787 vs 908 FAP?

Both cars are uber quick, but the 787b requires a bit more finesse if you are using the DS3.

It comes down to the driver really.

Get the 787. I think it's possibly the best premium model in the game and I'm saving for it at the moment. The sound alone is worth the 5m credits

The 908 is the faster car. The 787 is more interesting to drive, sounds better and looks better inside, but when it boils down to lap times, the 908 is the fastest car aside from the FGT, F1 cars and X2010.

Everybody else seems to be of the opinion that the 908 is easier to drive.

I have to say though, that I find it to be the complete opposite. The 787 isn't THAT fast when you're in a world of FGT's, X1's, Minolta's, and the lot, but it's just a dream to drive.

The 908 on the other hand, while very good, has so much torque that the wheels will spin out like crazy for a DS3 user. That's my experience anyways.

The 787 is more of a collector item. The startup and idle sound are amazing, and it's blistering quick. But the 908 is faster and easier to control. It's really up to what you want.

Um Sorry this made me LOL, are you seriously saying the 787 is slower than the minolta? Furthermore are you holding the minolta in the same category as you would the FGT's & X1's?

I think the 787 is definitely slower in a straight line than the Minolta. It has about 200hp less and weighs around the same. How it handles is (in my opinion) unsurpassed however, so I'd take the 787 over the Minolta.

And I would put the Minolta in the same category as the X1/FGT when talking about "the best cars in the game."

Of course it would go X1 > FGT > Minolta if we were talking about those three specifically. I'd call them all top-tier cars, although the X1 and FGT are (obviously) faster by a pretty wide margin. The elite-of-the-elite if you will.

908 is faster on the straits but the 787b is easier to drive. (With sixaxis/DS3)

I have both, and they are both nice. The 908 is more powerful and 1.2mil less expensive, and better looking and is called FAP!! :dopey:
Seriously, if I had to sell one, it would be the 787b and that is no rap on the car, it's great.

I have the 787B Stealth model and although it's not my favourite car in that class, it is great to drive. I bought the 908 FAP a couple of days ago and haven't really enjoyed it as much, but that could be just me. Also, I'm not sure what differences there are between the 'normal' 787B and the Stealth model.

I've got the FAP & the stealth 787 and I'd take the FAP every time. I think it's a far better steer. It's also almost identical to my car in RL - it's a diesel!

I suspect the 787 is atleast as fast as the 908 although I havent yet driven both. I bought a 908 because it was newer (2010) versus the old 787 from 1991 or whatever. But the 787 certainly looks cool.

I think the 787 's stock setup oversteers to much but its fast with a little tuning . The 908 is a beast . It has so much torque and loads of power . I like the long powerband . You can gear it high and still be fast on the smaller tracks . Plus the 908 is cheaper . I ended up getting the 908 1st then saved up for the 787 . They both are great cars but IMO the 908 is a little faster and little more forgiving when racing . :)Happy racing

Sound on startup yes, gameplay sound not so much.

This is absolutely true and was quite disapointing actually. I could select the 787 all day in my garage just to hear that start up sound 👍. However, in game it sounds horrible to me. I have 5.5 million lying around.... maybe i should try the Pug as well.....

Off topic: What's the meaning of the pieces of paper on the 787's dashboard? I can tell is something related to fuel consumption and laptime, but where? That laptime surely is not on La Sarte.
