Why do people insist on calling it Minolta?

It is like calling the F1 Race car the McLaren Fina, or a Delta Rally car Lancia Martini.

I don't get it.

Because its more "personal" than a series of numbers/letters, and everyone already knows what MINOLTA is anyways.

I think it may be because it is called the MINOLTA Toyota 88C-V Race Car in-game. That is just a guess. I could be wayyyyy off.
