seems to have stopped.

Is there a theme for tonight? Read the OP.

any one playing tonight.

was ok during the practice laps but was disconnected once the race started on trial mountain and only played about 2 laps on Tsukuba till that dreaded message pop out again stating.

will be hardwiring it today for the 80's race....

ive had this problem before too. im wireless as well, but the ps3 is right above the router... 1 floor above that is. hardwiring is not possible.

ive reset my modem and router and that has helped before. one night, still wouldnt work. sometimes i think it is where it is hosted as well... as in the physical distance.

also... send you a friend request leadbedr. i couldnt find your room one night, but i could last night, but it was late and i was sleepy.

Yeah wireless networking makes your PS3 a sad panda. Happy pandas are wired.

Mine is wireless. Anyone ever see my car bounce around the screen?

no, i never see you bounce around

i am wired and last night someone mentioned that i was lagging.. that's news to me. does it happen all the time?

also, chuyler and leadbedr are the only two people i can hear on the mics. i know the others are talking but they are either very faint or i can't hear them at all.

Osprey, I got tapped by you in the first race at GVE-R, on the hairpin coming out of the tunnel. Not sure if that was lag. I know we were bump-drafting later in the race but that first tap totally put us behind. Was that lag? The rest of the race your car looked fine, no bouncing around the track or anything.

As for not hearing the driver voices. There were definitely other people talking last night. I have the driver audio going to my BT earpiece so I can adjust the volume of drivers vs the game sound. If you are playing both game sound and driver sound through your TV speakers there may be a way to adjust the levels independently but I'm not sure how to do it.

that 1st lap was driver error. :( i nudged you very lightly but it was enough to upset your car and get you sideways.

Ok, that's what it felt like :) Too bad we couldn't catch the leader on that race. The Supra (sl3ight i think) was just too fast.

Cote d'Azur from last night. My RX-7 handled the switch backs beautifully. The race seems pretty laid back from watching the video, but I had that miata in my rearview for 4 laps and I knew I was going to have to run clean laps to keep my lead. I have never had a good finish at this track.

osprey... i would see you in the lounge, but i couldnt see you in the races.

i didnt have a good night last night. every lap i found a way to screw it up. just barely hitting the edge would spin the damn car. i was frustrated.

Grip was set to real...which usually makes off track shenanigans end poorly. It takes forever to get out of the sand traps. I started last at LeSarthe, and couldn't see anything behind all the cars. I hit the sand trap on the first left turn. I spent the next 2 laps passing other cars in sand traps to finish 6th. I didn't race along side one car.

I like the night racing though, the graphics are really cool. We'll have to do a night-time night or something and pick some tracks I am more familiar with.

I only hear dead people. Oh and pidgeons I always hear pidgeons squabbling. Now that I think about it, that may have been agrenadeshark but its tough to tell.

Might have been my cat. He likes to play with the steering wheel wires mid-race.

was a great race for me last night although the highest i got was 7th place! :dopey:
you guys race clean and it was a bad night for me, didnt set up my car that well. took me a lot of tries but to no avail. best run i have was on Trial Mountain then Mt. Aso but my set up was discouraging and mistakes was paid dearly.

at least no more connection problems. that night driving was my first and Chuyler overtook me once i spun out and was 1:55secs or more behind the leader ever since. Cote D Azur was the downer for me, my car was an understeer monster! I TORCH IT AFTER THE GAME and wont be using that thing again... need to find a new one.

see u guys again tonight!!! 👍

this remids me that I should give you all a warning.

If you ever hear someone yell "**** ****** **** ELLIOTT!" it's just me. One of our cats likes to jump on top of the TV. And being that it's all of 6" wide, I tend to not like it.

If you here someone yell "Honey, the police are here," followed by "Hide the witness and I'll burn the papers..." Consider it my signing off for the evenin

Perhaps we should make permanent the unwritten, but often spoken rule:

If you win, you switch cars for the following race. (And possibly add no more than 2 wins per vehicle)

What car were you using?

With sport soft tires, I find most suspension setups on this forum won't work well. People always seem to run -25/-25 ride heights and it simply doesn't allow enough weight transfer to get the car to nose in. I run at most -7/-7 but mostly I'm at -5/-5 or 0/0. In the video, you may notice the nose of my car dips in sync with hitting the brakes. This is how I get the car to turn in. Get the weight to transfer to the front and you'll increase front grip while reducing rear grip...much better rotation. It helps coming out of the turns too as weight transfers to the rear tires, you get less wheelspin. If the car feels sloppy through the twisties, compensate by increasing the rollbars instead of springs. Most people start messing with camber when their car understeers...but effective use of weight transfer and trail braking will work just as well.

At Mt. Aso, a car that understeers is usually easier to handle on the banked turns. The turns are tighter than they look because they are banked. If you have a car that oversteers, the backend usually comes flying out mid corner. Of course you can gain 2 seconds a lap just by hitting the last turn correctly. I have that track shared on my community page if you want to practice it. I pull it out every so often. Its easy to memorize and each turn is a different challenge.

We've mentioned this before. I'm game with it.

I switched from the RX-7 to the 300ZX after winning Rome and Cote d'Azur...but I still won the next race at Mt. Aso. I had a slight advantage since i built the track, but I have only put at most 2-3 laps on the track offline. I built it specifically for online racing and have only raced it on 450pp nights.

I will share my RX-7 and 300ZX for those who want to see the settings. The tunes are nothing special. The 300ZX is painfully slow and understeers. The RX-7 has a good engine but can get tail happy. I spun out several times at Trial Mountain just trying to keep up with the GNX.

That Supra I had set up for last night was really consistent. I think the FC RX-7 that was running was faster on a perfect lap though. The Supra was just very easy to drive and good on tires. Good racing last night anyway. I had a 300ZX and a Miata (used on Monaco) set up also, didn't use the Z though since the Supra was so perfect.

A really stiff suspension isn't good for Sport Softs since they have so little grip. I never really go lower than -10 on ride height. I've found my R32 GT-R to be an exception since it can really put the power down properly in any situation.

I'm stoked for rally night. Gonna bring out a few cars, RWD and AWD.

Just to clarify, I didnt mean to appear to point fingers. We have been having a lot of newbies popping in and out and should one of them win, I just wanted to get the sentiment out there. The lowest I keep my ride height is -4/-4 but for most races, especially with off-camber corners of any kind...I run even or as high as +4/+4

was using the CELICA XX 2800GT '81, but that was my only car for the night as i havent finish tuning up the other one, a CELICA 2000GT-FOUR (ST165) '86 although i dont know if you'll allow it.

i probably need at least 2-3 cars to match the tracks that were running. I agree with you in Mt. Aso as well as in Trial Mountain, it handled the bank turns well and was driving pretty good while others were spunning around, but boy it was a handfull to drive in tracks were hairpins are nasty like CoteDAzur. ill probably keep it and tune it up some more. a little bit help in turn in is all i need. This was my first online race with you guys, i wanna race clean and avoiding to punt someone was also in the equation. my LSD was badly tune too. :)

ill put it online tonight and let you guys check my settings.

I agree with switching cars if you win. Keeps it interesting.

I need to run some races in single player, I've burned up like 2.5 million working on cars for these 450 races lol

i would like to know your settings on your rx-7 chuyler.

mine was everywhere, but im still not practiced enough on sports soft tires. we raced for a while on racing tires and i have a lot of cars set up for that. rear wheel drive is tricky now. i think i have to go and buy lsds for all my cars.

and rotary freak, you just have to go and search for good 450pp cars. we have all been doing this for a while now, and have many cars available. i think i have 60, and all of them have upgraded everything. you need fully customized transmission, suspension, and i guess lsds now to compete. also, spoilers are pretty useless at this pp, and they are a waste of pp. these guys here are no joke. one mistake on a track and you are done.

with the racing tires i was able to compete with a few cars, but not anymore. plus, i need to learn more tracks. i was lost on sarthe, and i am the one who picked it. lol.

looking forward to rally night!

ps... i also agree with changing cars! i usually do every race. i like to keep things interesting.

I haven't had much luck with any of the older celicas. Their PP is very low to start gives them a slight handicap to start. I find cars that are close to 450pp in stock trim often work better than cars that are way off...but the 300zx should be fast if that were the case...but I just don't really like it.
