Its only 11 PM here, I'll hang around for a bit, kind of want to see the sunrise. I'll pick up the finish later into the morning.

Only 8 here and i'm staying up all night!

You know what's weird? The aco made all these rules to stop the cars from flying and yet it somersaulted! They won't be happy about that. More rule changes to come for sure

Only 10 mins until happy hour, I'm ready not going to miss any of it.

I wake up to find the Toyota that was leading out :nervous:, great end of school present.

I only now found out that the #97 Aston was in the race!!!! I thought it had retired hours ago! Now that I see the standings, it was #99. I hope the problem on #97 isn't bad, so Adrian Fernandez can go on in the race.

Scalage

I actually don't see how those open front wheels are good for aerodynamics but I'm no expert.

The sky is beginning to lighten up.

some Porsche is now out

The cavities above the wheels are to stop the air from clogging up and creating a huge high pressure area flipping the car. The dorsal fin is to create a large high pressure area above the car in case of a spin. There are also some things underneath but I don't have the details on that.

All of the Audi guys congratulating Dindo for his birthday :P

24 Heures du Mans 2012 - Highlights 1

Good start for Toyota. Seeing that Allan Mcnish overtakes the no.8 Toyota TS030 after the dunlop chicanes.

i know there is probably more to it ..but in my head..at this time in the morning

that wing makes things worse when your sidewase, you get higher pressure on one side then the other...and slight lift from the car and that will help it to flip..wouldnt it?

SPEED is showing an onboard with Oli Gavin with commentary, obviously it's pre-recorded but still pretty neat.

Everyone have faith in Flying Lizard Motorsports!
COMEBACK!

No you get a large stagnant area above the car, that's the key. This does create a moment flipping the car, but there's a much larger moment underneath the car trying to flip it exactly to the other way. So it balances it out. Watch the 2008 monza crash on youtube. If the car had such a fin it wouldn't probably have flipped so extreme.

And from at least a year ago as the Playstation/Gran Turismo 5 sponsorship was still up at Tertre Rouge and the Playstation Chicane.

Nice ride wasn't it? Seemed a little slow, was that because it was wet or just so he could comment?

You can't comment while being on a race lap, not even Mr. Gavin :P

I don't think that lap was full pace, his gear shifts were to quick and close together.
Seemed like he was driving slow.

It was an outlap. Cold tires and a slick track last year. He got on it for the start of the next lap though.

Damn! I really, really, really, REALLY want one of those Audi safety cars in GT5.

I'm I weird?
