Grenade...about THAT corner...its just the line...you can do that with every car...👍

I watched the replay. You were airborne. I didn't realize flying was part of the line :)

I watched that gve-r altercation last night. Didnt have time to record it. I was along the outside of grenade until he hit me going wide. No issue there...but i was still along side as the track transitioned from a left turn to a mild right turn. Rather than give me room, grenade pushed into me and pit maneuvered himself.

It comes down to side by side track rights. Once a driver establishes sufficient overlap, both cars, not just the passing car have to leave room for side by side racing. Grenade could have easily gone a little wide on the right hander and left me space and we would have dragged to the final hairpin.

Looked too me like me rammed you off the road twice in a row, I slammed on the brakes and drifted past grenade and couldn't get it straightened, which caused me to slide into dabney and then into the wall. Oh well, it happens.

AOK raped Trial Mountain, but the Chevelle could stay just within drafting distance, then something happened too AOK, and I passed him. And I was just fast enough too hold off Nic.

pretty fun last night. Wish i could get more top-end out of the muscle cars to keep up. I could make up time in the corners but i got raped on the straights, which just seems wrong haha

i raped grand valley, i was flyin. trial mountain was so difficult with the stratos. too many ups and downs for that car, fast yes, but the oversteer of a mid engine is hard to handle:nervous:

my apologies to the civic driver on Nurb. I was waiting till no one was bebind me to exit and assumed I was far enough to the left of track for folks to get by.

No worries. I was trying to avoid chuyler who was sliding sideways in the grass on the right side, then when I looked back in front there was a green countach stopped on the road and it was too late to avoid you.

i have an idea for tomorrow: the zorro night
zorro.jpg

there ore lots of z in the game and with 450 i think even the oldest will be competitive, what do you think chuyler?

I like the Idea! There's plenty of Z to choose from...and they handle well out of the box.👍

I didn't realize flying was part of the line :)
As long as you follow the rules.."2 wheels on...over the track" :sly:

If you can't pass on either side...jump over 👍

That was more dukes of hazard then race car driving. But, you made it stick.

I watched three races of yours last night from your driving perspective to see if I could get some insight. I have some questions.

It looks to me like you almost slide through every turn and then extreme counter steer to get grip? Example. You have a turn that you can take at 60 mph. You point your front end towards the apex slide through the center, counter steer towards the end and it up straight against the side of the road at the end of the turn.

You almost never apex any turns as well. Is this a game physics problem, or is that just how you have always driven? You seem to defy the physics of the game as it looks like you are going to slide off the track, but your car always regains traction right at the edge of the track.

I am not sure if this is just the amazingness that is controller oversteer correction or what?

I watched the replay from all the angles. The first turn, I flat out didn't see you there. I ran my line and pushed you off a bit. You made a pass attempt on the outside when I was not expecting it.

Second one. You had your front quarter panel on my rear tires. But, from my 1st person perspective, it looked like you were clearly behind me and that's why I got upset when I moved to the outside and was hit. If you watch the race from the first person perspective of my screen, you will see in the rear view mirror, it definitely does not look like you have any overlap.

On another note. You mentioned sufficient overlap. Is the front quarter panel of one car against the rear quarter panel of another car considered sufficient overlap?

EDIT
Having watched these another 5-6 times. I am going to have to say the second one was definitely your fault. You have no overlap, you stuck your nose in my line (watch the first lap), you tapped my rear bumper which caused me to go towards you. Then, you continued to press forward and finished the job :)

1st Video: Chuyler1 3rd person view.
2nd Video: Grenades Line through said turn.
3rd Video: Chuyler1 hood view.
4th video: Grenade 1st person view.

I wanted to point out a few things. One that I ran the same line both times. In my first person view video, its obvious that you look well behind me in the rear view mirror. On the first contact, you had no overlap by my turn-out point and I went across the track like normal and then bumped you when you were front fender to my rear door. On the second contact, you had no overlap at all and when I ran my line you had your nose a bit too close and barely pit maneuvered me. The first contact I think we can both live with as it was completely accidental. But, there is no way you can claim you had sufficient overlap for the second one. I doubt you did it on purpose. I am not claiming that. But, claiming I pit maneuvered myself is a grave misnomer as well. I mean, you never even tapped your brakes. You just ran right through me.

Its easier to control/aim the front of the car when you slide a little...
car always regains traction right at the edge of the track.
Throttle management.
controller oversteer correction
I guess correction is way faster with a controller...
You almost never apex any turns as well
Really!Are You sure?

I tuned up (no test drives) a couple older Italian cars to 450pp for tonight. We'll see how it goes. :)

At least one race I'll have a go with the Lancia from the same make a couple weeks ago...its collecting dust

I see how it appears that i was behind you from your POV. My point was we were in a 2-wide configuration from the point of first contact. From that point on, i was beside you until i hit your quarter panel. Is the quarter panel hit sufficient overlap by itself? Absolutely not... But i already established sufficient overlap and wasnt planning on backing off. You didnt need to grab that inside line, it is entirely possible to use the rest of the track there without losing speed. I didnt lift off because i assumed you were going to continue straight to avoid turning in on me but you kept turning right in an effort to block the right side of the track...which is a perfectly good move had i not already been beside you.

i wont be on tonight. Someone else please post the room. The wife has me painting the counter tops to look like granite. $60 instead of $4,000... If it looks good, great...if not, well we will keep saving our pennies. Anything will be better than the blue laminate we have now.

While I do agree with you that I should have allowed more room then I did because we are all nice drivers. Having said that, I really did believe you were behind me, not beside me at that point. I didn't see you "beside me". So, I ran my line.

But, I was only pointing out that according to the OLR as I understand it, I wasn't at fault whatsoever. You definitely made contact when you should have backed off. That's all I was getting at.

Well on the ring, you basically never hit an apex outside of the jumped turn. lol. That was what I was mostly looking at. I checked the other races just to see if you were doing the same thing.

It's not just that correction is faster on the controller, its that you can create a full lock turn in the time it takes me to move about 15 degrees with the wheel. Then, you can release that full lock then full lock again 3-4 times per second. I used that method exclusively when I used to race with the controller. What I call bouncing back in forth to maintain traction. You go full lock, let go, full lock, let go, about 3-4 times per second to maintain traction. I am not sure if that's what you do or not. The only reason I do not use the controller today is because I just prefer feeling like I am really racing and the wheel has other advantages (long sweeping high speed turns).

Someone else host other then me. I don't have a car for tonight's theme and I must get one now. Thanks!

other advantages (long sweeping high speed turns).
Example daytona road course....In the mid section and the bus stop I'm playing with the D-pad but in the bank I switch to analog 👍

So whos hosting tonight? Saw Osprey lounge open....

looks like i will host.. my lobby is open. send fr if you want to get in.

If it were a full damage race i would have backed off much sooner. I could have passed you on the straight but i wanted to try something different since i actually had the power to pass on the outside. I'm beginning to think the game just doesnt give drivers enough visibility to pass on the outside though, whenever i try, even if i get a nose ahead, i always get pushed out.

Sorry guys, didnt check the schedule to see it was Italian night.

Horn blowing is distracting. The way I see it, I'm ahead of you, get over it and move on with racing. If you're going for the element of surprise, try winning.

I always accidentally hit the horn if I'm playing with a dpad. I dont have one mapped for me wheel though, which I use exclusively online.

Last race got real laggy the last lap.

People need to remap the horn button if you use the DS3. It gets annoying to hear honking on every turn as Diabolic stated.

hahaha, i wish i had a horn button on my wheel :(

I just found how to get the horn working on my G25. What wheel do you have?

i have to delete it as well, mine was mapped at L3 so everytime you hear a honk in tight corners or whenever i go wide that was me..... but that was a month ago.

last night "Italian Race" started as 1-make theme with everybody choosing the Alfa Romeo Brera as their weapon of choice. CAnt blame them, i myself find it easier to tune and drive plus its 4WD. Mine was smoking in acceleration with no wheelspin whatsoever, got a headstart on most race but i lost top end speed... same old story! :grumpy:

saved some replays but didnt get the chance to shoot some pics.... probably later, ill post it tomorrow. some clean racing last night.... 👍

Was going to join. Had like 7 cars ready. But, then my buddy was available for some uncharted3 beta.... so i went with that.
