What shall we do about tyre wear?

Ugh i cant even race tomorrow as i have a doctors appointment i didnt know about.... Even though i just practiced... But i might be able to make. It for race 2 is that allowed?
 
That will be fine but it is reverse grid of the first set of results so you will be starting at the back Im afraid :(

Quietly confident about this series now the calibra is handling well, tyre wear may be a killer for the AWD people, should bring the Mercs on towards the end of each stint.

I'm pretty confident too, in the practice race yesterday I had a completely stock car, just my driving let me down :D so with a decent setup I should be able to do pretty well, at Fuji anyway
GVS is a worry though, lots of acceleration zones, so the AWD cars will get much better acceleration, BMW and merc will have their work cut out

Bit like BTCC 👍
FWD cars, like Honda start off quick then at the end the RWD BMW's are very quick
 
Looks like I can make tonight 👍 However I've had no chance to run my car out to see how it handles (been a long time since sat in it), so this us just a forewarning for tonight and hope it's current settings are adequate enough for week one.

Done a quick tyre test after Bertys AWD post:scared: All seems ok Team alfa me thinks:sly: Overall happy with the car (Fuji more so!) hope to do well but its usualy my bottle that lets me down:yuck: Get excited if doing well generally make a mistake:ouch: Push to hard if behind generally make a mistake:ouch: If i can curb both of these theres an outside chance of some good points should be fun all the same.👍
 
Andy- Havent watched the BTCC since year before last, how did the beemers go last season?

Knelly- Glad you can make it (pm one of the other Alfa lads for a setup) ill be opening the race room in my lounge just before 9 for all the Division 2 guys.

John- I race better when chasing or in a 2 car battle, I am too polite in a group of cars because of the FGTC.

Everyone- Remember to turn up on or just before 9, div 1 to Wordup's room. Keep it clean but some gentle nudging is ok as long as no one gets sent off the track!
If you get put off the track, dont give up as I will take points off whoever did the crime and you will only lose out by rage quitting (keep a cool head).
Enjoy the first proper race :D
 
BTW, how long is qualify?

Qualifying is only held for race 1 and it is 21.05-21.20 then the race. 2nd race grid is reverse of the finishing positions from race 1 👍
 
He is rapido man. Luckily for me he isnt in my division! Look out for spurgy too, he is no slouch in any car!
 
The fastest time yesterday was a 1.53.509, race times were about 1.54s :) not sure about Fuji but I think it was a 1.37.XXX
 
Just got the BMW from the UCD after a few minutes of cycling. 👍
Expected it to take much longer than that.
 
Is that the only one you got Tyrrel? (sorry but its hard to keep uop with 24 drivers)

Not great, but the action was pretty good :) Theres 30 cars on the grid this year 👍 ITV4, watch it, theres great battles and much more interesting
 
Ok cool, if you decide to stick with us you need to pick up one of the other three cars to be eligible for promotion ok, your BMW points will carry over. Let me know when you get the cally,155 or 190 ok (this is the same for all the BMW drivers) 👍

Correct running scared!! Spurgy im nervous will ignore those times:nervous: Off to prepare excuses for the Alfas lack of performance.:D

Ok no problem, I would've bought one of the proper cars but the M3 was the only one to appear in the UCD after cycling it a few times so I got that.
 
That was Bret who did those times I think, I only did a 1.54.6 :( still kept up with him though somehow so I dont mind :D
 
@ Tyrrel- Its cool, I only included the BM to let the guys who didnt have the cars build points until they do.

Spurgey- I was 3 seconds behind in quali mate.
 
Really? Well no idea who did that time then, lets hope theyre in division two so I dont have to race them :D

GVS seems very sore on the tires
 
It was for me, the AWD cras scrub the fronts quite badly round there :(
There is a way to reduce it though 👍
