It's really crazy to me that neither Toyota or Porsche brought a 3rd car, mainly Toyota.

What actually happened to the 908 hybrid after Peugeot stepped down? Were they just put in a museum somewhere, never having raced?

Maybe it has something to do with cost? I imagine the cost of building and running a hybrid car is more expensive than the "normal" Prototypes of 2011 and earlier.

I think they just sit in a warehouse somewhere, gathering dust. The HYbrid4 was beautiful.

This year's Toyotas seem like reincarnated Peugeot 908's, but with reliability added.
Amazing speed, sound and design.
I don't know, I don't see it...

Don't tempt fate. The Peugeots lasted more than seven hours in 2010.

Didn't the second Peugeot finish just 17 seconds or so after the 1st place Audi in 2010?
Nothing shall stop Toyota this year. I shall personally stop fate if it tries anything.

PLEASE do not jinx.

That was 2011. When the R18 was the faster car actually (but 2 of them exploded)

The 908s of 2010 lunched their turbochargers.
The TS040s have no such thing.

Back from Ingolstadt, they had a special event there for this race, both the R18 (2013) and the R8R from 1999 where displayed and you could watch the race at the bistro. Very nice, I had never seen a LMP car in person and afterwards was alot more impressed by it then F1 cars I saw so far.
(Oh and the Audi museum which was near by is also a nice place to visit)

That was 2011. In '10 all four Peugeots blew up or broke a tub.

At least when they retired they went out in style.

At least for the #2 and #4 car anyway.

Those flames are HU-GE!!!! :gtpflag:

Are you guys listening to the official audio or Radio Le Mans?

Sadly, my internet is only enough for one stream so I'm listening the audio of whatever stream I'm watching. I wish Jhon Hindhaugh was the voice of the official broadcast!

I just noticed the FIAWEC timing screen has the Oak Ligier P2 with the Nissan GT Academy drivers powered by HPD.

Another one from the Audi app.

A guy called Ben Collins is driving a GTE Ferrari... could it be, the Stig?

Yep, that is THE Ben Collins.

Watching the audi stream with the data made me realize these guys are barely turning 4,000 RPMs. You believe that? its barely turning and yet these cars are producing nearly 800 HP

Some say his deal with RAM Racing fell through and that he joined Krohn really late, all we know is he's not Fabien Barthez but he is his Stiggy cousin.

With Restrictors, this isn't even their final form.
