With the DeltaWing being experimental, do the rules not apply for it in terms of driver being 50 meters from the car would deem it out of the race?

"Rules" is too general.
Think of "race rules" and "technical regulations". The DeltaWing must comply with the same "race rules" as everyone else - flags mean the same thing, pit lane restrictions are the same, etc etc.
So yes the same rule applies to it. Or they should do in my opinion.

Rule is 10 meters btw

Supposedly other teams helped out to get the DW back on track. Sportsmanship:tup:

Are you serious??? Oh, god, that'd be soooo epic!!! I wish they showed that on Eurosport.

That's the kind of stuff that restores my faith in humanity 👍. See HKS Racer? Not everybody thinks the Deltawing is crap.

That's why I'm confused that the DeltaWing will apparently be back on track shortly.

What do you guys think would have happened if Toyota had a few more cars on the track?

Toyota got some bad luck. If #8 never got crashed into I really think they would be leading right now. The car definitely has some potential and I'd love to see it back in the future.

BTW: Alexander Wurtz has got into #7.

That's why **** happens, because LM series don't specify a crap. If that's the official "rule" it basically means nothing. "hey I'm blue flaggin you, a faster car is coming, do what ever you want". LOL. I bet they don't even make briefing about how to handle chaotic situations. There's clearly a problem with LM organization. Anthony Davidson risked his life today and last year other drivers.
Oh, please. Given how many cars are out on the track at any given time and how long the race is lasting, I'd actually say that the average amount of crashes per hour seems actually lower in LM racing than it is in F1.

But, yes, as others have pointed out, it is indeed the faster car's duty to move away from the racing line and overtook, as opposed to what's done in F1. It's hardly suprising that rules are different, though, as there are not multiple classes racing at the same time in Formula races.

They're saying (On SPEED) that the DeltaWing is out of the race. Not coming back. :grumpy:

It's weird because on EuroSport they said that multiple garages were working on it.

Jordan Tresson just gave the wheel of the Signatech Nissan to franck Mailleux.
Great stint for the GT Academy graduates !
7th in LMP2.

I'd recon they'd still be fighting head to head with Audi and we'd all be going "HUZZAHHHHHHHHHHHH Z0MFG LOOK AT THAT OVERTAKE!!!! Who'll come out of the pits first? SO EXCITING!!!". And in the morning we'd see a blistering pace from either Tom Kristensen or Benoit Treluyer that would net Audi the win in an epic fashion.

Someone has rolled to a stop somewhere, no idea where or who it is.

Its slightly orange.

Oh! A bit of tyre barrier reconstruction is required somewhere!

For the third time.

It is the responsibility of the driver of the faster car to pass the slower car.

It is the responsibility of the driver of the slower car to stay on the racing line so that there can be no confusion over what a slower car will do when a faster car catches up to it.

What is difficult to understand about this perfectly logical rule that has existed for as long as there have been warning flags?
