What shall we do about tyre wear?

1st race was good with a win

2nd race was a bit messy, drivers just diving down everywhere. Two spins, slow pitstop guys and i got a 5th. Not bad. 1st and 5th, but felt driving was still too aggresive from drivers

Some very good racing, Andy was a man on a mission at SSR5. He pulled away in the first stint, but in the second i clawed it back and finished 0.5 behind. 1-2 for Alfa :D

TM went well, I threaded my way through all the cars and found myself in second behind wordup who was flying. But he lost it just after the first corner gifting me the lead so all i had to do was nurse the tyres till the finish, another win for Alfa :D

Race 2 report: Again, bad start, but thats expected, followed Andy in 2nd to last for the first lap waiting for a good place to overtake, got alongside into the 2nd to last corner, but I dont think Andy saw me. I tried to back out but clipped his rear end, this sent him flying into the barrier so I waited for him to get going again. By this point we had lost 8 seconds (10 seconds behind). We carried on for 3 laps, and caught up to Sakery with Wordup in front setting low 1.24s, about half a second faster than I could go :( But then Andy went too fast on worn tires round the first corner and spun out infront of me, luckily just managed to avoid him, think I might of clipped him. By the time we got to the pitstops, which was lap 7 for me because my tire wear was quite bad, was down to 50% on my tires, I was 12.5 seconds behind. Again my driver decided to casually pull into the pits, guessing this is normal then, and I came out in 6/7th and 18 seconds behind the leader (Pagey). I went round by myself hoping to leapfrog Sakery who went 2 laps extra on his tires, and to catch Wordup to take 2nd overall. This didnt happen :( Wordup was a good 10 seconds infront setting roughly the same times and, despite setting some quali times (high 1.24s), Sakery was still infront :grumpy: So for the rest of the race I tried to catch and overtake him, but his tires were two laps newer meaning that after 3 laps of being behind him, lap 12 or so, my tires had gone off but his still had life left and he slowly pulled away. Pagey was still setting low 1.24s, think he said his fastest was a 1.24.0, so in the end I brought it home in 4th 23 seconds behind Pagey, again not a great result, I think the car just wasnt fast enough to keep up, despite the setup I took ages to get :(

Bad night not sure what happened tbh struggled for grip felt it straight away left room in hope of clearing didnt help felt like an ice rink???:ouch: Ran the same set up as Andy but with less talent:dopey: Such a shame we cant run bigger grids once these small ones get spread out the old concentration struggles anyways welldone up top.👍

I played GTA san Andreas all night. Mostly because I retired from this but also because my mum took the PS3 off me :p

Then why are you still posting in here ;)

But i am intrigued as to why your mum confiscated your PS3, did you leave the toilet seat up or something?

Just to throw it in for discussion, fastest laps (For Div 1):
SSR5: Afla - Andy 1.21.329(high 1.21 in race) - Merc: Me 1.21.910(low 1.22 in race) - Cally seemed to struggle, 1.23s
TM: Alfa: Pagey 1.24.0XX(low 1.24 in race) - Merc: Me 1.24.773(high 1.24 in race) - Cally: Wordup low 1.24s not sure exactly(low 1.24 in race)
Basically the Mercs were quite slow despite having a good setup and on top of that the tire wear was quite bad, by the end of the stint I had 50% all round.
Some good racing apart from that, was a lot cleaner this time 👍

My tidy room is untidy so it got taken off me.....as per

My 1:21:3 wasnt my qualifying lap. That was with about 20 litres no fuel and fresh tyre.

Edit: also in the race for ssr5 i think i got 1:22.8/9 once. Was in low 1:22 to low 1:23

Can anyone confirm to me about Sakery in div 1 ASAP
Did he quit or disconnect or what? Need to know for the standings?

Ah ok, it showed up as full fuel on my screen, and I meant the fastest laps Id seen, it wasnt just quali times, so the fastest time would be a 1.21.709 then :) And as for the in race times, I just estimated based on what people said they did/what times I did and how the gap changed. Will watch the replay and get the proper times :D

EDIT: In race for SSR5, Andy+Pagey both did a 1.21.7, I did a 1.21.9 and Rich(fastest for cally) did a 1.23.3. Tire wear - Alfa 60% front 80% back - Merc 60% front 50% back - Cally 50% front 70% back
TM, Andy did a 1.23.8 - Wordup did a 1.24.0 and I did a 1.24.6. Tire wear - Alfa 50% front 75% back - Merc 50% front+back - Cally 50% front 70% back.

Sorry brett I thought I posted that I can´t make it to Race 1 :D
Only said it in the test-lobby with Joe and Spurgy.

Race2 report:
Started last (due to the Blackscreen) but wasn´t bothered because I missed R1.
Start went pretty nice almost could pass Spurgy but I backed up.
Corner before chicane:
Spurgy and Andy side-by-side and me think little contact => andy spun Spurgy waited and I could just avoid a major crash because Spurgy slowed down on Racing line ;) (pure instinct xD)
After that I closed to JB, GTP_Dave and Rich.
Could pass JB after 2 more Laps and could maintain position due to superior chicane and First sector setup/speed etc (16.483 as fastest sector 1 time for me, and 200-205kph through final chicane).
After a superb battle with Dave (4-5 laps of pure clean racin 👍 ) I went for Rich and the others.
After passing Rich I knew I could only do 3rd because at that Time Wordup and pagey where ~10sec away and first stop had to be done (7th lap).
I did 9 in first stint because car felt good and my Times where still 1:25 high to 1:26low.
12 seconds in front before Pitstop and 12 after leaving pits.
Gap increased and Spurgy wanted the Podium. In addition I didn´t knew how much Andy was behind => I focused myself and pushed my maximum.
I did 1:25.2xx as fastest Lap and 1:25´s till Lap 14.
14th and 15th Lap where 1:26.0ish and I saw that Spurgy was struggleing with Tire-wear => drove home.

Car Feedback:
I thought First sector and Chicane was Benz Land. I could drive away in that zones (Dave, JB, Spurgy and Rich are first hand witness).
But sector 2 and the Corner after the back-straight where clearly AWD-Zones but thats because of the AWD :D
RWD is a bit twitchy.
I ran with 1090kg => 49/51 weight-balance just for your info
This made the Banz really settled and not soo loose (atleast for me)

No worries spurgy was just pointing out 👍 tyre wear for me was more like 50% front 70% rear for ssr5
And at TM i was looking out for Dave and JB as i was close and they were side by side. I just didn't see spurgy he was in my blind spot so i didn't see him. Sorry spurgy should of left more room but it was a bit brave the move but its in the past

Nice report Sakery 👍
I am glad there was a bit more control form division 1 this week :D

NEWS-
~We have a new joiner in div 2 so the next one will be sent to div 1
~No changes will be made to the settings for the rest of this season

My Race Report
SSR5-
I was in dead last for quali so thought I would set a lap with the Cally in RWD mode (10-90 split). This instantly put me up into 5th even though my lap wasnt that clean.
I started well on a 30-70 split and got up into 3rd pretty quick, changed to 15-85 and had a good scrap with a few of the lads with smart heart leading the way. Experience told me he was slaughtering his tyres so I waited and eventually got him as he went wide. Tyrrell and I were faster on different parts of the track so it was hard to know whether I was holding him up or not as he would drop back in the middle sectors and be pressuring me at the end of every lap. I got overtaken by Joe and Tyrrel after going wide into the tunnel and then got pitted by (insert name) somewhere along the line and dropped to 5th (but decided it wasnt intentional).
Smart pitted early and after my stop I got out in 4th where I stayed, Mike was fast in the Merc and managed to get right up my trumpet for the finish but no cigar for him :D

TM- Started 4th (i think) and followed the pack confident that I could beat them once I got past. I waited for a mistake to gain 3rd then hunted down 1st. I was a bit rough with smart heart but no foul as we both stayed on track (this is touring cars!) but no intention. I built a big lead so pitted late for fun, Joe was my nearest rival but I controlled the gap and really slowed down for the last 3 laps (to avoid crashing).
Great win and the Cally is great at TM :D

No worries Andy, I saw you back off a bit so went for the inside, but I was a bit too hesitant about it which never ends well :D And no more changes? :(

Not until the end of the season mate, I have outlined my evil plans in your PM.
Like has been mentioned before we need data over more track variety and people get annoyed at me when a make small adjustments (which makes me a very sad panda :()

Ok, I shall try and bear it for this season, but I dont think Merc will do too well in Div 1 now that weve been to our best track D:

 (bear it)
You poor sausage!

Completely unrelated.
LONDON (AP) -- Police said Wednesday they were investigating the
death of a man who was fatally injured after being hit by a turnip
that was thrown from a passing car.
The attack apparently was carried out by a gang who toss
vegetables at random at passers-by. Another man suffered stomach
injuries in April after being hit by a cabbage, police said.
Leslie Merry, 56, died Sunday, nine days after he was hit in the
back by a turnip that knocked him to the ground as he walked near
his home in London's East End, Scotland Yard said. He had a broken
rib and ruptured spleen and died from respiratory problems.
``It sounds very amusing but clearly it is not because a man has
died and we are treating this very seriously indeed,'' police said.

I didnt know whether to laugh at that as its a bit bad :(
I hope the police got to the root of the case :nervous:

Still feeling somewhat confused this morning cant get my barnet round why Words lounge feels so much different to mine?? I struggled for pace and grip last night so much so that i fired up this morning and ran the Alfa agian in my lounge at SSR5 second practice lap i banged in a 121.159?? The next 121.774?? The car felt stable and i was able to push with confidence:dunce: Lastnight the thing was so twitchy under braking and trying to apply power out of the corners!?!:yuck:
Had a couple of minor incidents with a couple of guys lastnight cant remember who you are sorry for that. The car felt so alien to me it caught me out on more than one occasion my bad.:ouch:

Will review my situation going forward still trying to get my head round the situation tbh dosent make alot of sense right now.:grumpy:

JB- Your fastest lap from the race last night 1.21.922. Your lounge- 1.21.159 on your own no pressure, no traffic.
Completely normal in my experience mate, weird how your car was monging out though. No idea about that one 👎
unlucky last night btw.

Yeah thats like in the practice before the race last night, i set a 1.21.2, but in the race i was over a second off that i think, and in quali a fair bit off too

One complaint received from division 2.
