6/20/12 - A-Spec: 530PP 4WD Challenge

To quote my brother when we were kids, "It's not cheating, it's using all available options that respectable people consider un-ethical."

Cutting corners here is not cheating. You are penalised in the Time Trial races for going off track, bumping, even being bumped, but these are not Time Trials.

These are for having fun and getting your lowest PP win.

Of course don't go off track if that's the only way you think the race should be run, but for most here it's about having fun and achieving their lowest PP win, and to do so requires some 'specialist' driving techniques.

Cheers mate.

Grinding and Racing are two different things. Heck, when that old Ferrari cash cow seasonal was up, I used to blast through chicanes and the AI to build up credits to buy expensive cars. Completely free of guilt too! Never fooled myself that I was racing or paid any attention to lap times. Got all the high roller cars though, heh!

These newer seasonals look pretty interesting-haven't done any yet. It's nice to see so much interest in offline racing. I do the offline racing now like a TT with penalties. No track cutting or hitting the AI unless it's a tap.

But really, why bother even mentioning a car or tune is quick when track cutting is envolved. Might as well make a nice step by step track cutting video so everyone can benefit. Hmmm, now there's an idea!

Answering your question (That it was asked to me first) about how low i can go without cheating, with that car I have only tried at 500pp and won with some secconds.

I havent tried lowering more without taking the chicannes because Money is what i need right now. If i wanted to have fun racing, i'd go online or call my friend to my house.....

Exactly. If i want to have fun, i'd rather invite my friends or go online with cars worth 20mil.

I am just not that impressed with the "lowest PP" when half of the track is being cut. So right, you can cut the corners without in-game penalty, but you'll get much more respect from the community if you actually make an effort to run the actual track.

Motor City Ham
can do it if they want, just don't come to the forums bragging about the low PP level achieved. "Oh, but I cut the track" just makes you look like an under achiever.

I don't think anyone is bragging about winning @ the lowest PP just to show off, these events are easily doable, what the guys are doing is try to replicate a way to get as much cash and lvl points as possible and the only way to do it is with the lowest PP car possible like the FF Challenge - Cape Ring Race 👍 reached lvl37 with that one on my 2nd account

Perfect response. Can You post your tune for FF Cape Ring? Please???? Thnx

Its not Penalised, but it IS cheating, bet next PDA or ASPECS will have penalties, PDA is pointless if you take very low PP (for a challenge) and then cut corners to win, no challenge there.

Have you even tried this challenge in a 395pp car? every cut has to be perfect and you still have to be able to block 8+ cars on every straight to be able to win, it has been the most fun and challenging thing that GT5 has offered up to this point for me, and my game is virtually complete. It is easy to take pretty much any 500 - 530pp car and run the tracks right and get the prize car, but you only get that car once, after that it's about money. With my Integrale, I'm making 1.5million CR a race, and it is an absolute blast at 395pp, corner cutting and everything.

I paid for my game and I can enjoy it anyway that I like, I neither ask nor care if I have any respect from a bunch of people that I don't know, I clean race online, and I try my best to make the game a challenge. These forums are a place to gain knowledge about the game and a decent place to find people to race/trade with online, however I don't judge people for how they play game in the comfort of their own homes; and quite frankly wouldn't want the respect of anyone who does.

Might as well make a nice step by step track cutting video so everyone can benefit. Hmmm, now there's an idea!

I'll put one up as soon as I get home this weekend.

What PP level can you win at without cheating?

I managed 450pp, with a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, netting 1'083'668 Cr. and 124'301 XP, a great little car (with the right tune).

I have had much more fun with close racing and exchanging positions on all the straights, than perfecting the trips though the gravel :)

Applause for you. Way to go. I'm about 3 seconds short right now with 475PP in a Subaru with a Roj tune on it.

475 might be possible, but it would have ot be a perfect race, I think, can't lose time at the beginning.

Still, 800,000+ is a good payout.

PP in the pic is @ 274, you can downgrade (?) to that number when the lead car is a Fiat, other than that, I never could do it, but @ 280PP you get +2m Cr and 200k Points, really good :D

Wow 395 is fu$%ing effing low!!! I´m having trouble blocking at 440pp with an Audi S4 ´03.

I have stoped using my Nissan GTR Academy Special because i couldnt get it to have a low pp as the Audi.

What car and tune are you using? Sorry If you have answered it before.

Please guys, stop the self harming in GT5.

Cutting yourself is bad; chicanes and corners need to have respect.

On a serious note. are there any grids without the Impreza Type C on pole?

I went through 11 cars before detuning the Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12 down to 528 and then won all 5 on the second try.

The GT-R is the complete package. A work of art and very predictable handling. This is my new favorite along with the racing version.

430PP Impreza on La Sarthe... over 1M credits per race already and I'm only on the 130% bonus. :)

Kind of late updating the OP. Sorry guys.

I think there are a number of FITT tuners who would post 4wd tunes for this. Would you prefer that we post FITT tunes here or make our own thread just for tunes? Will the OP keep up a list of links to posted tunes?

Just some suggestions.

I am running the Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione '91, my tune is on a previous post in this thread.

If anyone fancies a challenge, they should try the Audi Pikes Peak Quattro. PP is 512 but it weighs in at 2 tonnes. It's fast and it's a real pig to drive; so unstable under braking, so heavy you can't outbreak the AI, it lurches from over- to understeer if you try and slide it though a corner. Horrible, but compelling.

I've managed second on Laguna and GV: could have won Laguna with more care but I lost a lot time in the GV technical sections.

I've won at Cape Ring with the Ford RS200 '84 dumbed down to 410pp. I've found that if you wait for the Lancer Evo V to be on pole your chances are greatly improved as it rarely cracks the 9:30 barrier. If no other AI car passes it then that's the best grid I've seen so far.

I've really only given this a quick go and am certain to reach my goal of breaking the 400pp barrier once I become climatized and understand the car better. I have yet to try an Evo myself now that I think about it.

Payout - 410pp = 1,227,760cr.

I'm always up for an unusual challenge. Straight off the forecourt at 504PP beat the Spec C by 1s at Cape Ring, fairly cleanly. I can't say it's a particularly enjoyable drive but it is much faster than it seems. It's so uninvolving to drive you seem to be going really slowly until you notice the cars in front are getting nearer rather than further away. Shan't be adding that one to my favourites but any more daft suggestions gratefully received.

Pretty sure they adjusted the PP difference bonus with the latest release. I was getting over 1M yesterday for 440PP, but now I'm getting slightly less even with an increase in my daily login bonus.

A detuned Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 and all the transmission upgrades, the 6-speed full customization transmission, fully adjustable suspension and sport soft tires and I had no problem...

I think what got me was traction control. I turned it down to 1. Seemed like my car did better that way.

People said they were able to beat it with the 22B STI, and Evos and stuff... Maybe I'm just a terrible driver cause I couldn't do it with those.

What would be the best 530PP/Less AWD in every of your opinion, guys? I'd like to rack up credits fast before the Audi R8 LMS's get changed!!

Thanks. :)

Hey, i just want to ask..is anyone cutting the last chicanes at le sarthe?
i always do. call me cheap, but since they removed the sand which was there in the 2005 version of La Sarthe,i always cut through. However, when i play multi-player,i NEVER do so...i try to be fair with players

The "Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B-STI Version '98" wins easily at Sarthe at 448pp netting 1,091,000 per nine minutes.
Sarthe 22B@430pp = 1,229,070
Sarthe 22B@420pp = 1,305,597 won by 9.5 seconds.

"Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evolutione '91" tuned to 397pp win @ Sarthe = 1,489,040 credits

Also if you just want to get the escudo swiftly tune the Aventador down to 529pp and it will easily win every race.

I tested all these, and they blasted the competition!!! thanks for the idea! ^^ (my apologies for the double post,i just felt the need to affirm myself,as i'm VERY talkative!:dopey: )

I ran this a few times, and I found that the most annoying race is Cape Ring, especially if the MNP GT-R R34 is on pole.

Couldn't do it in the Lancia against it, was only able to win that one with the SpecV Academy detuned to 520 PP.
