Need a good race car, not sure which one to get. I know that the stealth has more power, but maybe it doesn't have as many purchasable upgrades? Need help. Also if you know of any better cars could you let me know, thanks :) :gtplanet:

The 787B is a great choice. It can be used at 700PP+ for the LMP races in S and iA and it can also happily compete at 650PP for all the other races in S where it's eligible. It's cheaper than buying two cars when this one can do the job of two cars easily.

There is other cars at that price range, but I like the 787 because of the sound and it's flexibility. If I just wanted a Le Mans car that stayed at 700+ PP then it would be the Sauber.

This type of car can only have turbo upgrades, so you should get more power from the stealth model. The 787 is one of the best LMPs, better handling than most of the others and sounds great too. Sauber Mercedes C9 and Jag XJR9 are really good too, Audi R18 and R10 are the slowest so I would avoid those. Suzuki Escudo is the fastest car under 750pp on most tracks but it is very hard to set up.

So the stealth model of a particular car has a little more horse power and it keeps that edge over the non-stealth identical car?

Any other improvements on the stealth models that can't be upgraded on a standard car to match them?

The Audi R10 stealth is 50kg lighter than stock, as you can't do weight reduction on the stock car this is a permanent advantage 👍

It's still an R10 :D

So the stealth cars are also lighter. Is that true for all stealth models or just some of the cars?

I think I have the Shelby Cobra Stealth that I haven't touched yet. I might have one other.

Its an even better R10 👍

The 787B stealth isn't lighter but it does have the power boost, apart from that one I think all the stealth cars are a bit lighter.

There isn't a Cobra stealth is there? I know there's a chrome line version.

Ahh, that's it. Chromeline 427, not stealth. So what's the difference with the Chromeline models other than colors?

Actually the R10 is the highest powered LMP when fitted with the stage 3 turbo @Leggy1 so don't say the R10 is slow, it's not.
If you want a bonkers figure for the R10, try the stage 2 turbo. The torque it makes is completely bonkers.

I might try it with stage 2 then, and I find Its not as fast as most of the LMPs as the cornering speed isn't great. Group Cs are the best IMO.

Just a tad more power and chrome stripes, I don't think there's any other upgrades.

No, this is inaccurate. Please explain what you mean by the "slowest"? Compared to what exactly? What parameters are you using to deem these two cars, specifically, the "slowest"... im curious?.

Track lap times, compared to other cars of this type.

Stealth, best handling Group C once you tame it. I would recommend a little ballast to be able to make it 50:50 weight distribution. I used the original in the CORE Group C Championship to take the championship, so I think am qualified to say its a good car! Stealth is the same but prettier and a bit more grunt is always a laugh

wait wait, for the 787B Stealth (which I owned in GT5 :) ) isn't that horsepower increase only due to it coming with a turbo stock? If not, the oil change alone adds 150BHP to the regular 787B anyway. Don't they both have the same maximum power when fully tuned? In GT6 I have only the regular 787B (I LOVE the paint) and the specs are 9XXBHP, 9XXkg, 7XXPP (I'll edit in the numbers in just a moment)
Also, the 908 will crush the R10, I prefer the Stage 3 turbo to the Stage 2 though, as the powerband is much simpler and doesn't need a very specific tune to handle it.

i love the 787B ... stock

drives like a dream ...

I don't get why you would want to upgrade the specs ... get used to it .. and win races ...

Leggy, with all due respect, I challenge you to an LMP duel with all of the LMP in your arsenal vs. my R18 (non-anniversary edition) and R10 (standard non-stealth version) in hot laps around Sarthe.

We will set all regs (weight and hp) to the exact same and yes I do realise that some cars like the 908's and Team Oreca Audi Playstation R8 have higher kilo values (930kilo and 950 kilo) respectively. Let's put it to the test and let me show you what these cars are capable of.....truly. My PSN name is to the left. If you are able to beat my times I will gladly eat crow and give you all the vindication due your way in this thread. Deal? :gtplanet:

Alright then, sounds like a good idea

I bought the R18 prototype. It is a very fast and fun car to drive. I am very surprised to see someone call this car slow. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the R18 prototype and stock model? I know the stealth models differ slightly.

The '11 Prototype "feels" a little more planted on the track to me but it could just be my setup. I love the Team Joest Works model and the Prototype both, but to me the Proto feels a little stickier. Of course I could be totally wrong on that as I haven't done empirical testing with these cars at the same settings with hot laps.
