My entry:

Subaru WRX STi Sedan version VI: 29,190

Weight Reduction, Stage 1: 1,200

Weight Reduction, Stage 2: 5,500

Sports Brakes: 4,700

Semi-Racing Suspension: 7,400

T2 Tires: 10,500

Oil Change: 250

Grand Total: 58,740

new time, still a 31.8 t1 :irked: but a 1'15.6 t2 :D If i could only get those T1's down i wonder what kinda t2's i could get. 31.8 seems to be the norm tho, occasionally i'll get a 31.7, and i saw one 31.5 once, but havent been down that low since. at least i was able to make good on my 1'15.6 being possible comment. hehe

::EDIT:: well i made some last minute changes to my configuration in the pits. i sacrificed my suspension for more power, downgrading my semi-race suspension to a sport, and upgrading to a race exhaust over stock, which gave me 50 more hp, shes definently a LOT harder to control now, but the extra power makes up what it lacks in grip. haha. new best save now has a 31.5/1'15.3, and this was on SLOPPY lap, especially right before the train tracks and damn near slid all the way across the road and into the wall (didnt tho) im surprised my t2 was that low, i shudder to think what it wouldve been if i had actually taken that turn properly. i think if had to drive this car the way its setup now in real life, i wouldnt be able to get in that seat w/ out wearing some type of Depends or adult diaper. cuz driving this thing would scare the **** out of me in real life. haha

sure, it costs $31,150 ;)

i probably wont get time to work on this more before the deadline, i tried out another configuration earlier where i ditched my twin plate clutch, put a semi racing flywheel in, instead of racing, used sport suspension, kept the exhaust stock, and used an NA stage 2 instead of 1, it gave me another 20hp over my previous set up, that was REAL tricky to drive, but i had a lap w/ a 31.3/1'14.8, tho i messed it up of course. I did see a 31.1 also. but right now my 31.5/1'15.3 will have to stand

I just barely saw this post today and had to work so i didnt get a chance to run it, maybe another one with a drivetrain restriction or somthing like fastest FF for 40K onlaguna seca or somthing.

i wouldnt mind making this a regular thing, people seemed to have fun with this

i just pm'ed tofu my time because im probably gonna be playing halo or quake when the deadline rolls around. hehe. I guess i'll let the cat out of the bag for those who dont know, I was using.....the camaros arch nemesis, the Mustang SVT Cobra R. The budget drag racer desperatly trying to be a budget street racer. haha

The car was, as i stated 31,150, leaving me with 28,850 for mods. I modded it as follows

Oil change - 250
sport suspension - 3200
sports brakes - 4700
race exhaust - 4800
stage 1 NA - 4900
twin plate clutch - 2700
race flywheel - 1050
sports tires - 6000
stage 1 weight reduction - 1200

Leaving me w/ exactly 50 dollars (for that car wash when this is all over, hehe)

i only drove the car about 100 miles and i think its still breaking in, but at the time of my lap i was running 500HP w/ a a p/w ratio of 3.028 :trouble: 500hp on sports tires w/ no tcs, yikes  hehe

the last setup i tried where i got rid of my race exhaust, twin plate clutch and went to a semi race flywheel so i could buy the NA stage 2 gave me 520HP. I coulda pulled a good time out w/ this if i had the time, but the car gets hard to control at that point. haha. I just wanted to keep the stock exhaust on that think cuz i think it sounds so sweet...the supercharger whine overpowers the exhaust (as it should) that race exhaust on this thing sounds crappy. semi-race even crappier, didnt try the sports. All in all i definently had fun w/ this. This spot race actually kept me away from the weekly race this week. haha. but i wasnt too fond of this weeks race anyways. Good luck to all, cant wait to see these results!

Alrighty I think its close enough to time to share times...... this isnt a super big deal or anything so feel free to post your times anytime soon or whenever really......

And well unless anybody pulled off a very very quick lap some how I think IDAFC is gonna be proclaimed the best cheap bastard:p JK man really nice time. Looks like the Mustang may be the beefier of the two.

Tofu's time: 1'40.014
IDAFC's time: 1'35.984
RisingSon77's time: 1'47.406

Just post up your time's here in the thread or PM me whichever.

hehe, i pulled a 1'35.7 in my 520hp setup , but it wasnt clean, i think if i worked on it at LEAST a mid 1'35 would be possible. this was quite fun :D

Alrighty looks like we got all the times in from anyone who's doin this......

If you'd like to see the next idea for the spot race..... Im gonna start the thread here in a minute and label it 280hp Kings.

Wow, I shoulda bought a Mustang. Nice time, IDAFC. 👍

What does your name stand for, anyway? :odd:

just kind of an abbreviation of my AIM name. IdriveAfastCar21 :D

Well, that is what I was figuring there, I pulled a 1'40.346 with my Evolution, but man it took about 50 laps to get it clean. Sorry I didn't have the results up last night in time, but I got a little sick. I just wanted to post it even though I get the big DNF :D -> I have an update. . . I knew my time was not the right one, but I lost the replay in my memory card which I have not had plugged in in two days. The Evolution actually gave a 1'38.661 . Sorry for that incorrect post. I'll still take the DNF though :(

My life got in the way of putting up a time.
My fastest was with a Lancer EVO 7 with a lap of
1'40.015.
I was only really in the testing phase, and ran but 5 laps in several cars.
I could see the EVO coming down with a bit more tweakage, and some more seat time.

I have to say the same thing about your times in the Z-28.
I found it to be very hard to reign in. It was shakin' its a$$ like Shakira.
I think that the RX-7 Has some serious potential also. At 75Kcr, I could have had the adjustable transmission and I would have been able to kick some asphalt.

Thats what I like about this comp though....... we made it more man than machine......not to much adjusting...... especially without full suspension.

I like the Budget cap rules, maybe we should make a 70K shoot-out between manufactures next time.
IE -> Mitsubishi versus Subaru or Honda versus Toyota something like that.

Nice idea miata....... will keep that in mind. *chuckles sinisterly*

Maybe a Mini versus some other car deal :D

Only if I can used my Hybrided Miata that I made out of my late miata .

I like the sim tires, don't get me wrong. I was just surprised to see how tempermantal the NSX could be. First it wouldn't stop plowing, then it wouldn't stop oversteering. You can't brake too early with this thing. :D
