'Doesn't play well with others'. And you boast that you put it there yourself. Guess you've heard it said about yourself many times.

Ever wondered why?

Anyway, that's enough of this little tete a tete, I think we've covered all the bases and will have to agree not to agree with each others view.

If you ever attempt to beat my lowest PP at Tsukuba using SRF, or even not using it, let us know, I'm sure we'll all be interested in the result. but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that. Ha ha.

However, as a show of good faith, a peace offering if you like, I will see how far I can go without SRF, and I will post the result, although I know it will not be a pretty sight.

OK, 2nd try at Tsukuba without SRF. Won at 540PP, 352hp, 1100kg, 71.4% power, best lap 55.8, total time 9:25.912.

Rest of the laps were at 56 or 57 sec's. Won by .6 sec over the same Nismo GTR 08.

I found I couldn't rely on the fabulous 1st gear one uses with SRF as it's too hard controlling it with buttons without, so went up to 2nd instead, slower out of corners but more stable. FYI, $1,830,400......exp 205,040.

Will try at 530PP.

Won at 530PP with no SRF or TC or anything except ABS1, same as with 540PP.
3rd in lap 7, 2nd in lap 8 and overtook the GTR on the r/h corner before the last straight in lap 10.

530PP is 326hp... 66.2% power. Best lap 55.4, the rest were in the 56 range, total time 9:25.724.
FYI $1,996,800 exp 223,680.

I thought I'd share a low pp run at Laguna (321hp, 1238kg, 520pp), good car for doing this... the others I ran with a stock HSV (plus my body weight, all driver aids off, ABS=0, about 575pp), easy enough to win in one or two tries. So glad they finally put out a refurbished version of this event that has the bonuses :)

I assume this is without SRF... correct?

Correct. So far at 530PP, when you posted the above.

Tried a few times @ 524PP (312hp 63.3 power) but the only lap I completed I came in 2nd.

Far too many distractions with the boys in the house. Maybe later. I did notice I am leaving a lot of rubber on the corners as I get used to coming out in 1st gear whereas the other cars aren't.

Hi, I'm liking the idea of adding your body weight. Just out of interest where do you position your body weight? Obviously you cant add it all the way to the back or front, I would assume this is then giving an advantage as opposed to trying to make it more realistic?

however this 'kid' in particular is an aged pensioner, sonny.

Be more specific. I'm 52.9 (without SRF....I could probably manage a good 35-ish with) but I'm neither aged nor a pensioner.

On the occasion of this seasonal I have a question about Honda's Weider. It seems that the car is a favourite among GTP subscribers and online players. Since I have not downloaded it yet (I prefer to download packs and not individual cars) and have not tested it, is it really so good? I was trying to race in Spa (which is a track I do not know, admittedly), all the others were running HSVs like it was a one-make race. I was running a GTR and I could not keep up with anybody. Am I too old for this s...:ouch:or is the car so fast?

You certainly have a way with words Sir Alan.

I was of course talking to Adrenaline, and referring to myself.

I am 65.6 this month, 6 months into my aged pension, although I am also the single parent of my last two boys aged 8 and 10.

Oh if I could turn on SRF again, probably just get into trouble though if I did.

And Geopan, I doubt you're too old for 'this'. Many here, like myself, find the Weider a very good drive. I reckon it's better than the others but I'd read more about how others feel about it before closing the book on the best Super GT car if I were you.
Naturally the best move for you is obtain it and try it, there are some excellent tunes here too. Good luck with it.

Will he shut up about getting the lowest PP now (using SRF)?

And I'm glad someone proved him wrong. He has too many strange opinions about this game and is only alienating himself from the respected people of this site. Like you and Cargorat.

E.G. Saying that using a wheel is the same as using SRF/ASM/TC etc. is one in particular. And I take offence to that, big time.

Will do. Thanks

I should have mentioned it, but my views on SRF are rather clear, so you can rest assured my victory above was without SRF.

To further clarify, my initial post was not an attempt to show off, I was simply including lap times as proof of what the car/tune was capable of, in regards to the gentleman who was having issues. I explained that lowering the PP, actually helps make the car more controllable for those having issues, explained where to find the tune, and what lap times he needed to target, to achieve victory.

The above post, is still not an attempt to brag, because I know exactly where I stand when it comes to skill level among these forums, and I guarantee you, I am not among, nor anywhere near, the best of them, and I have no issues with admitting that publicly.

I didn't think you were bragging at all. I just meant he was bragging even after stating he used SRF.

Spare me mate with your superior attitude. But in your haste to gloat you are wrong on a number of accounts.

I never stated, "a wheel is the same as using SRF/ASM/TC etc". Please post where I said that, otherwise I await your apology, that is if you are man enough to admit you got that wrong.

I have said that wheel users have an advantage over controller users, especially those like me who learned only using the X button for accelerator.

And if you think that is incorrect explain why the vast majority of top players in the TT's use one.

Secondly, I never said that no one could beat my time without using SRF. I suggested that it might be required, but that is a far cry from categorically stating that it cannot be done without it, as you have claimed I said.
I'll await an apology for that also.

As for losing the respect of, "the respected people of this site". Good grief mate, is there a fan club here? Do people only post if they know they will be agreed with?

I have an opinion and I posted it, get over it. I have.

And I most definitely would like to view Adrenalin's win at 510PP please.
And congratulations on that. I will have to try harder, a damn side harder, thanks for the challenge.

And Iainoflo, your last post. Crikey. No more needs to be said.

Sure thing:
But if you can't better my PP and win here that doesn't make you a better racer here, regardless of what aids (and there are many including but not exhaustive of; using a wheel, only racing when there is a weaker line up, using SRF, TC etc,) you choose to use or not use.

Here you classify using a wheel as an "aid". I'm only stating what you posted before so no apology necessary. Was simply stating my stance and I got nothing wrong.

I have said that wheel users have an advantage over controller users, especially those like me who learned only using the X button for accelerator.

Actually, after polls conducted on this site, it's been proven that "the vast majority of players" do not use wheels in TT's and that a lot of the top 10 times are mixed with both DS3 users and Wheel users. Therefore this is not a valid point and another general assumption.

Secondly, I never said that no one could beat my time without using SRF. I suggested that it might be required, but that is a far cry from categorically stating that it cannot be done without it, as you have claimed I said.

I never said that you "categorically" stated it could not be done without SRF. This is what you said

I reduced it drastically, to 510PP, and still won. And as far as I know no one else has bettered that.

Sounds like bragging to me. (Again just an opinion - not going to apologise for it.)

And this is what I said:
Will he shut up about getting the lowest PP now (using SRF)?

and this

I just meant he was bragging even after stating he used SRF.

So where do I say "it could not be done without SRF"?

I have looked through the whole thread, and I don't know where you think I said that.

Sorry Ianflo, trying Adrenaline's race now, might correct you tomorrow.

Started at 540PP again, with the Yellowhat GTR on pole, same as Adrenaline, killed them.

My only change to the Weider was to up the weight to Adren's 1170kg.

Now for 530PP.

Won @ 530PP, 341hp, pw 69.3%, best lap 55.4, total time 9:23.307.

Now for 520PP, which will be a huge challenge but it's 11:30 pm here in Darwin NT so I will probably have to wait till tomorrow to have a fair go at it.

I hope Adrenaline has posted his 510PP replay by then, looking forward to seeing it.

Correct - I leave the ballast in the middle, no position adjustments. It's a fun way to make it a little more challenging, and also it motivates me to get more fit so I can lower the amount I add :) I've shaved a kg since I started doing it, hoping to trim a few more by summer.

That's what I do too to make it more interesting. I use bone stock cars mainly to compare different cars to each other. Started driving in cockpit view with no hud and love it. Great to drive with an uncluttered screen. All the premium GT500's have great cockpit views. No aids including abs unless a wheel is considered an aid, lol.

Credits are so easy to come by that having to get a win isn't that important to me. Rather try and run the race without going off track, wrecking or hitting the AI. That just makes me work harder and hopefully improve my car control and makes a win that much more satisfying.

mr LH, will you please make your own garage? i have some requests (as do some others probably).

also there is a HUGE diffeence between using a wheel or a ds3. im not saying its srf big, but its pretty damn close. balancing the throttle when exeting a corner re a cakewalk on a wheel and pedals, without any training at all. doing the same on a ds3 is a challenge every time, unless you have invested a ridiculous amount of time in learning your triggers or analog, depending on whichever one you use. and even then, its FAR more difficult on pad. theres no arguing about this fact, it is what it is.

First and foremost, iainoflo85, my post was not 'directed at' you, I apologize if it appeared that way, I was speaking in general terms, you were just the person I quoted, to initially clarify SRF was not used. 👍

To all You people who brag about how low You can go on pp....The truth is that the lower the pp, the easier it is to control Your car without spinning out etc....But of course, at a certain point Your car becomes TOO slow to win....But if You want to go low, some NSX-R is the best choise...

Sorry, I was looking for the forum on the 600 PP GT seasonal and inadvertently stumbled upon this pub fight.

Anyhow thanks to Mr. Lewis Hamilton for his weider tune. Of the several published tunes for this car, his worked best (matched best) for my driving style. It made a huge difference for me, and allowed me to win all of the seasonal events except the eifel, which I will take a few more runs at today.

On the sim/game, cheats issue, may I proffer that with the exception of the new year's weather change races, this game is geared (pun intended) for a great degree of personalization. Turn whatever aid on or off that you personally prefer and enjoy the game/simulation. For me it is definitely a sim as health (vision, vertigo) have caused me to lose driving privileges. Am I cheating because I turn on the driving line so that I can see where the track is headed especially on shadow riddled tracks like Tokyo? Am I cheating for using a wheel because after 31 years of driving privileges, I miss the feel of turning a steering wheel? Or am I enjoying a game which allows me to "experience" something I no longer can?

My point is that getting through these seasonal races is a personal experience which is dictated by personal needs and preferences. I always assumed that the measure your D*%#$ section was time trials where each driver was bound by the same constraints. Sure some of you are faster/better than others, and I am sorry that your mothers held back on affirmation when you were young, so you have to seek constant pats on the back now, but please let the rest of us enjoy this game and be entertained by a hobby we all clearly enjoy and are invested in.

Thanks again Lewis for your help. I will seek out other tunes you choose to post eagerly.

For those that don't wish to download and alter PS3 replay files:

YouTube: Tsukuba GT500 Seasonal

Link to the tune is in the description.

Thanks for that, I was totally unable earlier today to open the zip file your race was on. Even downloaded Google Drive to access it, all to no avail, can never open zip files.

Haven't had a chance to try GT5 so far today but am keen to get behind the wheel again.
